What about "VR Training" in game? Similar to your local matches on CoD with everything accessible. Those that actually want to improve will you their gear, but you will still have people cluelessly running gear they dont have.

If you want to use a non BPO suit, you must make it valid by paying the full cost of the fitting, and then recieve unlimited spawns. This would go for vehicles too. So if I save my pennys and scrounge together 1.5 mil 'spare' isk, I could spend the next four or so matches practicing flying my Incubus much more aggressively, but with the instant loss of ~380k at the beginning of each match. Basically, this would prevent it from becoming a place for people to infinitely joyride expensive gear just because it's free. I like how much more in depth this is. So if im understanding correctly, for every 'unique' fit, you would have to pay for it

The idea is to not loose anything, including isk, for training purposes. That would stop a lot of people. Why spend the isk in a "training battle", get nothing in return when they could do that in a pub match and earn isk/wp/sp while doing so?

The point is, that VR training rooms are something which could very quickly become the single most abused mechanic in the game. I would love to get %100 free stuff, but it would be bad for the game and not in line with the sandbox concept of 'Everything you use, you had to buy or build, and if you die everything you had on is lost.'
SgtMajSquish, in answer to your question, yes. Each 'unique' fit that you wish to use must be purchased, and once purchased, you may deploy as many as you want for no additional cost. |

Go into training, learn/teach, leave training, play real battles, test what you've learned, then back for more training. This would be a good idea even for the oldest and best of the Corps. COD is -----> that way This has nothing to do with COD. You are absolutely right, nothing to do with COD but it sure sounds like some of this is a regurgitation of the COD games, perhaps a more unique approach could be taken. There a many ways to test weapons, equipment and vehicles out other than being a vanilla flavor. For instance, Eve has several training missions that could be easily replicated on the battlefield through all lines of gear and equipment. Another way would be to allow access to owned districts to free roam, explore and experiment. Other people have suggested a firing range for both vehicles and weapons and equipment giving a user models to test their gear on and how effective they are.
My personal belief in the Training area is that you should be able to adjust the "difficulty of target" similar to the way you would for the DOA franchise arena fighting games, setting moves and gear according to what you want to test against. This would be a firing range/arena situation where you already know what the computer is going to do because you told it to do it and this means you can then practice moves such as melee attacks, cloaking, running and firing and also healing by adjusting the dummy's health bar and how they interact with the user. There should also be an option to add more bots to the training room, so one could be your buddy that you are repping, one could fire on your buddy bot and one could fire on you.
This is more ideal for a training room than anything else I have seen in here, covering multiple scenarios and being mostly content created by the user. "What will we train today?" Additionally it could be useful to allow squads and teams to deploy together to the firing range allowing them to replay battles recorded by users to gain added insight to why they won or lost, letting them fly (non-combat) through the fight beginning to end in replay mode to better understand their opponents.
I think this covers things that would be useful for everyone, educational as well. For instance if buddy bot 1 with 450 armor and 200 shield HP cannot stand up under the fire of a ballacs ar whilst being repped with a six kin triage repair tool while you are taking fire but you can manage to pick him up with a wyrkomi needle before you die to enemy bot 2 in location X on Y map then he is able to pick you up with his Kin 12 Needle and carry on, then you have ways to test and adjust your fits and your squads fits to suit situation where the best solution is not readily available. Doing this without cost can be beneficial to the entire community as it removes the need to grind massive amounts of isk, instead allowing squads and teams to plan tactically what to do in any given situation.
Can we have an ETA on Legion please, don't want to buy a computer till I know what I need to run this

Ah, yes, lots of good alternative training scenarios presented here. Any or most sound quite plausible, if not preferred.

That can be quite good for corps to test tactics. Also for individual players to test new fits without loosing ISK. Sometimes I have crazy ideas of fitting my dropsuits and when I lose 2-3 I quit. With this mode I can continuw testing until I am convinced. |

I looked, but did not find anything similar, if there is, please point me that way i would like something like this too, but ccp won't let it happen. they want you to cut your teeth in a live game. eve is the same way, there's no 'training mode'. the solution is to let corps who own territory use their maps when they're not being attacked to fight eachother. stuff will get lost, and clones will die, but it's what we need.
there is the test server in eve. :p

Maybe battles could be "spawed" in around 4 times per day, at set times, for every corporation, under special contracts.
Or set up a training district somewhere on the star map , that corps could attack on their own accord. And it randomly pairs two full teams vs one another. (the district could be attacked an unlimited amount of times per day, never lose clone counts, and could sustain multiple battles at once, and unable to be flipped) We could even have to launch clone packs to do this (But no clones are lost, so they would be refunded after the battle?) . Another option for this, so we could still have 32 man corp team practice, would be to enable a corp to launch an attack on their corp HQ location. :p
Have each battle last a set amount of time, 30min-1hour? with no winner/loser, just stats. And no sp, isk, profit of any sort other than knowledge, to be made.

im all for training mode
no SP, no WP, no isk, no gear loss upon death.
use current maps
can be set to godmode, combat FF-Off or combatFF-on
can be set to OPEN, squad, corp, alliance or invite only
can be set to 0, 1, 3, 5 cap points
time limit can be set at any number from 5 minutes to 1 hour in raising increments of 1 minute to give more flexibility
at the end it will show the usual battle report.
if we get this is could be the birth of competitive matches for our viewing pleasure and perhaps leagues.
2 divisions, *With vehicles, With-out vehicles 4v4 6v6 8v8 (2x4 on each side) *12v12 (2x6 on each side) *16v16 (3x4 on each team)
suit type costs x amount of points per type/meta (scout, Logi, Sent, assault, commando.....) and vehicles will cost a lot of points.
