Yes I have notice the same thing with my forge gun, at long distances infantry are not rendering not even a spec moving.

When you are in range and put you cross hairs on the in the bottom left hand side of you screen it will give you a analyze. It gives you shield and armor info then it will say MLT militia suit STD for standard ADV for advanced and PRO for prototype.
