Been awhile but deploy with L1 trigger with R1 so if you throw them on an obj and switch to a gun and then you see said obj being hacked hold R2 brings up wheel select remote's hit R1 bye bye red's
btw it used to happen if you deploy all your remote's and have 0 then switched to a weapon couldn't switch back to RE's but like i said been awhile |

How it seems to work for me is- If I set one remote explosive, but still hold on to the other, I heave to press L1 once for a "safety" and then again to detonate. If I have all my explosives out, pressing L1 detonates the first, pressing it again detonates the second, etc. |

So there must be players close before I can trigger them ? |

Ok, so I thought I was having the same issue, but turns out I had Proximity Explosives on not the Remote Explosive. The PE do not have a trigger, they go off when a vehicle is close. RE have a detonator, you will see it in your left hand if you have the correct item equipped.
Im betting since you cant get them to go off, you have the wrong item. They both have the exact same logo, so its easy to get them confused.
Hope that helps |

I don't think so, and they seem to have a very long detonation range, if there is a range. If you tried detonating while someone was hacking an objective, it could be possible they destroyed the explosives one way or the other beforehand. |

Also if you are using the standard remote explosives there is a delay from when you throw them down to when you can detonate them, I think but do not quote me it is five second for the standard and goes down with advanced and proto. |

Select the remote explosives using R2 and throw them down using R1. You can put them down in multiple locations depending on ammo reloads and how many can be active at once. Range seems to be unlimited so you can detonate them by selecting them with R2 as before and detonate by pressing L1. If you have multiple deployed, repeatably pressing L1 will explode them all.
Hope that helps. |

I had an issue few times where nothing happens when i press the L1 to detonate the remote explosives, and am not talking about my REs not responding, I am talking my clone is not pushing the button to detonate it when I press L1. |

Where you "at the ready" ? And by that i mean that L1 in the normal sense is the button that allows you to aim down sight and ONLY When you switch to your Remote Explosives Equipment, through the weapon wheel, does your clone become ready to detonate the explosive. You'll know when your clone is ready because you don't have a weapon and your clones arm console is visible on the screen.

Two questions:
1) Do the standard remote explosives go off at the same time if multiple explosives are deployed?
2) If I die, are my remote explosives still in effect, whether I equip them in my next dropsuit or not? |

It seems like remote explosives have been simplified a bit. Before the new maps, explosives went off in sequence; now, it seems like they all go off at once.
Easy to understand, if a little inconvenient.
To the question about dying and explosives:
The way it seems to work is, you die, your explosives stay there. If you have no remote detonator, you cannot detonate them (but they can still be triggered when stepped on). If you reacquire a remote detonator later, any surviving explosives remain active.
Can anybody confirm/deny? |

I have been watching the overview when I die and after death the indicator of my REs often slowly migrate up to the northeast of the map until they zooooom away. I'm guessing they have some hidden intelligence that causes them to run to the sleepers when there master is not present. |

I've seen that, too, but I don't think it means what you think it means.
I've had individual explosive packs last whole matches, undetonated, but I've also watched those little flying icons ... and I think that's what happens when someone "disarms" your explosives, usually with either a gun or explosives of their own.
Normally, it goes something like this: I place an explosive, get spotted as I'm doing so or immediately after, have time to say "Oh, KITTEN!" before dying horribly, then end up on the battle overview and see my little icon wandering off. My theory is that the incoming hostile saw me plant the explosive and prudently disposed of it. |
