I note that someone mentions how the defenders can continue if the MCC is destroyed. To answer that is easy. They don't need an MCC as they have their clones onworld within their defenses already. The people that need to watch out are the attacker...

Not a heavy but I have heard it noted that the HMG should have stopping power as in impeding the enemies movement and possibly pushing them back. Pretty much the chain gun cha cha. Wouldn't this add to the effectiveness of the HMG?

Yep, been complaining about the exact same issues. However, it does seem to vary for me. Some matches I do anywhere between 27 and 35 then other times that weird hit 'n' miss thing kicks in. It feels like some weird glitch that happens randomly. ...
