261. Dust-EVE Movie - in General Discussions [original thread]
There's actually an machinima EVE movie called "Clear Skies" . Or, more accurately, there is an EVE movie trilogy called "Clear Skies". It's pretty good, but it was made long before DUST, so there's no mention of immortal mercs.

263. The meanning behind some of our names. - in General Discussions [original thread]
Mine is styled on Arabic partonymic (nasab) and relational (nisbah) names. "Ibn" is the patronymic portion, meaning "son of". "Al Alasab'e" is a surname often used to indicate city of birth or tribe. "Al Alasab'e" means, if google translate was co...

Was the gay bashing really necessary? Couldn't call it dumbus snipicus, or something similar? Had to make the "insult" that they're gay?

266. epy pen lol - in General Discussions [original thread]
It's "EpiPen". "Epi" is short for "Epinephrin", which is basically another name for adrenaline. It reduces swelling associated with anaphylaxis.

267. Packed AV Grenade vs Madruger? - in General Discussions [original thread]
I've had a couple people ram me with LAVs. It's not enough to kill a HAV, but it definitely stings.

268. Packed AV Grenade vs Madruger? - in General Discussions [original thread]
A tactic people have used against me to great success is to put someone with a swarm launcher or forge gun somewhere high up. This forces the HAV driver into cover, since they can't return fire and even when you can take 5-10 hits you can't just s...

269. Packed AV Grenade vs Madruger? - in General Discussions [original thread]
My sica has about 4000 shields. An AV grenade (which does 60% damage to shields, I believe) will usually hit me for about 1/8 to 1/6 of my shields. So we can say they're hitting for about 500-700 damage. I'm guessing, then, that they hit for 800 t...

Basically, because that amounts to bad and boring game play, and is bad for New Eden's economy. Here's a statement I made in another thread on this topic (holy crap does this ever come up a lot) that mostly still applies. The first point was uniqu...

I think it's a lot more likely the dev was referring to using it for PvE because, as I mentioned earlier, boarding player ships is just a bad idea.

273. Battles in EVE ships. - in General Discussions [original thread]
If you're talking about player ships it's not so much "Soon(tm)" as it is "that's a dumb idea, and it's never going to happen." That said, if you're talking about PvE applications, or sovereignty (station and POS control) then yeah, that's pretty...

274. Tanks ARE balanced - but surrounding gameplay isn't - in General Discussions [original thread]
Don't forget to take capacitor into account. This is an as-yet unimplemented feature for vehicles in DUST, but it's going to change the way they're balanced drastically. For the uninitiated, the capacitor in EVE is analogous to a mana bar. Capaci...

I've noticed some of that too. One person in militia chat referred to DUST as a "cancerous growth". I think when DUST starts having more impact on New Eden people will open up to it more.

278. Why does revive still count as death? - in General Discussions [original thread]
I've done that. Revive people while there's still a firefight going on. I do it because it resets the bleed-out timer, giving me more time to open the area up to more permanently revive them. Not that the +60 WP isn't a nice bonus on top of that.

ITT, people overvalue their KDR. Die twice? So fracking what? You get to keep your gear, and your team's clone count doesn't drop.
