Got someone to play the game, was doing horrible, was going to quit, told him to try out the closest thing to a tank suit, didn't die immediately upon taking fire and actually did pretty good.
I mean, he wouldn't shut up about it (doesn't have a PS3) and really wanted to play it. He wouldn't stop talking about "kicking Dust." Happy I was able to make it enjoyable. Tried to get him to play on my profile, but like me, he'd rather work from scratch.
Was pretty cool hearing depression turning into enthusiasm. |

At militia/standard grade the heavy suit is definitely quite powerful. It's once you get to the Advanced/Prototype stage where the assault and logis get all those module slots that nearly nullify the purpose of a heavy. |

Tell him to upgrade to Standard Heavy pronto. Only MLT Dropsuit that has less base health than it's upgraded counterparts. 304 armour instead of 405. |

Good idea! He already got his complex damage modifiers. Not sure what weapons he speced into, I think assault rifles, so he'd probably be straight with everything with that. Won't be here long enough to do much else beyond that. |

The problem with the heavy suit is that it doesn't get enough bang out of upgrading. But meh, all of that will get sorted out eventually! |

I have an alt heavy with only 1.3 million SP spent on it (i have 4.2 million SP total) in all militia.
I can safely say the militia HMG Heavy is OP....but no one seems to care as High SP/gear can easily out class it so all the Forum protobear OP whiners don't really notice it.
I imagine when and if matchmaking is implemented there will be calls to nerf it. |
