When engaging the radial menu, the directional indicator flutters all over the place when using keyboard and mouse. This makes it very difficult to select anything form the radial menus.
Just for clarity, this is new behavior. The radial menu worked fine in Chromosome. |

I was about to post this myself. It basically jitters all over the place, and it takes me about five seconds to get it to select DEFEND. Not an issue with a controller, nor does it seem to be as big an issue with the weapon selector. |

Correct. The radial menu works fine with the controller, but not at all really with the mouse.
I have seen the flutter, or incorrect reading of the direction for the squad commands and for equipment selection. I run a logi, so I don't switch weapons much :)
It's as though the vector calculation for the mouse no longer works. |

Selecting equipment as well as the radial suck with kb/m, should be able to use the mouse scroll for both anyways. |

Agreed, but this is a new level of frustration, and it clearly isn't working as intended.

yeah. imho the radial menus are annoying to use with kbm at the best of times, but right now it's really broken. like nobody even tried it beforehand or something ;)
and as logi this is a real problem. |

Suffering the same problem. Can select items on the weapon radial and the squad orders radio that are at the 12, 3, 6, and 9 o'clock positions but anything in between is impossible to select using the mouse. |

well it is possible to select anything in between. you just need half a meter of mouse pad, because if you move your mouse long enough in the intended direction it eventually works. |

Same problem here. The radial menu at KB/M was ok with Chromosome. With Uprising it's just impossible to use efficiently... |

BTW, mouse wheel click brings up the radial and works alot better. Just found that out today, maybe I need to read the controls again. |

The equipment selection behaves exactly as if you would use a third party Eagle Eye KB/M converter for PS3, meaning they made the mouse control the analog stick, witch when put trough a converter behaves like that.
Mouse > Analog Stick > Game right now is equal to KB/M > Eagle Eye Converter > Game
It needs to be Mouse > Game, so CPP just take the emulation out of it and it will work again. |

This is now a HUGE issue: it's not just Squad Leaders command wheel.
I was about to use HAV with active modules - but some of the active modules are inaccessible because of this!!!

I have this issue as well.
It's even more pronounced when say you try to select your equipment slot, but you're out of nanohives etc (which isnt indicated btw). So an empty slot causes the radial selection to fly all over the place. |

I have to say this. PS3 is a console. If you want to use a mouse and keyboard then go play on the PC. Sorry CCP but mouse/keyboard was a horrible idea, This is one thing I think should be equal for everybody. DS3 or PS Move should be the only options. |

Currently, the mouse for me only switches weapons when I wheel scroll down, scrolling up doesn't do anything.
What I would like to see, if we can't get dedicated keys, is to scroll up to cycle threw items.
So the way it would work is:
- scroll down = weapon cycle
- scroll up = item cycle.
Would not be as exact as dedicated keys are or the radial wheel on controller (you get REALLY used to where the item position is) it would be a really nice way for us keyboard users to use items more effectively in a battlefield condition. |

I like this idea. I would rather have numeric keys bound to all weapon and equipment slots but wheel up or even CAPS+wheel would be way better than the crap we have now.

^^ No. Although mouse scroll or number key would be an improvement, the best solution is FULLY customizable mouse and keys to ANY action, ability, or order. |

Radial menu seems to be working better. The vector no longer flutters around, so I can now properly designate what equipment I want to use. Unfortunately, all is not well though. The menu is sluggish and sometimes doesn't actually select the item even though it highlights it.

Bump - serious issue as a Squad leader...
In the old build selecting squad orders was as simple as:
1. Caps Lock + Q 2. then select squad order from radial menu with mouse.
Now it is impossible to select anything from the squad order radial menu with mouse, I have to switch to the controller, which sucks. |

Yeah the radial menu is with the mouse is still screwed up for squad leaders. While it's a little better than when Uprising came out it's nothing compared to what it was in Chromosome. I can select Attack & Capture just fine but Defend is nigh impossible to select quickly and effectively with the mouse. Like Maximus I have to switch to the controller to use squad commands properly.
Instead I just let someone else be squad lead because it's not worth the hassle to use squad commands. |

The indicator is still jumping all over the place. This was working perfectly in Chromosome. |

I vote for this scheme.
Weapon / Equipment selection/ Module activation -- middle mouse button to get weapon/equipment wheel -- current selection is highlighted when the wheel is displayed -- scroll up to move the selection counter clockwise around the wheel, scroll down to move it clockwise. When the middle mouse button is released switch to the selected item / activate the selected module.
Squad orders -- same as above but activated with a key on the keyboard followed by mouse wheel movement without pressing the middle mouse button. |

I use a frag-fx controller and have issues using radial with mouse. I am very new to this game and really enjoy it. I know CCP has its hands full and i trust a competant fix is already underway. Some options customizing controls i have to bump. My start button is right next to my melee/r3 button. If i could map this to the dpax id be set. I have given out more than a few kill trying to melee someone and bringing up the map.I am far from leet in fps, but please consider this feedback as legitimate. Tyvm for reading. |

As a Logi, i encounter this problem regularily. The radial selection is hyper sensitive and doesn't select the item unless it has been highlighted for a short duration (which is nearly impossible to do). I find myself shooting friendlies in the back instead of selecting my repper tool :) Changing mouse sensitivity doesn't seem to help at all.
At this point i resolve myself to getting shot in the back everytime i go to drop a nanohive or uplink as it takes 15+ seconds to do so. Any adjustments would be greatly appreciated <3 |

This issue has been reported so many times. Watch CEOPyrex's video and you can see how hard of a time he has activating tank modules with the mouse.

Above pretty much states the problem. I have exactly the same problem with trying to put down a defend order. Just flicking the mouse over in the direction of the order will make it flicker just like shown in above video. To help out with it though if i keep moving the mouse in the general direction of the defend order (around 45% degrees up to the right ) it will stay at the defend order just as if i used the controller. Something must have gone wrong with the emulator going from chromosome to uprising as it worked perfectly in chromosome. It feels like the emulator wants a steady signal of " i'm pointing this way now " all the time. Easily done with controller as you simply hold the controller in that direction while choosing. But with mouse we can't hold it as we'll move of the table at some point So as i see it the emulator must need a tweak so that it'll do the " i'm pointing this way" for the mouse so it only has to flicker in the general direction and not keep on moving in the direction of the order / module / equipment etc etc. |

The diagonals are the worst...capture cant be used on objectives unless im close enough to rub my crotch on the control panel, but ill be darned if thats not the command i get 90% of the time when trying to set a defend order.
Only wonkier km/b issue is trying to select respawn in a hurry amidst the drop uplink mini-radars that everyone spams these days...good luck! |

I hate necroing threads but I had to ask if there was ever a work around with different settings that we could use to minimize this problem as I am really surprised that this has not been fixed in the two and a half months sense the Uprising update. |

The problem persists (as of three days ago).
Trying to select your repper out of 3 mods in a tank can take ten attempts and 15secs with bad luck. |

Real surprised that this hadn't been fixed yet.
Edit: Seeing as this hasn't been fixed I'm surprised that I had to use the search function to even find a thread on it. It makes it very difficult to use a mouse and keyboard with vehicles and would have thought it would be a simple fix. Guess I was wrong. |

Bumping this as I have been waiting for the fix for over 2 months as well and I haven't been able to play the game at all as it is hopeless to try to do anything with active tanks. I have lost over 20 mil already by simply testing from time to time if it's fixed already. I really hope this gets fixed soon as I really like this game but it really sucks as some of us have to wait months to be able to play this great game again...
Ps. If anyone wants to be smart*** and say "just use the controller"... I can't even turn the freaking tank with the controller, the controls are so horribly wrong. Not to mention if I have to aim and move at the same time, wow, or how about turning and aiming at the same time? Also I wouldn't even be able to hit the side of a barn with the controller even while on complete stop with the tank. That's how weird it is, I mean I am doing fine with the controller when on foot but tanks are soooooo hard on controller, I just don't understand people who can do it. |

I played extensively with my madrugar tonight, which anybody knows is almost all active mods. But the module selection doesn't seem to be as bad, or maybe I'm starting to get used to it, but if you move real fast I can get the correct module about 70% of the time. Was the main cause of a few of my HAV losses tonight, still can't believe that it has been over two months sense this problem was introduced and its still going strong. |
