 ADV and basic HMG are both complete utter ****... you either have to be 1 meter away from your enemy to kill this baster or accept defeat to a milita suit.

 when you come to terms that heavies are a joke, you'll be fine.
 
 1200+ HP means nothing. You have nades doing 800+ dmg on you, you have Mass Driver spam. People think playing a heavy is "EZ MODE!"... it's not.
 
 Know your angles and positions, and always have a retreating route in mind.

 I question your thought because it is irrational and was hoping if you did question it yourself, you would hear how ridiculous it sounds.
 
 From one heavy to another (although my sp is in forge and smg)
 Do you "stand and deliver" or do you pick your moments?
 
 If you don't mind me suggesting something, try this fit:
 
 Dren sentinel (or basic sentinel if you don't have the Elite pack - same suit)
 Complex damage mod
 Basic armour plate
 Complex repairer
 Basic hmg
 
 Cost is under 11k so you can die 15 times and still make money (and have a ball)... Or you can run it, play intelligently (know when to pull back) and be surprisingly effective.

 25/2 is not uncommon for me with ADV Heavy, MH-82 on my 2m SP alt.
 I rarely do this on my 10m SP Assault since Uprising.
 
 Unfortunately, MDs are everywhere right now and favor the same areas that Heavies do. This is where some Leroy Jenkins tactics prove useful.

 I went 40-8 earlier today........using mlt suit complex damage mod complex armor repair and std hmg....the biggest threat is fgs and MDS......keep your distance but stay within range and have a logi......sure if there's a lot of explosives goin off its gunna be a bad match.....my advice is to have a fit with an ar or SCR to mediate the range......most people think o there's a heavy he can't hit me at this range then zap....charged headshot

 You have to change your tactics up. Find DS 10 or CHICAGOCUBS4EVER and have them teach you for a game.
 You have to be wise with your engagements and you need a Repair Tool user to help you out time-to-time.
 
 The range and damage for the HMG is fine, considering its the most powerful close range weapon in the game, by far. Anything 20m or closer, you will kill, every time. But its more of a support role on the battlefield than an offensive role.
 
 This isn't like the Betas where the HMG rule the battlefield without any skill. Give it more time and practice.
 
 It helps to be on both sides of the HMG know how. You have to know how to kill an HMG in order to know how to use an HMG..
 
 Quite frankly, I think HMG is perfect right where its at.

 I got a basic advanced heavy (cause I was smart enough to go Commando suit), standard HMG, M1 grenades, basic armor rep, enhanced shield extender and cardiac regulator.

 i have about 590 armor and 620 shield, i do squat, i have a tiny rep on my adv suit only repping 3 Hps but i have enhanced dmg mod and adv hmg

 Militia HMG (because ive only gone into heavy weapons on that character)
 Std Locus for those annoying bunny hopper that like to hover around me

 i have 486 shield and armor since both skills are at 4
 this fit is fine i dont see why you have a problem
 it also only costs 7k

 The HMG will be gaining accuracy in 1.4 as well since the operations skill will reduce dispersion by 5% rather than reducing heat buildup. You'll have to worry a bit about overheating but you'll be doing a lot more damage.

 ive never seen a heavy beat plazma canun in CQC, it excels at the shotguns role

No, its reducing recoil, but the hmg has hardly any recoil, so idk why they decided to nerf the hmg operations skill.
