I got Gal Heavy to level 4, got all the necesary SP for Lv5 and then blew it all on Nova Knives, then went to level 5 MinJ@. I decided the speed and flexibility were more valuable than 1 extra low and I've never looked back.

The other Turrets always point north to begin with, so whichever direction you are facing - when you first flick into them, it WILL point north, then when you move it, it retains your last orientation. Enjoy.
