The lack of aim assist wasn't the only problem with aiming in 1.3.

All those tears you wrote. I don't care what you call me. When the buzzer goes off, I don't care about your rank or what odds are stacked against me. I will make you pay for having that handicap. That's the mind of warrior. He doesn't expect an easy road. The warrior doesn't care if you use advantages for victory. If his training is good, he will win.
Bolo Yeung blinded Jean Claude Van Damme in a match. Yet he still got his butt whooped by a blind man. Jean remembered his training which prepared him for that he faced.
So the question is, who really is a scrub? Of course folks will agree with you. You and the others are type to cry when you face challenge. A warrior accepts what pitfalls are against him and welcomes the challenge. He still fights to overcome.
So yea, I think most are just softer than melted ice cream. HTFU and for once stop whining in your life and face the adversity head on. |

I haven't had a chance to try 1.4 yet so this comment has nothing to say regarding whether its bad, good, or op. I do have to comment about the original poster and just wanted to point out logic would dispute your assertion that only those who can't aim are the ones saying its not even noticeable. In fact it would be quite the opposite if you really are horrible at aiming you will notice the difference it would be the people who are good at aiming that would not notice the assist since their aim is already on the target. That is all I wanted to add to the conversation just my observation of your idiocy. |

Another QQing thread about something that every player can use for free being OP. I always used Aim Assist before the 1.4 update but because of these threads I decided to change it up and see what it's all about...It wasn't that much of a difference.
Listen.
You get more freedom with AA off but you are prone to mess up your aim if you slack. You get more assistance with AA, obviously, but you lack the freedom that others who don't use it, have. With AA it's easier to spray into someone's body. With AA off it's easier to get head shots on enemies.
There are pros and cons to both styles of play, get over it.
All of this super elitism makes most of you guys look weak-sauce since most of those who use AA still can get outgun by a BETTER PLAYER. Cry all you want...AA is automatically on for all players when they first activate a character in Dust :I and you can still pub stomp if you have the skill and the squad to do so.

with aim assist I can aim in the general direction and get kills with my unskilled AR. Litterally I am awfull because I use KB&M and a plasma cannon full time but honestly. When I can get on the DS3 and own as if I was chuck norris (remember I have no sp in AR) then there is something terribly wrong with the system.
My most memorable moment testing the system was when I hit a guy next to the one I was aiming at. Litterally you just have to aim slighty in the direction and get hits.
Turn it off or leave it in the academy until people learn how to use the DS3. People who say the aim assist is necesarry in a console are lying. I know people that will defecate on the sould of KB&M users every day with his controler skills, so there is no excuse.
I also met a guy that consistently shot people out of carse with his sniper using a controller. A friend of mine consistently goes 23/3 more or less with the DS3 when there was no aim assist.

tl;dr:
harden da fugg up Benefits everyone but Scouts. 1v1s are now based on eHP, not strafing or aim. Also, AA was disabled in 1.3.
Was it? I thought it was turned on...or at least I turned it on? Meh. I used it before then and in previous updates.
I don't know how the scouts truly do work in the game now BUT last time I checked 1 v 1s with a Scout aren't supposed to happen face to face most of the time. I'm assuming you're implying face to face because you added that strafing isn't a help in the 1 v 1. When I played Scout(In Chromosome and before <.<) I'd die by going face to face and had to rely on out maneuvering the enemy with my SMG.
IMO
With the scanning now "nerfed" scouts should be able to do more damage since they work best when they don't show up as a red dot. o_O A shotgunner should be doing extremely well now with or without AA.

Did you think that would last forever? Movement like that just made the game stupid. Who does that in a battle anyways. All they where doing was out doing the hit detection. Now that sounds more like a scrub to me. But then again maybe Im wrong. Who cares. Play the game or dont. The choice is yours.
It kills me that people completely wnat to ignore this. Prior to this update most of the time the first two shots of most weapons that were not fill auto would not register. If you have ever used the TAC you know what I mean. You just didn't notice this as much with full auto. |
