FYI - CPM has been shown video of all the new rifles in action, and they're pretty solid. The Combat Rifle is quite similar to the Battle Rifle from Halo 3 - if you enjoyed that weapon, you'll enjoy the Combat Rifle. Its actually a bit faster ROF ...
