More and more I'm finding not only in instant battle matches, but also in mercenary battles, people are always using prototype gear. Being a logistics healer, I'm starting to wonder how in the world lower skilled players will even be able to get skill points if they cannot even survive through a match full of prototype characters. I'm hoping CCP addresses this soon..Frankly, I think that if proptype suits keep being used by the more skilled members, the newer members aren't even going to want to keep playing the game from being dropped so quickly. |

Just keep fighting. If you want to minimize losses keep using your starter fits. Dying alot is part of the game and not everyone is going to go #/0 all the time. If you're feeling really aggravated, call in the starter LAV and try to run some reds over. And before you say anything, I'm running an advanced fit and still die alot. |

reason why I'm glad I went for the elite pack. I'm running a free blueprint militia suit. I think what I'm going to do is save up the skill points for this whole month, then spec it into either my drop suits or my dropsuit upgrades skill. I just hope they put in the pve content soon. it would help the lower levels be able to skill up a bit better. |

Focus on your Dropsuit Upgrades until you can fit better gear onto the suits you have and better survive. Don't go for the higher level dropsuits till you can fit it with comparable modules and weapons, otherwise you're just wasting the fits. |

Those folks with proto gears are able to field that equipment because of the ISK they were refunded during the last free respec (not the respec we are talking now). But this will only last for so long before they start running out of ISK and finally get back to running cheaper gear. |

well, before the respec, my skills were literally all over the place, so what I did was when the optional respec initiated on my account, I dropped them into dropsuit upgrades, and right now, most of my skills are in the shield/armor/cpu&PG upgrades. I'm working on dropsuit engineering at the moment. |

This is why I only swap into my proto fit when the other team is rocking prototype gear. Making those players lose more isk in assets than they stand to gain from the match is such a rewarding experience. |

I've found that a good chunk* of PROTOs delved into gear but not Upgrade skills really, so they may be tough or damaging, but they are nowhere near their full potential. *Chunk =/= all
So that doesn't really help Bojo, I need advice!
Ok then, it's as simple as this: Squads
Honest to goodness, get yourself in an organized squad and use Splitting tactics to take on you Proto enemies one at a time. In a swarm, the Protosuits are overwhelming, they will break your squad just as easily as one would break you. However, using diversions, lures, and other methods, you can manage to split off less-than-aware players from their herd.
What this does is increase your odds. 6 vs 1, concentrated instantaneous fire...he's going down. Be sure to aim for the head because that pretty much helps negate their Proto Modules (extenders, plates, reps can't rep fast enough).
The general TLDR is that you have to be a spider on the web, you have to create traps. This may seem rather time consuming but it works.

Be stealthy. You're much more likely to survive (and win) if you can get hits in before your enemy does.
Also, use grenades. I'd wager that half or more of people don't even notice them. You can also use them as a distraction. Throw it in one direction, wait for the enemy to come over, and attack them from another direction.
It's not completely ethical, but it's the only way I know to have a chance against the higher-level gear. |

Flux grenades do 1200hp damage to shield only and have a big blast radius. They are slow to go off, but if you spam them into a crowd. I usually throw at - across - and a cut off as I peel back to actually try to engage a group. With their entire shields dropped in one whomp. Those adv and proto suits can take a lot less damage. If they are already taking fire those rechargers aren't going to do anything and they are easier to take down. If someone else also throws standard grenades...
You can really do a lot of area damage against a mob of tough suits.
This goes back to team work. A proto that just got his shields vaporized in one hit and is already taking fire is going to go into panic mode. A lot of them are used to just walking through you like grass. If you present a focused opposition. They can be killed.
But expect to die a lot as well. These guys aren't in top shelf stuff because they don't play Dust, and / or suck. So you're gonna get your butt kicked by these guys on the regular. Do your best to fight back. But don't get too mad when they do roll through your squad like it was a 1v1. It's gonna happen. |

Unfortunately, you gotta be able to kill these guys to relieve them of their assets. |

0. Always run in a squad and learn to squad properly. 9 out of 10 elite players forego actual squad tactics due to over-reliance on their own prowess. Once the average player can field proto, expect to see a changing of the guard from beta pubstompers to newbs who were driven to learn squad tactics coming up in militia gear and who now pc-stomp bc of it. 1. Become familiar with the top corps. After joining, but prior to deploying, identify all top corp players to your squad members. When you see them on radar, LOS, killboard, etc become hyper aware and decide, as a squad, to either avoid them or attempt to take them down en masse. 2. Become familiar with the 1-2 punch that is cooked flux followed by cooked locus grenades. Understand how shield recharge works (4 sec for scout, 8 sec for others) and then commit to finishing them off before their shields come back. Most players that go 15+/0 do so by strategically retreating when they get hit...not by avoiding all damage together. 3. Use your injectors religiously. Pick up every squad mate that doesnt go down to blaster, rail, or explosive. And learn the proper priority in finishing off your enemy and only then attending to the fallen. 4. Understand that only orbitals and LAVs are 100% effective solutions to prototype enemies. 5. Tactics, tactics, tactics: finish them off while they are reloading, calling in orbitals, changing out gear, defending against your flanker, etc. Keep squad chatter to a minimum and focus.
Good luck |

You are good at spotting enemy proto, try spotting friendly proto and follow them with repair tool. Guardian points when then kill, triage points when they are hurt. If the enemy is all in OP proto then there should not be a shortage of people to rez. You are logi so use your equipment and stay alive. Also, look for a tank, usually tons of assist points just for sitting in one. |

The cool thing about Dust as well as Eve, is that a highly skilled poorly equipped player can still take out a well equipped poorly skilled player.
Time and Patience.. And yes it is rare not to die a lot when first delving into this game. |
