At militia/standard grade the heavy suit is definitely quite powerful. It's once you get to the Advanced/Prototype stage where the assault and logis get all those module slots that nearly nullify the purpose of a heavy.

40k for my advanced commando with advanced ASR and laser rifle. 62k for my advanced assault with proto scrambler rifle and advanced scrambler pistol. A little more expensive than your average advanced fits, but I still make a profit most rounds.
