I would use it if it were hidden near an objective. For example, we capture A. A few minutes later, the enemy captures it. We can instantly get behind them and dominate.

I use a PS Bluetooth, got it for $20, you can probably find it for $10 now, it works great, has a mute option and is pretty comfortable. Battery is kind of low, about 4-5 hrs, then needs charging.

Dropsuit command shows your red dot when you are in a lune of sight, but at hig levels it disappears instantly once they can't see you.
