Seriously, why are there so many bad players who play this game. I mean what the F'uck, I just played an ambush game, we were losing bad, I turn around and see half of my team was camping on a bridge and shooting at people on the other side of the map with sub machine guns and the other half trying to no scope people with sniper rifles. Skirmish same thing, this went on all night, ended up winning 2/10 games.
These people can't be that stupid, even if I had never played a shooter before I think I'd be able to tell when my submachine gun isn't doing a damn thing from 100 meters away, I'd think I'd realize that this Quickscope/No scope cod style with this sniper rifle just isn't going to work after 5 deaths. The moronic heavies that block the doorways while you try to make your escape as 3 enemies are shooting you in the back.
i know there are bad players in every game, and Dust is no different but why so many are on Dust? I know the casuals/bad players are needed for the growth of the game but god, just don't be on my team, seriously segregate these players into a locked playlist and let them have at each other until they are up to speed on how the game is supposed to be played let alone actually learn how to shoot a gun. keep em there until they reach 2-3 million SP, surely it would be better for everybody and at least they wouldn't have to deal with getting stomped like cockroaches every game.
Does this look familiar to you after a loss?
Player A) 21-1 Player B) 14-4 Player C) 10-3 Player D) 9-4 Player E) 1-1 Player F) 0-3 Player G) 1-3 Player H) 0-5 Player I) 1-4 Player J) 2-9 Player K) 1-7 Player L) 2-5 Player M) 1-9 Player A) 0-11
I'm sure it does, every single game we lose this is what the scoreboard looks like. i don't care about my K/D as long as we win I could care less. these people are interfering with my enjoyment of winning. if I'm going to lose I want to kill the teammates responsible, it's not like they'd notice, with how clueless most of these people are they'd probably think an enemy killed them anyway. Give me friendly fire already, I've had it with this sh!t.

trust me i dont think your the only one with this issue. but i do agree with the skill based servers or atleast 8 man squads to cut the randoms out of team oriented games like skirm. win or lose the game should be fair and atleast some kind of satisfaction to know that your team atleast tried. im also tired of getting stuck with 12 snipers or dumb bledots who crash there jeeps purposely into your tank then send you hate mail as if they did something special.. quickscoping works for those who are really good at it but ive seen many try and fail. or the waiting for the letter to turn red and have a $h!t storm of reddots spawn while ur atleast trying to take it back. ccp i would love it if u guys gave us some defending assist points for taking an objective back from the enemy so that way random bluedots dont farm the objective and cause the team the game.

And you forgot shotgun heavies and MLT assaults who try to melee this one guy no matter what... getting killed two or three times in a row. Also trying to run people over in MLT LAVs, that's like 90-190 WP per PackedAV for the opposing team and 1-3 clones shorter for blues. |

There are so many bad players because Dust is far from being as easy to play as your regular shooter. You dont kill someone in 3 bullets in the thigh with whatever gun you use. You have t take into account distance and efficiency at all times. You need to know how to fight different types of ennemy in different situations. You can't just camp into one spot and hope to kill 5 dudes in a row with 20 bullets etc...
And tbh, it's what i enjoy the most in Dust 514. A good player will be even better than in another shooter. And a bad one, even badder. |

Also, stop caring about bad players in Dust. I love it. I'm glad they added in Militia dropsuit BPOs too. I hope they encourage you people to use crappy militia everything. That's what keeps me going on 12 kill streaks with every clone to the point where I run out of ammo in every weapon and have to run cross map to a supply depot. Just laugh at them and kill the scrubs on the enemy team.
tbh, my mentality is my team doesn't exist. They act like NPCs sometimes - they are like sheep. Just play with that in mind and you will reap the riches of solo roaming. If you can't handle that, you suck. I don't even care about winning I end up #1 on the scoreboard 80% of the time so who cares. I still get the most money and kills.
Also, for the prototank dudes, just get 4 people with swarm launchers, drink the innumerable tears of the tryhard enemy team. |

It could have been me with the low scores if you were fighting one of the elite tank squads. I use the whole game to try and take out the tanks which often results me only getting 1-2 actual kills and dying allot. If I am not able to destroy one tank then I have at least tried and hopefully stressed the tankers being hit by my forge gun. Normally I do pretty well but have no interest in the kill death ratio, mainly as I never are able to archive super scores using forge guns |

Just a bad string of luck. As long as your are a strong player your W/L should be well over 1.2 and more likely 1.5 or above running solo. With a squad you will win a whole lot more, like 2-3 W/L.
If you are a big factor in winning matches you will tip the tide in most matches that are close, and have a 50/50 win loss on ones that are single team stacked. |

There a AFK people once in awhile but they're rare, I'm afraid you are both wrong about most 0-0 people. Most of these guys are getting thrown into the match only moments before it ends and don't have time to get anything done. Don't tell me it hasn't happened to you.
In fact because of the game mechanics of people coming and going in a match, unless all 32 mercs start together and none drop out, the scorecard at the end of the game becomes increasingly meaningless. If they had a "battle time log" readout next to the names and stats you'd get a bigger picture. Someone who joined in with only two minutes to go but went 6-2 would suddenly look like a Rambo.

It baffles me, it truly does. Further than that, it enrages me a good deal of the time.
I don't remember it being so bad in closed beta, which leads me to want to reason that it is nothing more than a passing phase, but it's been open beta now for two months. How much time do these people need to get with the program? It seems like far to long already, and the vast majority of these new player seem no better than the day we went open beta?
This whole thing realy makes no sence to me (can these people really be this bad?). So then I started to think conspiracy. Perhaps it is EVE players who don't like the idea of Dust affecting things in EVE, or maybe it is the other FPS franchises *coughs* COD *coughs coughs* that, perhaps, fear the potential that Dust has and it's possible future ability to sap their player base.-á
I don't know. I just find it so had to believe that so many people are completely inept at this game, and not only that, but that they would continue on and on even though they are. It troubles me because I enjoy playing this game when there isn't so many people seemingly doing everything in their power to make it unbearable for others.
My only hope is that soon we will not have to EVER deal with the rediculous nature of pub matches EVER again. |

Been telling you guys for YEARS that most of you suck at gaming.
All you codbois got fooled into thinking you were "ok" at gaming because the games met you halfway:
i mean let's look at the special olympics first.... er i mean cod. just garbage gameplay, no skill, no thought... perfect for the spazzy adderall addicted lil c average kids that are about 80% of the community.
then we move on to the battlefield series: yeah, it's not bf any more.
hasn't been since bf2mc. y'know why? cuz most of you guys suck. so they nerfed it down about as far as it could go and still be considered software. and you guys STILL hide out in op metro with FF off, doritos on, regen health, etc. and even with all the ez mode bells and whistles turned on... you guys still suck. wow. surpirse!
then mag: i told you guys you couldn't play mag. unless you had a "clan" of bacon double cheese zergers. then you guys could bunny hop all over and beat up on the casuals and exclaim how great your clan "is".
now we are finally up to a game that is to be honest, an EZ mode PC game. this game is exaclty how the pc world is. and it's why the pc "elitests" as you call them look down on you:
you can't play games on their rig.
you can't even play games on YOUR OWN rig.
so in short, most of you casuals just aren't very good. never will be.
and every day... the best players get even better.
but hey look on the bright side:
corps will still need c average casuals to soak up bullets from time to time so there will be plenty of opportunity for you guys to continue to suck but with the added bonus of wearing clan tags while doing so.
oh yeah:

"Skill" is nothing in this game compared to your SP, gear, and teammates. The blueberries appear to be getting worse because they're barely getting any rewards after getting stomped over and over, while the top guys are all rocking proto gear and abusing the broken damage mods. The game mechanics are confusing enough without being insta-popped before ever even reaching an objective.
I think we should be applauding these poor saps for sticking with the game even though they are essentially hapless cannon fodder until CCP figures out something for the vets to do besides pubstomp. |

When I see these posts though the first thing that runs through my head is that one guy who's running around by himself ignoring objectives just to get his K/D up. Sure, he's racking up kills, but the rest of his team is trying to work as a team to complete objectives. Sure PUG's can suck, but if you're not part of the team, then you're part of the problem. Often, that guy who's "not part of the team" running around by himself is taking out a squad of enemies behind the lines and timing it so that your squad of noobs who are working together only have one guy left to deal with when they reach A, and you can gun him down 4 vs. 1 thanks to the K/D obsessed guy who killed the other 3 guys who would have presented much more of a challenge.
Even if you're not directly working WITH the team, you can be working FOR the team.
My girlfriend is a pretty good Sniper, and I've seen her hold 3 points ALONE against multiple hack attempts from groups of up to 3 opponents in matches where she runs 15+ for a maximum of 3 deaths. She didn't stick with the team. She didn't work with anyone else on the team. She was the only one taking advantage of those two Nanohives she had in the couple of Sniper perches she was occasionally bouncing between to cover the whole area she wanted to control. Would you call that a liability?
I run a Shotgun Scout, and I often duck behind enemy lines, NOT to hack, but to clear enemies away from the objective as my team is making a push. Sometimes I rush at a particularly well-defended objective and get 3 to 5 kills before going down, because I know where the enemies are looking, and where they're GOING to look when I open fire. I know where NOT to be at that point, and I can sometimes anticipate well enough to clear the area and start to hack the objective alone. But of course, by then, there are reinforcements, and I die (3-1 K/D isn't bad though, right?). So that got me killed, but guess what? It ALSO meant that 3 - 5 enemies were waiting to respawn and everyone else was rushing over to E while my teammates are showing up at a now-undefended point C across the other side of the map. Oops.
Yeah, I sometimes stack my K/D and try to make myself look good. But I also spend entire matches without firing a shot (Repair Tool, Uplink, Nanohive. Depending on who I'm playing as and how seriously, pick a number from 1 to 3), and am still a benefit to my team. |
