To the part I bolded, If you are mixing it up you won't die to snipers and LAVs. I rarely ever die to snipers and I play at AR range around central objectives. I do die alot to LAVs, but thats mostly because I'm ditzy and walk out into traffic before looking both ways. Thats a playstyle choice.

As for people shooting you from the redline.... Well.. Stop wearing all protogear, pubstomping and redlining them. Keep the fight in the middle of the map. Thats a playstyle choice.

Oh wow look at me. I wore all protogear, pubstomped the other team and then once we redlined them, they got out their sniper rifles and sniper tanks and shot at me. But because I only use an AR and Flaylock, I didn't have the range to shoot them back.

I am so mad that CCP will not let me get into their spawn and base **** them all day

87. Run over.

38. By tank.

43. By every other weapon in game, from grenades to knives.


Over 85% of these deaths were to 3 weapons. I think this says a lot about this game.

Great, you passed elementary statistics, that any kid in high school could've studied. Here's some things you didn't list:

Place and location (were you taking cover by a box/crate? what map are you on? were you in the open field?)

Weapon Type (some cocky guy coming around the corner with some real skill and a militia shotgun [the other weapons]? some sniper with any rifle between militia and proto?)

What was your action at the time? (what were you doing? capturing an objective? making suppresive fire in coverage?)

What class are you (are you a squishy medium suit perfect for sniping? Are you a slow heavy out in the open? are you quick like a scout and try to cover fields where you may face getting run over?)


The thing is this, (and I don't want to sound spiteful in any way) if we keep using data with just numbers, but not enough detail to understand dynamic changes in combat behavior, then we are going to have quite a crude balance. Trust me, every MMO from EVE Online to World of Warcraft realizes really fast why only relying on numbers for balancing is terrible; That's why they have testers, and they do damn well to observe whats happening in the environment, while the data collecting is simultaneously doing it's work.

My ALT char has twice your kills and kdr, and the only reason I have it is for CEO of the corp. You are talking rubbish.

I have this thing called a job, and a family and a life. I don't sit around all day playing video games. I'm glad you take pride in the fact you sit in a dark room playing playstation all day.

However I've been playing this game for a long time, and I do occasionally log in and play. And I still don't get killed by snipers very often. And I "Choose" to wear only milita gear, because its my playstyle. I choose to run headlong into the middle of battle. And as such my KD is low.

Red lines snipers are the majority of my deaths as well. I speed tank with my LR, the only problem is my giant beam of light really gives away my position making me sniper bait.

Well, instead of trolling the forums, maybe you could put that time into playing instead.

I can get your total kill tally in just one days play.

Lol, I wish. I'm at work and I'll be stuck here for another 11 hours. Then I gotta go home and take my kids to the park, then take my wife out to a nice dinner, then come home and do adult things, then pick up the kids and read to them and put them to bed. and maybe, just maybe... I might get in 1 match before I pass out.

I somewhat agree.

I reckon about 70% of my deaths come from being run over by LAVs. They don't seem to need much speed to do so, and sometimes, well, a lot of times, they are quiet to the point where its already too late.

Its not that my REs or indeed my flux MD combo don't kill enough of them, its just that its not really any fun. I know HTFU go to fish and whatnot.

Say whatever you want, having a FPS game where getting run over by free LAVs is the biggest threat in a standard pub game is just in serious bad taste. All the "adapt or die" and HTFU people can be my guess and keep saying that until the rest of this puny playerbase takes their hats and leaves....

I write constructive feedback all the time. I gave this thread somewhat constructive feedback.

I related my own experience that I didn't die very often to snipers, and that when I talk to corpmates, they never complain about snipers. They do complain about clown cars though. And I found my experience differed from yours, I mostly die to ARs and grenades, then after that LAVs.

Looking at the differences, the only conclusion I had was that we had different playstyles.

Therefore I told you that your numbers are biased on playstyle and if you changed your playstyle you would see different numbers.

Trying to win the battle and helping you team mates, IS NOT A PLAYSTYLE... It is actually ; PLAYING THE GAME. Maybe you should try that more often....

Pubstomping people isn't fun. I don't enjoy ROFLstomping everyone. Redlining the enemy team and forcing them to just give up and switch to sniper rifles and clown cars isn't fun. It isn't fun for them either, so they quit.

For me, I like a close match against a tough opponent. In many different games, when you sit down to play, you can select a difficulty setting, easy, normal or hard. I always choose Hard. I enjoy games like Dark Souls. And as such, I choose Milita gear beacuse I consider it hardmode. This is my playstyle.

The problem you are encoutering is not that snipers are OP. It is that you are OP compared to who you are fighting, which shows there are matchmaking issues. If you adopt your playstyle you may find more enjoyment from closer matches. Unless of course you do just like bending people over and base raping them

What ? ...seriously dude... go and play Dust 514 for a bit, because you really have not idea what you talking about...Pub Storming have nothing to do with red-line snipers and tanks, or LAV's. Yes Pub storming is bad.. but that is a DIFFERENT problem..

I played a half dozen matches last week. didn't notice a problem with redline snipers or sniper tanks until after we redlined them. Sometimes I may catch a stray bullet every once and again, but I typically never stand still, even to shoot. LAVs are always a issue, but it becomes a crazy issue once the enemy is redlined and they just want to drive around and have fun.

I'll check it out if your telling me this is some new crazy thing.
