Try making sure that everyone in your squad has all Neocon and Chat windows closed prior to the leader selecting a battle. Seemed to work well for the squad I was in yesterday. Nobody was left behind once we started doing this.

Love it with the following exceptions 1. Squad members left in merc quarters. 2. Hit detection (not aim assist). Getting hit around a corner by an automatic weapon is a pain, especially with how quickly hit points are ripped away.
