Get good at identifying them and never let them get close. Also running in large groups discourages them/me. I personally back pedal while shooting and will bunny hop if they are to close. If they stealth you from behind you just die.

Also if you are using the standard remote explosives there is a delay from when you throw them down to when you can detonate them, I think but do not quote me it is five second for the standard and goes down with advanced and proto.
