Not if I have anything to say about it. The Nova Knives are special because they present a specific set of challenges for any player. Unlike other weapons that improve and get better with training skill books, the Nova Knives are the only ones that don't rely on that. They rely instead on the experience of the user itself. It takes a lot of careful preparation and coordination for a lone knifer to be able to close in on a target at the risk of being spotted and mowed down by a gun. This often forces the user to invest months of practice due to having to reprogram themselves from old habits and going into developing new habits that are completely out of the comfort zone of the user. But once that is achieved, the user can become a mean killing machine with just the knives alone. I was the first to pull it off back in closed beta at a time when the Nova Knives were considered nothing by jokes. People mocked me for even trying. But by the time open beta arrived, everyone feared me and anyone else who held a knife. Now imagine a pack of experienced ninja knifers running around with knives in the cities. But then Uprising 1.4 came and they got nerfed. Not directly nerfed but indirectly instead. Hit detection became more problematic strafing was reduced considerably. But as 1.5 arrived, the sprint-charge glitch got fixed. This glitch was the only thing that made the knives any useful at all as players were able to sprint with the charge held in the blades. But now it has become impossible to be an effective knifer here because everyone can avoid a charged knife attack easily by simply back pedaling since your backward speed is equal to the forward movement speed. As a result, most of us including me have been relegated to just camping out objectives and staying in the shadows for prolonged periods of time as we miss out on all the action. Sorry to say bro but the SPRINT CHARGE GLITCH getting fixed is your undoing for blasting it on he forums trying to be a " nova knife instructor/ rockstar" when you were specifically asked not to! All that where taught this were given the same instruction as you; and that was to KEEP YOUR MOUTH SHUT ABOUT IT ON THE FORUMS!
Then you go make some huge post teaching dudes on the forums how to do it like your Yoda , an now that it's gone I hear you hardly play. So take it on the chin like a man that YOU botched it for everybody an quit b!tchen about it, an this is why you shouldn't have ratted us all out! |

I read that topic, he basically disclosed how he had been using the glitch the entire time to prove that sprinting while charging wasn't OP. Instead of realizing that they could just make it a thing, CCP just shut it down in the following patch. Even if you blame Maken Tosch for taking the gamble, you have to ask yourself- what if it worked?
I tried to put a level into Amarr Commando once, but got a server notification saying "Why?"

Hopefully y'all took a look at the recently posted patch notes for 1.6. There's something in the grab bag for you, too. |

Instead of realizing that they could just make it a thing, CCP just shut it down in the following patch. Even if you blame Maken Tosch for taking the gamble, you have to ask yourself- what if it worked? It's cool he took a gamble an I remember making several posts about it being a skill off the nk tree, when it was shown to me by the guy that figured it out, I was told only me him an MAKEN knew about it, only rule to knowing was secrecy.
MAKEN could have squaded in the channel an taught, linked instructions on his blog ( which I think he did) or even sent a ticket to ccp asking they look into the sprint glitch that was done in chrome an different from the way you did it in uprising.
But instead the silence was broken with forum posts about the exact directions. Then ccp pulled it, so if it wasn't a big deal to ccp then they woulda left it, thing was you could do it with any charge weapon, so instead of getting rewarded for discovering this an bringing it to ccp I think the " instructor" got ahead of himself an didn't realize he gave all charge weapon users the ability to cheat the game by handing out public forum instructions, that's why it was a scout secret because we weren't abusing it with sprinting forge guns an ohk scrambler shots.
It's basically like telling you sneak the car out of the drive way on weekends but because you bring it back you should still have driving privileges .
I mean good effort an all, but you can't complain when you took it upon yourself to rat us out without having a scouts of the round table meeting, an I got stuck having to explain to the guy that taught me that I ALWAYS KEPT MY OATH.
Point is, don't complain when you did it.
But if it works don't take all the credit either cuz many people made posts suggesting its usefulness . We're a brotherhood an in my opinion I only called him out like a big brother correcting his younger brother.
I say it with love an respect for my brotherhood an I call it how I see it, no bull$hit. An much respect to you MAKEN for your efforts, just next time our gimp class has something cool, vote on it in a chat room first, that's fair no? |
