From what I understand, the holomap used to have stuff on it in early beta. I'd imagine with Conquest out that it could be useful if they could link it to the battle map, but I don't know how much memory that would take up.

Honestly, I don't think you'll be keeping the Templar characters once the event is over, which is why you are going to be rewarded the 300 suit copies (should you qualify). It would be strange if you got to keep said characters after the event.

The reason those skills are so expensive is because just one or two levels in them can change the fitting dynamic of any dropsuit you put on. A dropsuit that would otherwise only be able to fit Basic equipment and modules could fit even Complex it...
