Wouldn't make sense for drones; coming in from orbit would be way outside of their operating range. As for fighter(bomber)s, Dust will have its own fast-movers, so it seems to me that it could just create a problem with too many aircraft.

I think the problem could be solved by not counting it as a death until respawn, but the enemy still gets the points for the kill once you hit the ground. In the end, it would be possible for the total kills to be higher than the total deaths, but...

+1 to OP. Might I also suggest that rewards be based on points, not kills? Playing logistics doesn't currently net you as much SP/ISK since you're focusing on healing and repairing rather than killing.
