The EVE: Into the Second Decade book is just a couple of weeks from going to print. To finish things off, we'd like to get a few of your predictions for the months and years ahead. All you have to do is post your prognosis below and we will go through and pick the best ones, whether they be plausible, absurd or simply entertaining. Don't go mad; 50-100 words will be plenty.
If you need some help thinking what to write, here are a few questions to get you started.
1.What will be the game be like in in the future? 2.What feature am I looking forward to and why? 3.What is my greatest fear for the game?

I fear that CCP aren't capable of making anything but a sub-par lobby shooter with bad gameplay mechanics and gamemodes. I fear that CCP won't be trying to include the community in improving this game by reaching out to the community and listening to it's feedback. If these predictions are true Dust 514 will remain a non-competitive game with an extremely low playerbase in the months and years to come. I strongly hope CCP will make the nessecary changes to make a fantastic game for the dedicated console players interested in Dust 514. |

CCP are quite capable of making something other than a sub-par lobby shooter ... have you heard of Eve Online ... it's not sub-par ... it's not a lobby shooter ... it's not got bad gameplay mechanics or gamemodes.

In the future we will start virtually living in New Eden full time. Affordable VR headsets and immersion suits coupled with advancements in graphics will make this feasible. People will be able to make a living in New Eden after CCP open up the ISK to USD transfer capability. The limitation of either flying or fighting on the ground will also be lifted once all gaming platforms are merged into the gaming cloud and its virtual hardware. |

The essence of the game will be the tactical shooter that Dust has strived to be. With enough parts of the systems finally fleshed out, it will feel like a wholesome game and the major problems will have been dealt with. In short it will be a well rounded enjoyable first person shooter.
On my personal list I am looking forward to being able to enjoy all the racial heavies and the missing heavy weapons to make my choice to play the heavy class to its fullest potential possible. That would be for the near future, in long term I really hope that CCP will have the guts to integrate Dust with EVE Online so that we can take the fight to the space, space stations and maybe even to the supers.
My greatest fear will be that CCP will fall short on everything and not daring to try something that the EVE players might not like at first which would leave Dust short of its potential.

Zero gravity, and Low gravity battlefields. Boarding parties battle inside stations. The ideas alone is reason why.

I like to think more nuanced game modes that reflect the cutthroat nature of the universe of New Eden will become available in the future. It's a setting possessed of backstabbing, espionage, and other maneuvers that aren't necessarily open battlefields. Smaller groups of mercs infiltrating factories/labs with a focus on stealth, environmental awareness, and objectives that extend beyond "kill all the opposition". |

Looking into the future of EVE is a hard task, when i first started playing EVE i never thought i would still be here 10 years later looking at other games from the same universe while still enjoying the complexities of EVE online
So what does the future hold for the next 10 years, can i really still be playing, will it be another new game in New Eden or still in one or more of the current ever expanding worlds
I think im looking forward to an RTS version of EVE next, where i can run cities in my districts, all with new resources, then hiring Merc's from Dust 514 who would fight in the city i have built, all custom built maps
Would you run your city for profit or for war? buildings being destroyed and looted by pirates on the planet / landing on the planet, needing constant upkeep (resources from market etc)
linking up Districts next to each other for profit and for larger map sizes
unlimited players per map, with maps of unlimited size (based on the number of districts)
those 3 games linked very heavily Dust maps designed by New Eden RTS player Dust players transported by EvE pilots Resources transported by EVE pilots and NPC Pilots Dust players able to board EVE NCP ships (for looting, EVE Pilot needed to get them near the ship and carry loot away)
My only concern is that CCP will change CCP are a brave developer who does not sell out, they don't go for quick isk they are here to make great games they will last longer than one generation, they have the strength to take the risks needed to suceed I look forward to telling my Kids when they start gaming that i was there when New Eden was born, and when my grand kids start living in new Eden i can give them that old Thorax that's been sat in my hanger ready to help them along their career path |

A Blue Fleet fights above a planet against overwhelming red forces in hopes that they are able to get a hauler in position to transfer extra clones to a allied battle barge which sits in low orbit, where an intense high octane battle between EVR pilots is happening where reds are trying to disable the barge to stop any orbital assistance reaching the blue dusters who are currently fighting on the ground, attacking a red district which contains the control system for the cyno field jammer which sits on a heavly defended tower around one of the planets moons.
the hauler gets into position and transfers the clones to the barge, the EVR pilots push back the reds long enough that the battle barge is able to move the clones to the battlefield just in time, so that the dusters are able to make a comeback and win the battle disabling the control system which disables the cyno field jammer which allows the fleet to bring in there cap support onto the field and use this extra force to capture the system.

1. Mercs are hired by EVE players to board the starships of their enemies, and to engage in 64+ player complex large scale battles on the industrial moons and planets owned by EVE players. 2. PVE. All our current game modes are PVP, and cooperative gameplay with interesting enemy types will greatly increase the variety Dust offers. 3. That despite all strides forward, the moment-to-moment gameplay will always be generic and below the standard set by shooters and MMOFPS. Basically that Dust will always be playing catchup. |

A flash of light, so pure of plasma white tinged with greenish electrical hue, it almost overloads my optical sensors. I instinctively launch myself into a nearby ditch among the skeletal ruins of a long abandoned starship. Then a distant roar, a solid wall of sound accompanied by smoke and chaos, sweeps across the desolated landscape above. The ancient starship disintegrates as my atoms begin to unbind. I see my suit peel away, the skin strip from my hands, my body turn to dust as my reality is pulled back, my conciousness ripped from a material existence. I wake up really pissed.

1) Much more connected to EVE, strengthening both games.
2) Sooner I want the decoupling of Tactical Starship strikes from WP requirements. Later I would love to have EVE players place contract for the capturing of districts, so we can function like actual mercenaries.
3) The greatest fear I have is that CCP will worry too much about upsetting either game to the point where they don't make any bold moves at completely connecting them. I want to destroy PI infrastructure in my districts if they are there, I want to board ships and pod the pilot, I want to infiltrate CSAA's and abort/delay Supercap construction projects, I want to walk in stations and pop war targets in the face inside their captain's quarters. |

Once CCP proves that you can host multiple game worlds inside an integrated economy, it will be beautiful.
* Today, EvE players craft nearly everything in their own economy. Tomorrow, they will craft everything in the DUST514 economy too. * Today, EvE players hire haulers, mercenaries, and bounty hunters. Tomorrow, they will hire infantry, hacking mini-game specialists, ship skin artists, and more. * Today, DUST514 players fight sandbox battles. Tomorrow, DUST514 players will storm planets and stations. First null-sec, then low-sec, and then Jita will fall. Even CONCORD won't be able to stop the onslaught of immortal soldiers as we march across the universe. * Today, the plan is to have ISK and gear flow from EvE to DUST514. Tomorrow in the sandbox, anything can happen.
That will be beautiful. |

When Eve players realize the potential that Dust mercs have to alter the game in their favor, theyll utilize them to such an extent that the very meaning of the Eve-Dust link will come to fruition. The interactivity between two completely different gaming cultures and all of their vices and virtues will establish an entirely new milestone in the history of both gaming and New Eden...
...but if its one thing Ive learned from the bitter, dark and cold expanse that is New Eden - that bond wont past long.. Proximity breeds contempt, and though there may be thousands of kilometers between Planet and Station, distance never stopped a war. |

DUST 514 isn't a Shooter that you play; it's one that you live. These battlefields aren't for the feint of heart or the light of skill; this is where the best of New Eden comes to challenge their mettle. Be it fighting through enemy lines, destroying rogue drones, or lighting the Heavens on fire; your future is just a click away.
I'm gonna keep that there anyways, but I just realized that it's not quite what you were looking for, so I'll edit in something else
"The night is darkest just before the dawn. And I promise you, the dawn is coming" ~ The Dark Knight
DUST 514 may not have started as strong as others would have liked, but it improves month after month, week after week, even day after day. With a strong focus on core functionality and a dedicated approach to quick, quality updates, CCP will see DUST rise before them into yet another gaming Juggernaut. Through clear and focused communication with the community and the Council of Planetary Management, DUST 514 will seamlessly fuse with the universe of New Eden.
In short, DUST 514 is the light at the end of the tunnel. Keep moving steadily forward; there are few obstacles that cannot be overcome. |

Dust Mercs take part in on board ship raids forcing EVE corps to keep a few hired guns on the payroll to protect the larger ship investments. EVE pilots will be busy settling new systems while using DUST players to remove hostile local life from planets to make them viable for profit centers. DUST players will be able to take to space in large war ships to engage in fleet battle. EVE players will be landing ships on the planet surface, picking up Mercs and transporting them to other wise unreachable hot spots. EVE and Dust corps will be able to take part in every aspect of game play for both games. New Eden will be filled with two types of players, those who choose the way of the gun, and those who choose the way of the pilot. No matter the choice everyone in New Eden will be engaged in bloody conflict that spans every known system, and those yet to be discovered.

EDITING
2.What feature am I looking forward to and why?
A single universe where we are not Dust or Eve players but simply Mercenaries or Capsulers; not classified by our platforms but but our professions. This will give us a universe where your have to watch the sky and the ground and have friends in both. A universe where a corporation is not always a space fleet with a ground force unit but can be a ground force with some space support. In this universe getting too close to a planet means risking getting shot to salvage from a massive ground cannon not just by a pirate fleet.
3.What is my greatest fear for the game?
That the developers cave to the formula of presently successful FPS games. EvE is art, entertainment and vision. Console FPS games need to be given a chance to become that too. They have been held back by developers with limited vision and by publishers whose eye is looking out for their share holders. There will be failure and much criticism and I hope CCP have enough plate to tank the abuse of small minds and bring the future of FPS games closer. |

My fear is that CCP sill listen to the griefers and decide that the game isn't worth pursuing. I hope that the fact that we still have many thousand players on average logging on most times of the day it will be enough for them to keep developing further and further with the game. |

As with most items in Eve, more player control over Dust514. I'd really like to see a "command" function to battles, where one person on each team would designate where installations drop, direct the team towards objectives, call in Orbital Strikes of larger caliber, and whatever else we've yet to see. Player owned war barges. Player owned and organized everything in short.
I left SWTOR because I grew up on games like Tie Fighter and Rogue Squadron, and SWTOR had little to nothing like that, and figured Eve was close enough. The level of immersion, of community in Eve and the grand scale of the universe is everything I've wanted in a game for a long time and Dust514 extends that immersion and expansive universe. It is my utmost fear that the game will fail to keep everyone's attention until the master strokes are released. It is the sense that above you can have a raging space fleet battle brawling ship to ship while on the ground, fighters struggle back and forth to secure orbital cannons and space elevators that will always have my support.
Finally, more cinematics. Always appreciated.

I believe that, in the future, Mercenaries will log on and have so many options they will never complain (besides the trolls) again. I believe, EVEntually, DUST will be the only game still played by Americans on the PS3. I envision
- Storming a Gurista base with a team of corpies
- Clearing out drones on a plasma planet for salvage and whatever else we can find.
- Suppressing civilian rebellions on an aquatic world
- Assassination missions where the targets are NPC or whatever EVE pilot had a bounty and station logged.
- Custom fortifying ones home district(s) Seeing snow accumulate of a turret and fall off as it fires
- Storming Cap ships and fighting around giant modules thinking "So that's what an active hardener actually looks like."
- Blowing Cap ships and POSes out of the sky or watching the fleet warps in the sky above a PC battle.
- Battling through a district where a player set up the outposts and turrets with defense in mind.
Why? It would be a new reason to log on EVERY day. You wouldn't log on to choose between capture-the-flag and death match. If you needed isk go hunt a pirate! Pod person with a 2 Bil bounty had better hire security or lose his implants before he relogs. Clear drones for salvage and bounty, Disable the DD on an Avatar or save an Aeon for your favorite alliance at a reasonable (or not) sum. Because playing gets you skills, skills gets you isk, isk gets you suits, suits get you better matches, better matches are more fun.
I fear that as complicated as this game is to program and develop, the flame will die out before it has reached its potential. |

here's how i think things will play out;
for the next 6 or so months. Dust will basically be on life support with a small but loyal playerbase, hoping things will get better. during these 6 months is the monthly updates ccp has been harping about. Each update will be rather small but taken cumulatively will lay a groundwork for improvement.
the 6 months after that will probably be further improvement, adding in missing content and just smoothing things out. This is when people (may) start to return, and the active playerbase starts to rise.
after next summer is when ccp has added most of what they promised from launch. At this point, they begin the media blitz to attract additional attention. Most of the big review sites will probably do a "second" review of the game, and it'll get relatively positive reviews while still being inferior to other competition like Destiny. i'm seeing 7s and 8s. This brings in more players who want to try something new or interesting.
this is a critical moment. If ccp has played this right, they will have added much more meaningful interaction between EVE and DUST, so most anyone playing dust can influence eve in at least some way. either through FW or joining a corp and doing PC. If ccp has done this, the new players will probably stick around and get caught up in eve politics and space-wanking.
at that point things just steadily improve over the next year with the steady trickle of content, and dust begins to look like EVE in playerbase (small, buy always growing very slowly).
what i'm saying is, is dust won't be fun for a year or two |

A new class of Wormhole will be discovered, combined with the mining of ring resources this will push an even more active and exploratory bent for the industry minded of EVE , and those that prey upon them.
The possibilities created by this will be compounded by the instabilities of clone Mercs boots resounding in New Eden as Dust 514 hits 0.0 Sec and Sov mechanics get an overhaul making it so things will never be the same again.
In this new state of instability and opportunity profits will rise, fortunes will be lost and blood will flow throughout New Eden on both the Land and in the Stars... But so will the ISK.
And New Eden, as always, will never be the same again.

CCP is going to have many opportunities on multiple fronts; player migration to PS4, then competition with Planetside 2. EVR will be made, but EVE and EVR will face competition from Star Citizen. In facing direct competition for market share, CCP will have tough choices to make.
CCP will reorganize their development focus on being user friendly while trying to remain hardcore. Into the Future, all 3 games will be smoother and have better graphics. CCP will be lauded for their unrivaled interconnectivity, players will fight for the fate of entire systems with all three games present in a fast paced environment.
EVE will continue to grow and with competition; CCP will have to step up their game and New Eden will benefit greatly. CCP will lose market share, but with multiple great games, the Space MMO genre will add new players. |

From beginning to start, this game improved a lot. I remember when there was no name tags and I had to aim at the guy to say if its red or green and when it had ps1 graphics. My only worries are the rate at which this is improving is not fast enough and although I run assault suits and am enjoying it, scouts and heavies aren't too happy. In the future I hope dust looks close to the 2009 model or better and hopefully the player base increases. |

1.I see a New Eden where Eve players hires Dust Mercs to go and extract the damsel in distress or any mission items from broken up stations in dead space or hire Dust Mercs to capture or defend POCO'S.
Famous collectors hiring Dust players to go deep into sleeper wormholes to extract sleeper biotechnology or artifacts from alien stations unknown to man. An environment so dark and twisted , you never know what you will find around the next corner.
A New Eden where Dust and Eve Markets have merged , a galaxy where your dreams dictate your actions a place where everything is possible.
2. Player Owned Customs Office (POCO) is the answer to many current challenges in Dust .
To Dusties unfamiliar to what a POCO is , it is a space station above a planet , Eve players use this space station as a link to move resources (PI) from the planet into space and then to respective markets . Every planet can have one POCO anchored to it .The owner of this POCO sets a tax rate so everything you move through this space station from the planet you have to pay x amount of tax on the total value of shipment.
Ownership of this little feature can make or break the viability for everyone farming on the planet and is well worth fighting for. In high sec Concord own these stations so its a no go zone but as far as low GÇô sec , nul GÇô sec and wormholes go ..... its player owned.
If Eve players had to start putting contracts out for defending or attacking these POKOS , suddenly there will be a HUGE platform for additional interaction namely: -This will give the opportunity for the big block Dust alliances to have additional stream of revenue and action. -It will allow the medium and small Dust Corps to also get involved and make extra ISK. -Due to the fact that there are so many planets being used for PI there will be more than enough action for everyone. -I really like the fact that you as an Eve player can have a whole Dust corp on your pay role ...and donGÇÖt have to be a super power to make use of the Dust Corporations. -Its not complicated, the Dust corp attacking the POCO and winning the match takes over the station and hand ownership over to new owner for a fee. GÇô -A nice change if we could have a map/structure resembling a space station and fighting in it. -Add additional game play where an Eve pilot have to collect DUST players in a ship from the MCC and deliver them to the POCO ( Its not a long trip ). So there is a chance that the whole squad and Eve pilot can get blown up by other Eve pilots or the defender.
3. My grandpa always said "if you dream , dream about the stars cause if you fail you will land up on the clouds" . My fear is that CCP are dreaming about clouds and eventually end up on the rocks.

I've loved the premise of EVE for a few years, the fact you can actually do as you please and play the game how YOU want to play it, not how the developers want you too. I tried EVE and failed a few times before re-subbing (again) and getting invovled when DUST went live.
So what drew me back(To a CCP game)? For starters, the fact that the entire universe spread accross two entirely different platforms, on two enitrely different games was finally being merged into one 'sandbox'.
This for me was the next step, it literally turned a light on inside my head. This is the game for me. I want to murder people relentlessly.
So where to go from now?
Merging the two into a proper 'Entity' same economy and player interaction for starters. I dont think anyone EVE side is truely going to appreciate DUST until they can extort the DUST mechanics. This is human nature, nothing is for free. Until we start spending money that effects the EVE economy theres not really much to 'care' for.. Yet.
Imagine (Yes use your imagination... jesus..) walking around JITA station will 1000 DUST mercs looking for work whilst your trying to sell em guns :). Or coming to some sort of arrangement maybe...
DUST pirates,
Defender; 'PLEASE SAVE US!' Mercs; You want that titan saved? 'NO PROBLEM'.
Attacker;' Leave the titan, ill double your payment ' Mercs; 'What your offering me more to stay OFF the station/titan? 'NO PROBLEM'
Titans bring me on to the next part, Null space. This is truely where all of the hard work will come to bare fruits, you need to take down that capital fleet? Have a squad of mercs who will disable the triage carriers? Whos going to win that fight..
Need that multi-billion Station saved? Send in the dust mercs and keep the skies clear.
So many possibilites.. Too much time.
So that sums up the game in the future and the bits i'm looking forward too.
My biggest fear?
That im going to die before this happends.

Reason why I came to this game, was the fact that vehicle game play was going to rival that as a equal to infantry game play. So many games have vehicles but it is a second choice and does not truely effect the game because of the difficulty to kill with them and the how easy everyone can remove them from the field. Vehicles are one of the biggest challenges to play right and create a strategic game play.
As dust has been moving into the future here vehicle game play has been falling behind. People have had trouble dealing with this new challenge of vehicles in Dust 514 so CCP has answered their call to make taking vehicles out easier. So this has become my biggest fear that CCP will continue along these lines and never truely balance vehicles to rival infantry game play. Thus allowing skilled players to succeed outside the normal role that other games offer. |

1.What will be the game be like in in the future? 2.What feature am I looking forward to and why? 3.What is my greatest fear for the game?
The game will become a weapon for goonswarm to wield, creating the ability for them to afk control sov systems (if that becomes the final game mechanic) through isk and reallocate those human resources to other nefarious ends.
The feature I am looking forward to is the integration with Dust's economy. It will enhance my Dust play because I will be able to fund my Dust toon to play as vicariously as I like and I will be able to leverage the Dust economy for Isk gains in EVE.
My greatest fear is my worst experience; the SP system. In EVE I get frustrated that others have more SP then me because they played longer... but its fair because everyone has the same potential. Dust creates this environment where SP is only accessible through a certain window. It does not encourage you to play more, but creates a feeling of "us vs them" between the player and CCP. Where the player is trying to not feel slighted by CCP when they can't play this week etc so they AFK through maps or find other work arounds. This weakens the game and weakens the trust. Trust and addiction are the two driving factors in selling a game (ask your marketing ppl). The casual players trust CCP has their best interest in mind so they play, the gaming addicts play until they hit their cap... then you take their fix away (bad for business). IMO in the long term the SP system (cap specifically) will be the most damaging to the player retention and gain over the years. |

I Believe, that in the Future, DUST will grow from the current simplisticism that it has of, join Lobby, Cap objective, Kill something, Get Munched by Proto squad, repeat last, repeat last, repeat last.
That there can be great blunders and Decisive battles, that mean more then that you don't get clones anymore. That Corp Ciizenship is a Must to elevate yourself to being renowned amongst both DUSTers and EVE Players.
I Look forward to Trading and Crafting. It would give a reason for New Corps to join PC, besides that PC lets you own Virtual Land. It would mean that without your Land, you have to play for your resources to sell your gear./
I Fear that, by the time DUST is elevated to the Status of greatness, and organicity that EVE has, they Player base will trickle away to those who don't need to buy Aurum to support DUST. Then, and only then, will DUST die. |

[yupp, this got very long, but I couldn't finnish until I actually was finished. Apologies for any linguistically misconceptions. CCP, feel free to pick the part(s) you find suit]
I imagine a future where the Eve universe have expanded to be accessible in many different ways on many different platforms, and be a cultural phenomena worthy articles in well-renowned magazines like Time, Economist and perhaps even Elle.
The major parts are still Dust and Eve. The interaction have almost grown beyond distinction.
There-¦s been a major conflict between some of the larger corps in Eve online. It escalates to be more than sovereignty over planets and space. It came to be about the very existence of these corporations. Dust corporations are hired to form barriers between solar systems and make ambush preparations ground to space, as well as hideouts for their contractors. New (and very expensive) interplanetary installations can keep most unwanted visitors away.
The conflict grows, and sees the whole structure and balance of New Eden tremble.
One Dust corp, realizing there is no good end to this, takes matters into their own hands. They continue to play ball, like the henchmen they have been considered. But through sophisticated infiltration, bribing and fake ground conflicts, they manage to create a scenario where the major participants get weakened, and even opens a hole for a turnaround. All without arousing conspiracy suspicions among the big players. Or so they think they are.
A diversion is set up. One corp is lead to prepare for an intense cross space-ground clash. They are in a tight spot and desperate, so they go with a Titan. When close enough, just before they start to wonder what's really going on, the mercenaries fires an EMP-like weapon against their precious Titan, temporarily lowering its defences. Smugglers, hired from the darkest corners of New Eden, pick up the mercenairies and take them to the Titan for some boarding action.
But it is still a good way from being over. They have to make their way trough the ship to get to the command deck. Along the way are guards, droids, sentry guns, security doors, hazardous areas (related to keep the ship afloat) and booby traps. There is no seizable CRU on board, and contact to TACNET is cut off, so a death is permanent. After all, this is not meant to house cloned soldiers of this kind.
After a long and harsh struggle, we finally reach the command deck. All while people all over the world have followed the whole thing via livestreams. They expected a grand clash, but instead got to witness an unprecedented foil maneuver.
As the commander of the operation, I step forward to the nervous captain and say "It seems this little vendetta has come to its conclusion". And then we close the doors and start negotiate.
The outcome may result in anything from leaving the ship in the current condition, following a special agreement, which can consist of a service or any kind of grudging cooperation, we loot the ship on valuable things, perhaps to the point that the ship cannot be used, and as far as that we let the ship crash and burn on the nearest planet. New Eden will never be the same. |

What will be the game be like in in the future?
the most advanced shooter game in the current gamer universe, probably will define what future generations of fps will be and set the marker for the next stage in the evolution of gaming itself.
What feature am I looking forward to and why?
there are 3 1- im looking forward to the jet fighters, mainly because I want to fly and rule the skies, they are just calling on my name to be the feared and merciless hunter from the skies. 2- I want to be able to eventually walk outside of my merc quarters without me having to go into instant battle, probably hang in a pub or something and chat with other mercs and pilots. 3- the player controlled market like what eve online has, that would be one of the major things that will set this game apart from other fps.
What is my greatest fear for the game?
failing before it even gets started seriously because of the lack of patients that console players have.
im what you would call a fanboy but im proud of it because I love this game, its the most in depth game iv ever played and iv gotten so into the lore and the history of eve online and the connection we have to it through dust 514, im aware of all the stories and all the legends, rumors, myths and facts of every empire.. With the new equipment and weapons coming out, more and more people will want to try this game after hearing it from their friends, online, and etc. For a EVE Pilot and a Dust Merc I can say that EVE is going to be one hell of an experience for online players in the future. Both noobs and Vets. I also believe new tech will come out and EVE will be one of the most played and loved game of this time. Well this is my opinion on the matter. |

I look foreword to planet sized battles involving heavy teamwork from both EVE and Dust players, battles that would rage on for days...even weeks......hell.....even months. Battles that would be so large and legendary that stories will be told about it, battles that separate the true mercs from the soldiers with trigger fingers and a bit of cash. Battles on terrains completely unheard of before.....battles in the middle of space on the exterior of titans and frigates involving mercs.....as for my fears....I fear the guy who has a bigger gun and a better vehicle than me. What I look foreword to? The new terrains and maps to duke it out upon, the new weapons, vehicles, dropsuits.....perhaps races (just throwing it out there). The ever evolving nature of this game that I have come to love, the ever changing, expanding game that has not ceased to amaze me is what I want to continue and thrive onto the second decade. |

By my opinion the future of Dust 514 will likely see expansion with the eighth generation of home video gaming consoles as the PS4 narrowly beats out the Xbox One in hardware, notably in price, and significantly in policy to pull in more users. In the year between now and then, Dust will slowly but surely improve itself in the style that CCP developed EVE to the solid game it is known to be, and directly relative to that, how it nurtured and looked to its renown community that in many ways makes that game as great as it is and yet could be. Which is to say slowly, steadily, and occasionally (getting drunk and) making mistakes, but ultimately improving and expanding in the oldest tradition of humanity.
Where exactly this will lead is difficult for anyone to gauge, however, it's my hope that the universes of Dust and Eve gradually come ever closer together while ever refining gameplay, growing interesting and positive social networks and bonds between players, for the first time creating a wholly enjoyable hybrid realm of entertainment that is seamless between two dramatically different genres and consoles, creating a scale that ranges from a single commercial farm on a backwater planet owned and run by a player, leased from a player corporation, up to the first PC elected (or by less democratic methods, installed) as leader of an intergalactic nation and all the other unfettered living player cogs in-between for a universe of unparalleled play potential that offers as much of everything to everyone as is feasible.
If I had a fear, it would be that in the first year of Dust's 'dust-off', that like the flying coffin of a dropship guided by inexperienced hands it, after floundering about, quickly meets the ground with a terminal velocity, taking any player dreams, and future endeavors by CCP with it, returning in essence to the figurative notion of its namesake.
But here's hoping. Here's hoping that ten years from now, and perhaps some more after that, Dust, and Eve, and any future modules of play are even more and even better.

1.What will be the game be like in in the future? This game will be ever changing full of all the drama and meta game that brought so many EVE players here to begin with, and kept players like myself.
2.What feature am I looking forward to and why? I cant wait for PVE myself but mentions of "breach combat" taking place on board of ships also gives me the shivers.
3.What is my greatest fear for the game? I fear that this game will die before it takes off. I'm not going any where, I LOVE this game, I sold COD and bought aurum with the profit I will never look at FPS the same after Dust514 I just hope it has enough of a core audience that YOU, the DEV's don't give up on US the players.

CCP Eterne wrote:The EVE: Into the Second Decade book is just a couple of weeks from going to print. If you haven't already pre-ordered the EVE Collector's Edition, you can do so through our official store today. We're aiming to collect all these stories by July 8th! So get them in now!
I fear that in the future this game will only stay mmo by name and not actual gameplay..........I fear that the 64 person multiplayer that was mentioned will never appear...... I hope 4 improved gameplay and soldier controls as any game with fast fluid soldier movement and controls is fun at both close and far range....example is crisis were you get to feel immortal even tho you really are not eg you can jump 10 metres and grondsmash killing 6 people ...... add they ability to grab people and and kill them but devise a way to fight 4 your freedom to get out the attacks grasp................ my biggest feer is that aim assist will turn this from a skill based game to who ever fires ther gun first wins game..... what makes cod a crap game because its so easy to kil people......... I think a balocs gar 21 with proper aim assist would be way to op my biggest want 4 this game that I have is 4 ccp to enable stereoscopic 3d |

What I want to beleive: I want the game to STILL be alive, I would like AV and Vehicles to be balanced properly, AR's nt ruling the battlefield as simply the best gun. More customization available loudout wise so players can truely be unique rather than everyone running the same fitting. Games to get to the size of 100 vs 100, EvE and Dust to effect each other more rather than simply saying that EvE is connected to Dust as a sales pitch when in reality the two are pretty seperate from one another.
What the game will be in future at this rate: Dead, I hate to say it, I WANT to like this game but it's gonna be dead, dead and forgotten and classed as a terrible game all around by people in the future due to CCP listening to what the players say as if what they say isn't going to be bias. At this rate your gonna end up with a small population of stricly AR users because everyone else has been pushed away from your game by them. Wanna drive a vehicle? forget it since infantry carry grenades that nerf tanks, Wanna use a weapon other than the AR? well feel free, you'll do less damage overall and generally will be under ranged against AR users. This game shows so much promise and if EvE is anything to go off then Dust has the potential to be a great game with CCP but I have to be a doom sayer here because frankly if the game was good, people wouldn't be complaining. Forums wil die for one of two reasons...1. People have left it because they feel their gaming time when they could play solitaire instead (People going AFK in MMC's is only the first stage of a game dying) or option 2. The game is fine and no one has complaints
Tho I'm wasting my time since I bet no one in CCP will read this or even care since they'll e happy with their 2000 players they'll have, tho anythings possible |

you end up spending aur. in dust which is not equivalant to the amount you spend to keep your eve account going and buying extra stuff in eve with real money
if you look at this way..no one is saying dont spend money if you wish to do so...but if you look at eve you pay 20 a month each month still 200 dollars a month...if ccp is going to fail they did a good job for those that spent hundreds upon thousands on a dead future.
eve is tho..a very great game, but not everyone can afford it. |

DUST514 is probably one of the most ambitious projects undertaken by any game company, I look forward to when everything that we saw in the Future Vision comes to light. I have no doubts that CCP can do it, I just hope that by then, I'd still be around to see it. |
