I'm sorry, I'm breaking the rules. I can't seem to settle for one request, when so much is badly in need of adjustment.
Adjustable Zoom Scope - There is too much data clutter when you are scoped in on a bunch of friendlies and/or hostiles. All the bars and data is blinding. If we can adjust our zoom, this situation can be addressed.
Eliminate Weapon Sway While Crouched - Why does my merc have to throw his weapon around every time he scopes in or moves his toe even a smidge? We're fkin already crouching... Why do we need so many stacking handicaps? If we could crouch and get a shot off without having a seizure each time, you might see more of us move in closer to the action. We won't need a bipod.
Reverse the Weapon Profile Change - This one really kills it for me. It's annoying to even type about, because it makes little sense. It's really hurt tactical sniper rifles in a bad way. Put the 10% damage vs. shields right back where you took it. In fact, I'd prefer a bias AGAINST shields. 110% vs. shields. For a sniper, the opening shot is everything, because every follow-up shot against an alerted target is increasingly difficult. It makes no sense why railgun snipers received such a penalty, and no alternative sniper rifle with potency vs. shields was offered as a caveat. Poor planning.
Target Painter - I shouldn't have to be squad lead to be able to mark a target with a red attack indicator. If I'm able to generate a simple attack indicator, that would be better than, "Behind you." or "Just around the corner ahead of you." I want this, because the red chevron just does NOT light up for everyone in squad sometimes. Apparently you often DO need to be squad lead, in order to mark a target.
Prone - Yeah, we need it. Will we ever get it? No.
More Weapon Variants - "Breach Sniper Rifles" with effectiveness in the 100m-200m range would be nice. A sniper rifle we can use more like a heavy tactical assault rifle. Anti-shield sniper rifles. Laser sniper rifles. Pulse laser sniper rifles. Burst sniper rifles, with a charge-up mechanism. Get rid of the monotony.
Dropsuit w/ Sniper Bonuses - Sentinel's get a reduction to feedback damage, and increased heavy weapon reload speed. Minnie Scouts get +5% to melee and NOVA KNIFE damage (a dedicated weapon damage buff). Every role gets something that works for them, or helps a dedicated role. I'd like to see snipers get a weapon damage buff, OR a sway cancellation buff, OR a huge boost to scan radius and precision (for the ranges that SNIPERS operate from).

But a pointless thread. I have faith the size of a mustard grain that someone at CCP will care about niche roles. |

Min scout is a meta level 0 suit that explodes on heavy suit fart impact! If you max all your CPU an pg an upgrade shield upgrades armor upgrades and shield you get a max of like 433 total hp on a proto suit an maybe 360 on advanced IF YOU WASTE A MILLION SP ON ARMOR UPGRADES FOR 20 extra HP! So a advanced has 340 IF YOU SPEND TWO MOR MILLION TO GET CPU AN PH FROM LVEL 3 to 5 just to even have a side arm! Plus you cannot fill the suit with a grenade proto, shields proto or both weapons or two speed mods. My skills are mad high I get 2 complex shield 1 enhanced, 2 red complex speed flux an nova knives with a whopping total hp of --- GET THIS 398--- wow an u want to put a bullet through my suit body an soul! Lol you sir are a greedy mofo! I mean our suit runs ,knifes, an punches that sound right to you? You get cal logi 5 damage mods a 300 hp thales that does of a 1000 modded out, a redline , a drop ship with uplinks on huge a$$ towers an now you want a suit bonus?! Those chevrons can be a real pain sometimes, but we need them to pinpoint other snipers. It would be great if on the scope it tell you how far an enemy is. It will be perfect to highlight enemies in our scope so frienlies can see them as long as we are scanning them. each time you zoom in, freakin scope sways, thats why we need a bipod. Put my damage where it needs to be! I agree with you there. Lets get the scan enhancements working already. I speced into gal. for the range bonus. |

I'm going to cheat as well.
I want a new reticle. It would look something like this. The entire cross plus the surrounding circle would change color when over a valid target. However, it would also have a range finder number listed on top of the circle. Also, when you are on an enemy (and only then), it will show their shields and armor similar to how ours is shown but wrapped around the circle of the the reticle with numerical values just below the squares. Their name is shown below the circle. Otherwise, enemy hp/name is not shown.
This would
- Clean up my screen when looking at a mob of people
- Give me more precision (I can't count how many times the dot has told me I have a valid shot only for it to whiz by their head by a fraction of an inch)
- Allow me to know how far something is. This means I could tell my teammates how far off a threat is or check if my target is within my effective range.

nice crosshair. Do we need the mil dots though since there's no bullet drop? Better scope for proto weapons. Something to differentiate us from the mlt. sniper, free sniping class. We are elite in the end, using proto snipers and modules. |

I just picked the first reticle I could find with lines instead of dots/chevrons/etc..
I'd be okay with better scopes for higher tiered sniper rifles as long as they came with variable zoom. Max zoom is not always needed. |

Does the sway make that much of a difference? If you snipe while crouched, the sway disappears after you settle.
For the love of all that is good and holy, YES.
How about L3 instead? I like being able to let go of L1, quickly turn to a new area, and then ADS again. However, I have never found a need to sprint and look through my scope.

I could've exploited that, but I don't like the rifle. We need more proto rifles (2). I've never redlined, One redline killed me, I then traversed on the edge of the red zone, found him 20m in the redzone. Killed him wit M209 Assault SMG. my timer ran out. As far as damage goes, I can only fit 2, I think that's enough. |

Does the sway make that much of a difference? Yes it does. The sway disappears after you settle. But the sway pops up, EACH and EVERY time you scope in, and EACH and EVERY time you move yourself even a pinch of a fraction of a decimeter. Needing to crouch to have a stable aim is bad enough. If 'm crouched all sway should disappear. Not reappear every time I scope in, or have an itch.

No damage mods for snipers? Then you better increase their base damage by 30%, because they are useless without them. In fact, even with damage mods, snipers are borderline useless as it is. The Charge sniper rifle's price has already been adjusted. No WP and no kills fighting from the redzone? You aren't a sniper are you? Play as a dedicated sniper, then you'll have right to say what they need and don't need. They have no business fighting anywhere NEAR the action unless all the sway and penalties to even shoot that they have are removed. |

I have sniped plenty. There are plenty of hills to snipe from not in the redline. They aren't near the action either. Playing from the redline is straight up cheating. No risk means no reward. Snipers may need more damage at basic levels. Sure use damage mods but start using bullet travel time so you actually need skill to hit 1000 damage from your god cannon Thales |

Currently, I find that I need to be near the 100m to see the target clearly. disadvantage is that you get duvolled. I can provide the greatest support when I'm near my squad and the enemy. As soon as they fix sniping, I'll retreat into my optimal range. P.S. I love killing med. frame snipers, |
