I've been hitting tons of head-shots with the TAC ;) and it does this silent heartbeat, like some sort of slow-motion cutscene, and then the volume levels on everything else come back up to normal. It only happens with head-shot kills.

The devs have already said they plan on a future "Caldari Rail Rifle" with longer range than the Gallente Blaster Rifles - because a lot of us like ranged gunfights. My guess is it will be right in-line with the old AR ranges...and tons of fun.

If I'm near to or shooting at someone who is lagging it sucks watching them teleport around, but there's nothing I can do for that kind of problem. If it seems like my console is stuttering I just reboot it - that usually does the trick.

I must mention the tactical use of nanite injectors. My friends and I always use nanite injectors - if any one of us are alive at the end of an encounter, we're all revived and back to full health in no time. Everybody dies.
