The vets will leave too, for better games, better systems, etc.
Once you have your main role pimped out, it is very easy to look back at how long it took and say meh.
I only have two more levels of the vehicle scanning skill left, and my armor build is complete. Since there is no point in wasting SP into a Vayu, and I have never been a shield tanker, I am just going to save my SP for the pilot suit.
Saving SP for something that isn't released, and might not even be worth it, is not an encouraging place to be. So my desire to grind out to keep my K/D climbing is falling rapidly.

I think I've played for almost a year. I'm sticking with it. I enjoy Dust for what it is and what it will be. On a good day, you can have an good team and a even better squad, reacting tactically to the ever changing battlefield. That's one of the reasons why I love Dust and talk about it often. I've seen tides shift dramatically in a matter of seconds with intensity levels beyond most console FPS games. There's just a satisfaction and a certain immersion to it that keeps me coming back. |

If they keep giving people things to aspire to, basically making fits more powerful, then they need to come up with some type of player segregation that doesn't break the game.

Then just go already. You just sound like a whiney little douche with no more in you're life but the game and the forums.
Oh wait, you won't leave will you. No, because you want to be heard. You want to feel if people actually care.

^^^ This! If you're not happy with the game then leave, nobody will remember you in a few months and nobody will care that you left. If you can't be patient then that's your own problem. Go play PS2 and QQ on their forums when you're not happy with that game.
I'm sick of all the QQ threads on these forums. Say something constructive or keep your mouth shut. There's only one type of moaning I like and that is not the type that is done on internet forums. I love all these keyboard warriors who talk about things like they have some devine right to complain about everything. Go complain somewhere else already or complain to someone who actually gives a kitten what you think. |

I'm getting kind of tired of the game because it feels like it's getting more and more about less and less. Most weapons have become either completely useless or maybe decent in one particular situation, all the vehicles are trash and 2 out of 3 suit classes aren't really viable.
And the only weapon that still even works has an optimum range of what, 40m? Max of 70m? American reference here I know...but 40m the range of a ****** high school quarterback that just got cut from the team. The distance from home plate to second base is about 39m. I know there's no direct comparison between real like and a game but we're on the other side of the universe having gunfights with our plasma rifles at the same distance I can hit a ball with a stick when I **** up my swing.

They are, it's just hopeful that they keep taking a peek back to see if things are fixed.
There are probably some insane new players who like the idea of the game that will put up with getting completely owned for 4 or 5 months until they can compete. Possibly longer if they aren't crazy enough to run both boosters non-stop.
I just hit 14 million SP, if I stay completely focused I could have this character completely specialized in about a month and a half. Maybe a bit longer to max out biotics and such.
I say that because after that it doesn't matter much. I can only bring the complete beastmode with that one specialization. It's time they look at removing the SP cap and accelerating passive SP quite a bit.
If there was ever a worry that the vets would get too big of a lead on these guys I think we are already at a point where it can't get much worse. They need to focus 100% of their concerns about players to the new players. And that is giving them a chance to get competitive.
I can run proto in a pub match against newbs and take on 3 or 4 of them while reloading. I can just move around a bit and patiently reload, drop a nanohive, start throwing fluxes, and then drop the pain with the MD and take them out.
In addition to removing the cap and accelerating SP they need to start new players out with at least 2 million SP. On top of that they need to allow for respecs to let them clean up their path after they learn what's going on. |

He doesn't hate it. He likes it. He's trying to help.
See you new people will eventually become bitter when the glaring issues start to wear at you. He's just come back from a break. He's one of the best tankers in the game. He tries to help new players out in squads, even random ones we pick up from pub matches.
The imperfects are similar. People loved to hate them, but they did care about the game. They tried to help.
I've put a lot of time and a lot of money into this game. I would hope that CCP does care what players like myself and Charlotte have to say. They ought to name a build after me with the amount of AUR I've bought in the year (nearly a year) I've been playing. I'd have courtside seats if I were buying tickets from a sports team. Ownership listens to the folks with those seats. |

Don't you have a corp member or alliance member that's a CPM? Why not give him decent points to take up with CCP instead of all this forum rubbish?
Do you think all of this "I'm bored" threads help the game? Or do you think they might actually put newer players off actually trying it? |

I don't think anything will turn new players off more than getting stomped on by vets with 14x the SP they have.
I think they are going to be so consumed with getting stomped they won't understand the core issues within the game that are broken. How could they? To them even a duvalle isn't working because they aren't at Prof 5 and don't have enough HP to survive a gunfight.
If they buff vehicle PG by 10% the vets will be able to tell you what the implications are within a few hours. If the implications are good or bad it won't matter much because CCP won't react to their suggestions for months even though they usually spot on. < things like this are causing the bitterness. |

Yeah, have to agree on the new player concerns front.
I don't know what they are thinking... but I find the solutions they put in place are rather ham fisted attempts at fixing things. The battle academy, for example is not a great in-game source of fun. They need to put in a lot more thought so they can find a game suitable solution that enhances the fun within imposing artificial barriers on players.
Just an off the cuff dumb idea and not a suggestion, so I hope I won't get roasted, but having some type of planet to planet transportation system, with costs based on the expected skill level, could allow people to self-segregate. The beginner would not have the coin to get there (to high level planets) and would get owned if they did. Also, due to the risk/reward concept the ISK and drops in those areas would attract higher level folks who wouldn't want to waste time stomping newbs.
To me, this is a lot more fun that slapping people into a battle academy. It has the chance to add to the concept of the game itself while serving a purpose. More fixes should end up with this type of effect instead of breaking something or acting like a clunky barrier that gets in the way of enjoyment. |
