Ahhh CCP,
FIrst off pilot suits are another SP sink for vehicle players who already have one of the biggest SP sinking careers in the game. CCP wants more balanced among vehicles but they are building a suit we are forced to Spec into if we want to play on even playing grounds with others.
Not only will it effect the balance skill wise meaning only high SP players rule the tank field. It will also create tons of balancing issues through the vehicle game play. CCP is already having enough trouble balancing the way it is with vehicles. This will just add more issues for them try to solve. I forsee this hurting vehicle players in the long run and taking CCP longer to fix any issues.
As Dark Cloud pointed out what the hell are you thinking with the gallentee pilot suit. I rarely agree with him but wow just give me another fun thing to make it easier to handle shield tanks. Can not wait I for see the caldari making modules last 50% longer while giving cpu and PG boost.
The suit itself will not overly help balance armor tanks against swarms and AV nades. But it will surely make me godmode vs any shield tank. |

IIRC, CCP Eterne (correct me if I'm wrong with the name) stated in a post that the near-future roadmap does include tank rebalancing so that they do have a role with / against infantry.
Please don't ask for source. I don't have it, nor do I feel like looking for it. It was a bullet-point list of what the short term (6 month) roadmap is, and vehicle balancing was on that list.

uprising has shown us to nail bite before each new "patch", this pilot suits going to cause a "sht storm" to borrow the words of seamie shmoove. it will either be totally worthless or way OP and make a bunch of noobs in militia gear cry again for nerf.. i'm expecting more of the latter since most vets have already quit |

Same goes for racial suits. I'm saying that they removed the Marauder class for "rebalancing", and right now we have standard variants of every vehicle. As it stands right now, I see them having a regular vehicle (Gunnlogi) that branches off into specializations (Enforcer, Marauder, Destroyer). To me, this isn't a bad way to go. Almost works like the Eve Online Tiericide iterations they're doing with all of their ships. |

The racial bonuses seem fine to me.
As for the complaint about SP: It'll take 1,517,280 SP to get Pilot Suit Level IV. Because of the way suit bonuses work, you'd be able to fit milita modules to the cheapest, most basic Pilot suit and still get -40% cooldown and your pick of +8% HP or +20% damage.
Seems like an incredibly reasonable SP investment to me. Were I specced into vehicles, I'd be salivating right now, not bi**hing. |

It is a SP sink that is not needed. sorry most tankers are ending up dropping 16m plus if they want fully speced out enforcer set ups. Once other tanks come into play meaning just to get Speced into one races tanks tank drivers will be dropping 24m plus SP to fill out a single race. So yes needing to drop another 2.7m SP into a pilot suit just to be a top dog tanker is a bad mechanic. And on top of that it creates more balancing isues what CCP is already having trouble with. |

It may be just because I'm a fattie, but I'm hungry for gravy. I'm the DUST masochist, I went AR Heavy because scouts are ****** and I had to skill out of dropships because I almost broke my controller in frustration. I went from loving dust to HATING it with Uprising, I'm only sort of getting over that, but it's not going so well.
I'm not annoyed that they have something else to skill into, I'm annoyed that they can skill into something that completely alters the entire vehicle vs AV paradigm that's already shifty at best... |

But we really don't care about the enforcer. It's literally useless, as the best way to tank now is by rail, and neither racial enforcer gets a bonus to rail. Caldari gets a bonus to missiles, and Gallente gets a bonus to blasters. Why have to go up close to use a blaster when PRO AV grenades are so easy to get? It literally makes no sense. On top of that, rails and blasters get a natural bonus against shields.
To top it all off, the last week they're doing that competition, you get a Falchion and a blaster. LOL They don't know what they're doing regarding vehicles. |

Swarms are primarily effective when you break cover, which you should be skeptical of doing when not pushing with your infantry anyways. AV grenades need to lose their seek and maybe a tiny bit of damage, otherwise, roll with a squad and communicate with your gunners. They're one of your first lines of defense against AV grenades. Believe it or not, while the HAV can be a solo death machine, it's actually supposed to require a little bit of communication to get the most out of it.
AV nades require you to get up close and personal. If you let them throw all 3 before you or your gunners kill them then that's on you, not them. |

Is your problem with the SP it will take to unlock pilot suits? The 190k SP it takes to get Gallente Light Dropsuits 3 to unlock the pilot suits? Because any SP put into the actual pilot suit skill is just like any SP put into the Vehicle tree because the pilot suit buffs vehicles and vehicles only.
Or do you just not want any more skills to improve vehicles with? |
