I'm going to cheat as well.
I want a new reticle. It would look something like this. The entire cross plus the surrounding circle would change color when over a valid target. However, it would also have a range finder number listed on top of the circle. Also, when you are on an enemy (and only then), it will show their shields and armor similar to how ours is shown but wrapped around the circle of the the reticle with numerical values just below the squares. Their name is shown below the circle. Otherwise, enemy hp/name is not shown.
This would
- Clean up my screen when looking at a mob of people
- Give me more precision (I can't count how many times the dot has told me I have a valid shot only for it to whiz by their head by a fraction of an inch)
- Allow me to know how far something is. This means I could tell my teammates how far off a threat is or check if my target is within my effective range.

Niuvo wrote:nice crosshair. Do we need the mil dots though since there's no bullet drop? Better scope for proto weapons. Something to differentiate us from the mlt. sniper, free sniping class. We are elite in the end, using proto snipers and modules.
I just picked the first reticle I could find with lines instead of dots/chevrons/etc..
I'd be okay with better scopes for higher tiered sniper rifles as long as they came with variable zoom. Max zoom is not always needed. |

Oso Peresoso wrote:Change sniper rifle operation skill to a damage bonus, a headshot damage bonus, or a rate of fire bonus. Normalize sway. The sway bonus is a bigger deal than other weapon operation bonuses I feel, and to me it puts people wtihout the skill at 5 at a double disadvantage.
Better hit detection and draw distance for targets at range.
Variable range scope (switch L1 to toggle)
Does the sway make that much of a difference? If you snipe while crouched, the sway disappears after you settle.
For the love of all that is good and holy, YES.
How about L3 instead? I like being able to let go of L1, quickly turn to a new area, and then ADS again. However, I have never found a need to sprint and look through my scope.

In a way, I believe that is what the Forge gun is just sans the scope. |

Niuvo, perhaps you should put a list of your favorite ideas on the OP for greater visibility for CCP. |

Not as bad as when a group of people are running on a platform and all you can see are their heads or when you shoot at an enemy hacking an objective or other installation only to hit said installation because it magically extends beyond the texture. |

If redline snipers are that big of a problem, how about moving the MCCs and forward bases back another 100 or so meters from their current position and move the redline back with them as well as expanding it on all sides? Other team gets access to the previously redline snipers and I get to keep my favorite spots that CCP had to place in the redline areas.
What annoys me more are the tower snipers. CCP really should have put a stairwell/ladder up to the top of those places so everyone has access to those places, whether to snipe or kill someone who is sniping. |

Demon Buddah wrote:I'm gonna break the rules lol. The bullets should drop. All you gotta do right now is put the enemy on the dot and you hit them, not really a lot of skill needed. Borrowing Oso's setup
distance to hypothetical target = 300 meters travel time of flechette = (300m) / (2500m/s) = 0.12s Acceleration due to gravity of Earth* =9.81m/s^2 Distance bullet has dropped = 0.5 * 9.81 * 0.12^2 = 0.0706m = 0.232 ft = 2.78 inches
*I am assuming New Eden's planets have a similar gravity
Not really worth the trouble of implementing it. |
