Assault bonus grants you more damage (over time) than commando bonus. When it comes to Amarr Assault or Commando, take an assault.

Commandos are good, yea Once CCP does pg/cpu balancing it will be even better. You can stack regen mods, run at 7.2m/s + (7.6 or smth for minmando) while having hp of an assault and good dmg. As a support role, it is great.
