CCP.
You give the goddamn militia LAV A 60% HP BOOST NO ONE ASKED FOR, YET CONTINUE TO F**** OVER DROPSHIP PILOTS.
I've lost 20 Million just cause every time I start getting about 2-3 kills in my Assault Drop ship, it's impossible (literally, you hear tankers complain, but there problems are nothing to this) to stay alive.
My ship costs me 947 000 ISK. Yet, any 30 k ISK forge gun just instantly kills it. It's got 4 k total HP, but it's just ridiculous.
So, as of now and similar to every build, drop ships get **** on since again.
CCP give drop ships a 70% HP boost, reduce the cost, or do something, because we're just million ISK flying deathtraps as of now.
Also, most kills I've gotten in a game with my Python is 13, and I lost 2 mill either way. |

******* ridiculous give every bloody AV weapon a damage boost but leave dropships health the same. I lost a dropship in a match today that I wouldn't have list in a match yesterday cause of this damn damn damage buff. |

As for the DShips, they need some luv yea, but don't touch the Forge. Your best defense against them is trucking around. Takes at least 4 seconds to prime the thing, and it glows like a beacon... if this were a realistic war game you wouldn't ask them to nerf the RPG for the sake of your Tilt-rotor/Helicopter. |

And 4 seconds is very important to dropship pilots, by the time we get fit your already charging again, in those 4 seconds we have to regain control of the aircraft, figure out what we got hit by and from where, get our vehicle moving which involves building momentum which takes time, and activate modules which often have a 2-3 second start up time. When your flying every second counts.
And here's an interesting fact, an onikuma(free LAV) has under the new HP buff, 93 more base shield than the python, and only 274 less armour, yes on base stats the free shield LAV is only 181 HP weaker than the 690k ADS. |

That works both ways. We are shooting a shield piercing rod of destruction designed to destroy your shielded flying vehicle. You think New Eden spent all of it's time just making a DShip and not something to kill it? |

I so hope they meant they want to give that HP boost to ALL dropships, Assault and otherwise. When has anyone ever complained that their free 'car' gets blown up easily?
This game has the potential to be badass!
The dropships either need a 25-50% inbuilt resist bonus or the same percentages in a HP buff.
I was in my python last night (nearly totally maxed out sp wise, yes i did go there) i was circling a few red dots at an objective, trying my best to hit them with my proto missile splash, when out of no where a forge gunner spawns in, so i hual ass out of there, but im unable to even escape range before he gets 2 - 3 forge blasts on me and fucks me in the bum hole.
Funnily missiles are alright you might even say balanced. They hit you, do some reasonable damage but you can escape and come back later on. The forge gun on the other hand just welps dropships too hard. Part of the problem being the collision impact really makes it hard to keep control.
Oh by the way I would LOVE a gun camera for my pilots gun.
Incidentally i must have lost about 20m`s worth of dropships so far testing them. about 1m ish per time.... |

I have to ask you a serious question Are you sure you didnt just crash you drop ship in panic because someone shot at you? Because Ive taken shots and ships with a rifle and seen pilots freak out and try to run away and end up crashing themselves and losing the ship |

Yeahhhh its a damn shame you cant go 20 and 2 with a troop transportation vehicle..... Dropships should be used for moving troops quickly from point A to point B, your NOT meant to run and gun like some tank. Your purpose is to hot drop heavy forgers on a tank. I don't know what you guys expect, I mean the dropship is essentially a flying LAV..... its advantage as an LAV are that it doesn't have to worry as much about structures and other things. Trust me, as maps get bigger so too will the importance of Dropship pilots. |

Hitpoints-wise dropships are ok to me. They should however be much cheaper, both in chassis and modules. That way you wouldn't fret it if you lost one. We'd see much more daring maneuvers in public matches than right now.
Right now the ISK-value of dropships is so high that the dropship itself is worth more to the pilot than any tactical advantage on the battlefield. That's crazy. |

tanks are OP in infantry-only matches with people without AV weapons,
what to do?
people complain about tanks because they get owned by them but the people who are complaining aren't using AV.
so because of that DS pilots get screwed over.
who cares about LAVs so much to complain that they are dying too quickly whilst driving them? are the complainers even taking note of which gun they're being killed with?
I could say ''dam I just got taken out in one shot, that thing is OP'' whereas in reality I was shot with a proto weapon with skills whilst driving a standard LAV with no vehicle skills.
this game will take months to balance out :/ |

No I'm well aware that AV weapons would have developed to counter shields, but you'd expect for there to be an additional defense mechanism, such as some kind of threat detection or countermeasure to help balance things out. Right now any level of AV is enough to keep dropships high in the sky, being ineffective and not contributing much to our team. |

Yeah it's something that can't exactly be done now that turret elevation is a bit crippled. Either way, risk-reward. Go ask EVE pilots about this sort of thing. |

DROPSHIPS are outmatched in nearly every single form of engagement on this game.. from the lonely sniper to the ASSAULT FORGE GUN
even small arms fire has the potential to shootdown A DROPSHIP if not take out the gunner rendering the air platform completly useless

I think Dropships need to get 2x the HP and Half the price.
Still, Don't know why no one wants to nerf the Forge gun. That's what the majority of all tankers and Dropship pilots are dying to, not the guy with 3 Packed AV grenades and a nanohive that a tank can easily run away from or completely evade with Dropships.
The forge gun is a problem that no one wants to acknowledge. |

I have, had to park my HAV so it was facing up and slammed a round into its thrusters, as it gain control slammed it with a second rail to the front and watched it crash in flames. most of the time I don't bother because its so hard for most pilots to keep a target on my HAV that it is only a few rounds hit and then my passive recharge beats the damage of the missile. now the logi dropships I take carefully aim to hit the thrusters, they are more pain to keep alive for the ground guys with the MRCU. |

+1. They did everything completely backwards. Dropships should have got the 70% HP boost. Tanks should've got the 50% boost. And LAVs get nothing. But giving all vehicles a 100% PG boost would solve everything. Just saying |

Once again, there could be a countermeasure to the countermeasure. Thinking along the lines of 'anti-anti-missile-missiles' will keep us going in circles forever. Also, the Forge and other railgun and rocket systems don't lock on period, so there can be no early warning system (Swarms are MISSILES, not rockets. Rockets in EVE nomenclature are strong, but dumb, missiles are smart but weaker.) |

Nice work fool. I don't advocate buffs for anything. The only change I want to HAVs is the elevation fixed so I have somewhat of a fighting chance against assault dropships.
Dropships as they are have double the survival rate against infantry then they did in builds prior. |

I've lost one to a tank, I was hovering just above the ground and wasn't paying attention to my surroundings, he came up behind me and surprised me. Large turrets kill dropships very quickly. |

Well, just going to put it out there not to fret; not all infantry players are that dense. I run infantry and specced on FG, and I agree, dropships are in dire need of serious improvements. Those dudes on IRC don't know what they're talking about. Before they're anywhere near being "fine", dropships could use a +100% buff, and AV warning systems, and proper WP rewards for the pilot. If you're wondering why I'd push so much for this, it's because properly functional dropship economy would only feed into helping combat get more diverse. And that's sorely needed.
What petition can I sign so they hurry up on fixing this? |

Don't think that giving a dropship a RDV's health will help them in the long run, we'd just get nerfed when AV guys rightly complained that we'd be unkillable. I would argue that a 10-20% health buff, with a warning/countermeasure system in place would put us close to the balance between AV and survivability. And a price nerf of at least a 100,000 on the logi and assault ships and another reduction to the tune of 50,000 on the standard and logi ships. IMO that would make flying much more affordable for both new pilots and veteran ones, but still mean that good ones require a significant ISK investment.
I'd also add a 10% buff to pg, would help dropships in their fittings but would prevent them from tanking excessively.
Please bear in mind as a dropship pilot this is from a slightly biased viewpoint, but then again no more biased than an av'ers. Edit: I'm onto something here, time to go to feedback. |

So if we had realistic technology, why wouldn't we just release a swarm of nanites on the field to eat our enemies from the inside like the Vashta Nerada? Answer: because it'd be fracking stupid, gameplay wise. That's not even getting into things like "why don't we just precision strike the pants off of the entire team?"
What I'm getting at is, drop the realism discussion. We're pretty far from realistic here, because realistic isn't fun. Neither is being insta-gibbed without any opportunity to react. |

I agree that the dropships need more hp or damage resistance. But what I want more is more useful purposes for the ship. The maps are too small for the the ship to be viable as transport, unless you have a cru. My suggestion is that methods are needed to be implemented that draw greater attention from teammates to a ship or vehicle with a cru, like make the announcement in your face so that randoms are more drawn to it... And a way to tell or force players to drop, maybe a button that when pressed alerts and advises the occupants of an important area to get out at. |

there is a reason real pilots dont fly into a hot LZ. u want to be a flying tank in a personnel carrier. i have yet to see these assault dropships or strafing runs.
i love poppin dropships but it has become more difficult cause my forge gun now has slow travel time. take a lesson from tanks. stick n move. u can also fly higher than my forge gun can shoot. |

My mistake I misread you there, but you did the same thing. Getting a warning tone when a swarm launcher locks you, not everytime someone fires one, as for missile turrets by your very logic they should be renamed rocket turrets. And frankly I would rather know that a forge gun is being charged somewhere (as annoying as it would be) than only find out when I've been shot. |

so because of that DS pilots get screwed over.

it's actually fine atm.. they're flying the wrong ship for what they're trying to do. AV vs DS is balanced, AV does not need to be nerfed for dropships sake, then everyone else suffers vs tanks and lavs because of nerfed AV...

Av gets 10% dmg boost befor that I was flying an armor dropship it was balanced I could take 2-4 hits even from forge gunners befor I had to run that gives time for me or gunners to find and shoot back
Forge gunners sorry but ur op to are dropships over whealming dmg, almost infinate range givin on the size of current battle fields, 4 sec recharge my reppers barely get a rep in that time not to mention the challenge of finding u and oh ya we got to get moving and we due to physics limitations can only move in a verh predictable path every turn is a drastic loss of speed hey wait one more dis advantage while were trying to dodge u are gunners can't shoot back as everything is eather out of range or moving by to fast oh and anouther dis advantage if we do try to slow down to find u and shoot back bam shot again and running again
Last build I took a break from dropships because they were paper bags I sat there with a militia swarm whenever a dropship showed in a match locked on and fired away he was eather to busy dodging to be of use or would die.
Tanks shut up about not being able to elevate ur big gun to hit us where shooting with small turrets might aswell be peashooters I've always had to and still do have to hound away at a tank for a long time to kill it not to mention u can't tell me u can't find **** to hide behind and under to escape us and av cause we got nothing not even clouds to hide in
Dropships need major love if we can even last and have fun on the battle field doing what we love I'm good not getting many war points. Ill side train assult or just use a militia suit to get my next dropship just make them survivable so if we do go down eather we screwed up or tje av guys actually had to work and were just better players I hate feeling like a skeet disk everytime I get in the air
Also RDV my god can u make them stop slicing straight through us those things are cloaked poisen arrows for dropship 1 comes down and almost always goes straight through are bellies ripping us in halve |

You guys are doing something wrong, drop ships are awesome now. I've been piloting a python most of the day, and drop ship mechanics have been much improved.
Honestly most of the times I lose a ship it's because I call it into a risky area or I slam into something... Or lag. Only things I'd like is somewhat reduced (15%?) cost to compensate for how difficult it is to gain wp. Hell its now viable to go around squishing people what with reasonable impact damage and all.
