Son of a Gun I double checked your math A proto swarm at 5 proficiency running two complex damage upgrades comes out to 2673 before adding any resistance bonuses or weaknesses Adding in the 30% damage bonus to armor thats 3475 per swarm solely to armor but thats just ignoring the shield resistance bonus to get numbers we would prefer Factor that in and you get 1871 damage per swarm and every tank has resistance amps and plates to further decrease those numbers
Now I know you felt like you struck a great blow but then here comes proper math and logic to show its not as bad you guys whine about |

Is not 120% there is a bug. It is more like 135% to 150% it varies. This has been tested by player in game, or so I have hear form player claiming to have tested it. |

Today marks the day that the last of the great tankers left Dust. This is officially everybody who ever achieved the status of "great tanker" in the Vet community (those who actually played PC). Infantry, we toss in the towel. You have QQ'd us into the ground and CCP allowed it.
Before you tell us to learn how to tank, ask the guys who went against us in PC or CBs (in Chromosome...most of you weren't there) how good we were and they will tell you. The handful of us that truly learned the art of tanking and got it down to a science know exactly what is wrong with tanks and have all proposed every possible fix to it, but now it is over. Or for a more recent source, ask the tankers who tried to take us one on one without any help and ask them how well they did. We got to where we are by being the best in Chromosome and in Uprising. When we die, it is not because we are being stupid. We die because we have glass tanks against weapons that can take half of our HP away in 2 shots if our hardeners are not on.
You all troll us and say, "Can I haz ur stuff????", but that is the problem. in a few short months, you will look at the kill feed and see noting except Duvolle Assault Rifle, as eventually, everything will be nerfed. Look at weapons in Uprising, then look at the QQ threads in Uprising. Almost all of them were noted AR players asking for nerfs of non-ARs and now look at the effective weapons: snipers, ars, flaylocks, and mass drivers. Nothing comes close and the mass drivers and flaylocks will be soon to go.
All of the vets with half a brain in their head saw this coming and warned everyone, but trolls gaffed us off.
Tanks are why the last of us are leaving, but it is not the real issue. The issue is useless CPMs who only got to where they were by sucking CCP's ****, devs who are more concerned about pleasing the most common type of player (CalAssault AR nooblet), and a company that has failed to listen to its community during a beta. Again, tanks are just a symptom of a much larger problem. Tankers have been the first to quit, but others will follow, shortly. Unless you all stand together against the AR QQ-ing bitches, you will lose your combat effectiveness to a point where no amount of skill can save you, as we did.
Void, Bob, Caeli: It has been fun but this game is no longer for us; I hear Slap likes WoT. Hahaha.

There is an old saying: don't put all your eggs into one basket.
This should go double for Dust, what with all the nerfs an all. You shouldn't just quite because of this though. You have two mil invested into suits right. Well it takes roughly about 6.5 mil SP to creat a good proto suit fit, with proto light and sidearm. You should just work on doing this until the nerf comes (buy some booster if you don't use them). Then when the nerf comes just ride out the storm, on the ground in a suit,until your tank gets fixed again, which shouldn't take all that long. What ever you do you shouldn't quite over this. I'd have to call you a wuss if ya did. |

Even with this 'bug', armor tanks were still at a disadvantage when compared to shield tankers against AV. Now armor tanks are even more useless than shield tanks; which were useless, already. I'd tell you to ask them to buff shield tanks to match armor, but you, the devs, and the noob ar community are a band of ******* idiots and any player with a brain in their head knows it. The worst part of it is that I'm not sure if you actually are stupid enough to think this, or if you're just sucking CCP's **** to keep your CPM position.
Ban me, GM. I don't give a **** because I have 15 characters and you've only found 2, thus far. If you thought the ps2 bomber was bad, you ain't seen nothin' yet. The reason shields weren't factored is because, the shields only count for the initial volly and shields only count for a minuscule amount of total eHP of an armor tank.
The reason hardeners weren't acounted for is because it is part of the meta, and they do eventually run out. If you are a skilled AVer you know how to bid your time and take advantage of this.
My calculations where on the conservative side I only factored for 135% of a posible 150%

I do care. Caeli SineDeo is here since...well, at least since codex, because he's one of the few names i remember from closed beta. He always made good technical posts, giving great feedback on tanks. He is a great tank pilot too ( among with Sir Meode, Adri Gac and some other). You novices will never understand what means being a real beta tester giving right feedbacks and not just crying out loud. I think he has been one of the most active vets here, and if he leaves too, well, there must be something really wrong. There's no competition in Dust anymore because many good players / corporations left. I used to have fun when the opposing team were formed by people from Imperfects, Zion, Seraphim Initiative, Gac, What the French, Internal Error, Ahrendee, PFBHz and others. I know it's not going to be a good game if i don't see any of these. And it's starting to happen more and more frequently; pub stomp is not funny. Stay awake for a PC at 5 AM is not funny. Switching servers to lag as hell is not funny. Being nerfed after you spent 15kk SP is not funny. Monotony is not funny. The only way to save the potential is a good rework, there's no need to change crew imo, they're pretty good guys. As I already stated this game should go back to an official beta, or maybe it need a complete rework from the ground up. Great, brilliant, excellent ideas poorly applied. |

However, just because you can do everything does not make you an expert in everything. Honestly if I had to pick between Cali or IWS for tank advice, a 100% of the time I would choose Cali. Therefore, I am much more inclined to think that armour tanks will be broken if CCP fixes this bug.

By standard fit, I mean 6753 armor. Those AV grenades do an obscene amount of damage to armor vehicles. |

Try to get them to give us a teaser, and I mean something good, not something like "armor plates being increased by 2%." Something like "you're getting your powergrid back" would get our attention pretty easily. |
