Here are my observations regarding the new footage;
The Plasma Cannon is visible @ 1m10s, where the person on the right is using it. It's obviously a rocket launcher weapon of some sort. Everything else you see is using the Scrambler Rifle, which appears to be semi-automatic have a click/hold mechanic. You can click as much as you like to fire until overheating OR you can click/hold to charge until overheating. A clear example of charging the SR is visible @ 1m20s, and its semi-auto nature @ 2m4s.
Pretty awesome if you ask me.
The green name in the killfeed is very obviously squad related. Also the Gallente Assault-looking suit has 250 armor, which wouldn't be a stretch considering that the Caldari *shield suits* have 220 shields. |

Wow so this seems like CCP is going to be adding a lot more before the "final" ship version of the game is released. That's awesome! |

noticed the plasma cannon shot with a pretty steep drop to the projectile requiring you to gauge your shot based on distance im sure. hopefully the fact that this weapon is much more skill based in comparison to the swarm launcher it has a better payoff. |

There are adding districts, the first step in getting the RTS game down. So expect to see many many new gun game items coming as I am sure they have massive numbers on where they want all the current and future weapons/dropsuits to be. Its just a matter of patching them in, I would assume they are already ready and they were just waiting for the go ahead. They just wanted fewer variables to deal with while they fixed and tuned the system.
Now, once we get the next big patch, we get to bang on districts for a good long while before they start adding more customization with buildings and installations. Once they are happy with the way district combat is working, I would guess the other features of districts that don't deal with combat directly will come rather fast. |

I don't want to rain on your parade but the recent devblog made it sound like we shouldn't expect that mod for the next build. |

You have to imagine that anything they have spoken about with any real type of discription has at least a working model built in their DEV platform. Beyond that, there is still a ton of testing and adjustments that need to be made before launching it. It could be a shield bubble but just an early proto of it. |

New suit looks like it belongs to Jake Dunn. i would say its Gallente Assault though, the styling is very Gallente. Cant wait for the new build. i have a lot of iskies and aurum burning a hole in my dropsuits pockets.
I would love to see an AUR A-Series BPO i would happily pay 40-50k AUR for one since it'll last me my whole DUST life and i'd like to see the closed beta AUR suits because the bone white assault suit was rather foxy |

I didn't notice the RADAR image though. . .
So it likely not a shield bubble. As everything in this video seems to be mostly done.

They drop down from a Gallente MCC. It looks extremely classy and badass, but it doesn't have the usual backpack everyone has. Still I love Caldari design, can't wait till the default assault dropsuit gets unique and we Caldari wear it with honor, not just because it's a starter fit. Well, the Gallente scout doesn't have it. Gallente put an emphasis on clean look and making the body features stand out. Yay for lore! Actually, the Gallente Scout suit does have a backpack. It's just really small due to the limited CPU/PG and it conforms to the body. I like the fact it's armor tank over shields, fits the lore and it would be interesting how can that suit can have high HP while moving fast and equip damage mods on the high slots at the same time. My LR will have a hard time killing these types of suits...
This is why they shouldn't be doing an balance changes untill the new suits and weapons. Lasers will be countered by fast moving armor tanks |

With just a description and no concrete details, art assets or discussion from the devs about how the beta testers would like to see it work? I don't think I do have to believe they have a working prototype of such a module. Keep in mind the number of elements they say they have planned for the future. By this logic they have semi-working versions of all that stuff.
I think they've got more than enough work to do implementing things we first saw a year a ago (drones for example) to be more than one build ahead on comparatively recent ideas.
I could be wrong, maybe that module is easier to program and is somewhere in the work the devs are doing now but to see it in a test of next build sufficiently advanced to be hooked up to the live event (assuming that wasn't all smoke and mirrors) seems far fetched to me.
Also:

Yeah, that would negate what I said. Still, I tend to think that they have more in rough testing than what they would ever release to us. It takes a long time to fine tune things for release. |

I don't think you are necessarily wrong about how far ahead they may be in some areas, I just don't think we can be as certain in speculating about how much work they've done on content they only just mentioned. |

Or B-series depending on taste. Assault and logi are more useful as B-series while scout and heavy are very good as A-series. I would definitely buy an assault B-series BPO since I don't care about proto atm since it's so expensive.

Scrambler rifle shows 120% damage to shields and 80% to armor. So it's basically a sloppy laser rifle that can close distance.
And so begins the shift toward the armor tanks... |

looks like there's at least 2 types of scrambler rifle, the "carthum assualt scrambler rifle" and "imperial scrambler rifle" also a lot of those suits were prototype on the cameraman's side that is, the other team seemed exclusively militia and it looks like the Plasma launcher is doing at least 500 points of damage against armour |

Definitely. Anything right now is pure speculation. I am just going by general ideas of development time and such. Usually, a company would only hint towards something if they have a general idea of how it would work and have at least sketched it out with the understanding of how it would work in a game.
I think thats why they have been somewhat mum about any type of attack or speed aircraft. Could you imagine something like a 'jet' or gunship in the game with the HARD (ie deadly) flight ceilings, limited map size and ninja ADV's?
Alot is going to change with bigger maps. I think this is where Tanks become a little less of a factor as speed will become a big point in getting to objectives and tanks would be subject to more open terrain that they would have to cross which in turn would lead to being more of a target with less cover to repair/recharge. |

Actually they don't and that is a big problem right now.
Ever wonder why when you start shooting someone it takes 5-10 bullets before it starts to register?
Hit Detection is still horrible.
Good footage and gameplay, wish the DUST we play looked like that in the video. |
