I join a quick ambush battle, get the "Waiting for Deployment" message, then:
1. Screen goes black for about 30 seconds.
2. I return the Merc Quarters and get the message: "Your connection to the Host has been lost"
3. Screen momentarily flashes black again
4. I get a dialog box saying: "This battle you were fighting is no longer available. You have been returned to your Mercenary Quarters"
This happens repeatedly, and it appears I can no longer join a game. I restarted the game client, I am still experiencing the same problem - unable to join a game. |

Had the same the first time I tried to play after patching. Closed the game, opened it again and everything worked fine. Probably something got borked due to patching taking its time with only ~650 KB/s. |

So under the settings tab I changed my battle server to America and now I am getting in. The auto and EU settings did not work. Of course it could just be unrelated, no way of knowing till I have tested it more. |

Yeah, I got some games in a squad on the US cluster, but I just tried to join a game solo and got the error again.
I am EU.
EDIT: Can confirm, just change server to America, as other suggested, and it fixes the issue. |

I am wondering if perhaps this is a result of server strain today. I have been frozen out of 3/6 regular pub matches while in the Warbarge, and received this black screen with the occasional disconnect EVERY time I try to enter a fw match.
I am a US player. |

We have taken a problem server out of rotation, which should fix this up. Please keep posting if you are having issues loading battles - specifically if you get a 30 second black screen and never load into war room / battle but get booted back to merc quarters.

I just tried to join 4 skirmishes and a FW battle and had the blackscreen/never joined match thing happen...exited dust514...tried it again on 2 skirmish same thing...tried to join an ambush got into the match.
tried another skirmish match...black screen/booted again.
went into options and changed server from automatic > america
got in my next skirmish match. |

Exact same problem here for both Ambush and Skirmish battles.
After I quit the game, turned off the PS3 and then turned it on again after a few seconds and loaded the game, it started working. |

Yup, same thing. been going on for the last 5 hours now. You'll get a black screen like it's loading , and then it'll kick you back to home base. Message with game has already ended or you lost connection to the host with a game has ended message. |

also, sometimes i can hear people talking. and if i press X i can hear menu sounds like im clicking on stuff behind a black curtain. and before it puts me back in my MQ, it makes a sound like i fell off something. |

I made a thread yesterday about this same issue. Glad to see there's one that is getting traction.
I am also having this same issue. Mainly it's worth Ambush (with me). Currently my server settings are on Automatic. I'm switching to US now. I'm on the East Coast of US, if that means anything to you.

I was having this problem yesterday, 5/10 afternoon/evening, USA Central time.
it was happening in Skirmish, and Factional Warfare modes.
one thing i noticed that was different yesterday; the Player Count.
between 5/6 and 5/9, the Player Count displayed ranged from 3200 to 4800.
when I logged in on 5/10 , the Player Count displayed was 48533.
i wonder if that has something to do with it. |

This started last night for me. After 30 min of being kicked to quarters & several restarts, not to mention it was after 2 in the am, I called it a night.
Now, when I do get in, the lag is horrible. Takes a good 2 seconds between pulling R2 & my toon actually throwing the grenade. Don't even want to try & cook one. |

I was going to make another thread about this. The grenade throwing is terrible at best. I don't know if this is from this latest patch or if it's always been this way. |

Having same problem ,
I went to settings changed region to Europe rather than automatic and it worked fine for me last night. Played 5 matches back to back.
Seems like there's a prob with American servers at the moment.
I am located near Chicago and had same problem repeatedly last night til I switched server to Europe. |

hehe.. now that I have your attention, I am pretty positive my buddy, aka THE-UGLY, figured it out.
We can repeatedly get the black screen until it kicks us out. We can also cease it by leaving our squad and making a new one. bam. works.
I am 90% sure this fixes it as we demonstrated it 3 times last night, and a couple times the day before. If we don't remake the squad the black screen will happen repeatedly.

Have had the same issue since yesterday May 10th. It's spotty making your reboot the system a few times to get into a match or trying the group and ungrouping trick with squads. |

hehe.. now that I have your attention, I am pretty positive my buddy, aka THE-UGLY, figured it out.
We can repeatedly get the black screen until it kicks us out. We can also cease it by leaving our squad and making a new one. bam. works.
I am 90% sure this fixes it as we demonstrated it 3 times last night, and a couple times the day before. If we don't remake the squad the black screen will happen repeatedly.
I get the error no matter if I'm in a squad or not.
Hmm.. try creating a squad, and killing it. let us know how it goes? |

Squad no squad. Nothing changed it. Changed from NA servers to the others got in. NA server is shot or something. |
