Meh I've been smashing armour from 100m+ for awhile. Some do it with a sniper rifle. I do it with an RE. On occasion I'm known to do it as CQC. Drop RE, toggle R2, aim rifle L1, boom... Didn't toggle but did hit activate RE instead.
