There are some games in which maps are always open and there are always people battling there 24/7. How about a game type in which two team have super large bases, for each opposing team these will be large red zones which can't be crossed. Game can hold a hundred players CCP is already implementing large scale fights like this so shouldn't be an issue. These super large red zone bases are super tiny compared to the terrain that is laid out in between there would be mountains for snipers open terrain for tanks to ride through and roads for them to cross distances, there would be destroyed and still standing structures like bunkers, this would also make dropships useful for actually picking people up and deploying them to parts of maps. I can in vision three dropships all fully packed deploying 12 people to a large zone and dropping into 10 enemy tanks and 20 enemy infantry. I'd love to see people in their bases calling in huge amounts of vehicles it kinda reminds me of the EVE super fleets. Games would run 24/7 players could return to base and turn in their war points for skill points and isk this would eject them from the battlefield. 3 game modes running like this at the same time so everyone can get there filling.
Super large map super large amount of players super cluster f****** awesomeness |

It would sorta be like free roam because this would kinda make things boundless for the players also reminds me of red dead redemption in which players can run across a huge map other players are marked on the map so you can find and hunt down players. options are unlimited you can get achievements farm herbs make posses its super fun and holds a large amount of players. I played that planet side 2 game and that is what it most reminded me of, any tips and feedback for this would be awesome maybe how things would be bad like players simply farming sp etc etc |

Really hope I can get some more post for this, I feel CCP in visioned large scale warfare between 100s of mercs calling down instillations and hammering and hammering it out. I think this game mode would give players this vision letting them roll around large terrain with team 20 or more team mates. |

Hate to say it, but CCP should do this, much like planetside 2. tried it, and love the concepts. Now add the concepts from planetside to the customization and relevance(to eve) and you will have a winner |

While I like the idea, CCP will be adding several more planets for us to fight on. Which means several maps that they would have add. It would be a lot of work, especially for these huge maps. But if they make it possible, this would make DUST 514 even more awesome! |

Thank you I just feel like this shouldn't be a classic FPS it's supposed to be original jump outside the box ya know test ideas if they don't work pull them atleast you tried. Making ambush and then ambush oms just shows the lack of creativity I really hope they do something out there this game mode is one of them. |

Sounds incredible. I haven't played Planetside 2 so I can't comment on that aspect.
I really like this idea as it seems to fit so well into the universe of EVE. The only problem with having super huge maps is that it could negate the use for many of the short-mid range weapons. My suggestion to counter this is either make the maps more densely packed with buildings and areas where short-mid conflicts would be best, or make the range on all guns better (which I think should happen personally). |

A 24/7 battle?I thought this game is about win or lose a battle(which affects the FW),not fighting endlessly without an outcom. This concept works in Planetside 2 or it would work in shooters like COD.If u wanna run and gun all day long without an outcom, try one of those. |

COD is nothing like what is suggested here and i think planet side isn't endless your flawed from the start. I mean games could end after large amounts of time I am open to feedback and suggestion. Here is an idea though CCP plans to implement 100 player fights on larger maps however I don't think the games will be endless. The current four squad system will turn to six and sooner coming is the game matches taking place as 24 v 24. For all those who will bash this thread/idea know your gonna look bad when at least part of this idea becomes a reality.
I don't like playing in a box of a game honestly you might admire merc quarters at first however it's like being tricked into thinking bronze is diamond. After a week or two you realize just how simple the merc quarters is and that you are not deploying to far out planets you are simply queuing a game and being put in a game match with a label. 24/7 games would be fun it would allow players to ride around undisturbed until they either ran out of fitting, ran out of isk to make more fits, or had to go because of real life or in game problems.
Honestly guys let's try and expand this idea not just shoot it down before it's even off the ground some of the greatest games what if you had shut them down before they even got off the ground? Obviously you would be enjoying less one fun game. |

I like long matches and would be happy to see one that takes an hour or so. Or even a game mode that does not end until a side captures all the objectives, which could last for many hours. I'd like it and have said it many times. Although, instant sp/isk for wp would be needed. I would be rather upset if i played a match for an hour then got disconnected and lost all that sp/isk and i'd probably of dug myself a nice hole with how much isk i spent on the match. |

well said d/cs return all suits and vehicles spent however you wouldn't earn your kills and isk sp so that said yes a insta pay out on d/c would be nice. For sp farming fix you could add security status players who afkd would loose status if they reached enough negative status they would be kicked if they didn't deply in enough time they would be kicked as regular. |

Here are some more ideas
Multiple MCC's around each base hackable points around the map (non redzones) where enemies and allies can control installations these installations will rep mcc shield shoot at mcc send out armor repair drones for mcc. Instillations built into structures near hackable points if points are hacked base will turn into a active gun shooting enemy that approach. |

i really like this idea, if done well it could be awesome, but it would really depend on how it is done.
My problem is, one team would start winning, and just farm points no matter how you have the map layed out or objectives. the only way this would work is if everyone was on their own or on the alliance level with multi multi team battles, which would be awesome, but then again, a squad of alliance mates would join and dominate or dominate the solo players.
Maybe a never ending mode wouldn't be the answer, with dust's small player counts it would be worse off and easilly become lopsided.
Counterproposal, larger and longer game mode, where you call in turrets and other structures yourself, no nullcannons on the map at all, but player scan build them after a certain number of WP is earned for the team. large railguns could auto fire on the MCC if no enemy is in range, give us sensor towers which basically buff turrets ability to defend themselves and detect enemies, and maybe repair stations for vehicles and players. |

Well I guess a 24/7 battle wouldnt do it then as you said one team of alliances, squads, and corporations could easily crush the opposing side. However squads can only be maxed at 4 members and players joining the game would be placed on a random team thus making not all players corporate players go to one side/team. Also red zone would protect teams from spawn camping and spawn killing, the fact that you have such a large map would mean that you couldn't constantly spawn kill. The reason for spawn killing is because of spawn points players spawn and are instantly killed they dont learn there lesson and try it over and over again. Large maps would offer more variety because you wouldn't have to hack objectives to win this would allow you to roam maps more freely. Engagements while still based on skill wouldn't turn into complete r*** fest and players would always be changing as some claim their sp and isk for war points. Player level would also be randomized I am sure out of 50 players on each team each team would find atleast 1/5th good players. |

I love that idea a collective amount of war points and then instillation etc etc is called in. This would turn things into a team effort to collect war points and not just a purely kill based game as you said earning war points could still bring in orbitals, instillation's, maybe scans? I was wondering how we would stop orbital bombardment spam though obviously you'd have a few orbitals coming in every minute ha! Bunkers would be one way or underground fortresses under maps. |

No
The concept might be but thats about it
This could be done for high sec matches for example you just drop in and play, or for groups maybe in a few low sec systems where pay is a bit better and so is loot
It would just be good for just playing if you dont really have much time yet you want to earn ISK/SP in a short amount of time you could do this and do well in 30min when compared to a skirmish |

what you missed is that at each base for each team there is a structure that you can click on it it will allow you to turn in your war points for sp and isk this means you can play the game for as long as you like. This can be a 10 minute game to a 6 hour game it all depends on how many drop suits you can deploy and refit. It offers versatility for all players snipers, light weapons, vehicles, everyone will like this mode hope you can take in the turning in wp system. |

Sp farming wouldn't be a problem because you would still have to put int as much time as someone who was playing skirmish to earn those war points it would still cost suits and vehicles. Only plus side is that you wouldn't have to reload skirmishes everyone 30 minutes you could stay in a constant match.
For other sp farming fixes suggestions will be taken ^_^ |

I like the idea but it needs some hammering out to become something the devs can use or comment on. I like the idea of 24/7 (although it would be 23.5/7 for downtime) as it would be great to really get into a match with some buddies and just play tactically. Even skirmish lasting 30 minutes is not enough for some of these truly exciting stalemate battles, watching opposing forces just pick each other off only to receive reinforcements moments later would be an amazing sight to see.
I really like the MCC repping idea, excellent post!
Perhaps this battle could have regular "breaks" every hour where you are returned to the war barge for a few minutes to cash in SP and ISK etc? Fluff could be that our clones all have a one hour overheat or some nonsense meaning we have to go back to our origin bodies in the warbarge. Idk... |

I always thought having a game mode of this type in any game would be great. Instead of never ending, let them attack each others bases. Whomever takes over or destroys the others base wins. Could have minor objectives throughout the map like bunkers, or other planetary installations. |

This would only work once we hit the 128-player mark. At this point we're not even at the 64-player mark.
An everlasting pub match, should try to squeeze in as many players as possible. As it stands now, there is too high a chance, for one team to be totally red lined. I understand that the red zone you propose would be huge, but still, there wouldn't be enough variety in players. |

Throwing in my thoughts...
Keeping with an existing concept, think of Eve player owned structures. I admit that I'm not 100% up to speed with the ins-and-outs of them but here goes; they can withstand concentrated fire for variable amount of time, groups can attempt to attack them whenever they want though it may be futile depending on fleet make-up vers what defenses. With those thoughts in mind...
Corporations can pay ISK/AUR to settle and build in a district. Lets say that the basic terrain layer is generated using whatever system is now in-place. Corp leaders spend currency to place the building modules that we seen in the game now where they are allowed. They spend currency to place turrets where they are allowed. If we have drones/npc's at that time they can use currency and place these as appropriate. Say that maybe drone/npc's and turrents come in groups of (insert # here) and use part of the Corps max allowed members. Guess you might have to have a force field type object that needs breaking. (objectives maybe) Set it up like a corp battle so that there is price tag and something to be lost on the attackers side. Link Merc quarters to a building in the base or give the option to change your Merc quarters to the base. Under battles --> Mercenary Battles, add a "Defend" battle once someone challenges your base. (maybe corp leaders have to agree to the fight) Group up and leave quarters to fight off the bad guys. We can say that the "shields" that protect the base are reduced depending on how many mercs head out to fight so that if no one is on-line to play, base is mostly safe.
Anyway, just some thoughts |

I think I agree the only way help prevent non-stop pub mashing and farming (without making it corny) is to have a huge player count. A large group of militia fits would be a tough fight for anyone because after a certain number of them, it really doesn't matter if they are in militia or proto, they will still do huge amounts of dmg. The chaos of the blob would kill everyone.
Although, I don't think the ps3 could handle that many players all on one map, in one match, fighting side by side. Maybe the ps4. Otherwise, they would have to do something corny like separating the map into sections where only 48 ppl can play at once in each section. However, this could be what they have in mind anyways until they update to the new platform. |

An everlasting pub match, should try to squeeze in as many players as possible. As it stands now, there is too high a chance, for one team to be totally red lined. I understand that the red zone you propose would be huge, but still, there wouldn't be enough variety in players.
No bc if the redzone was HUGE, lavs could.sneak through and weak players.would leave and good ones could take their.place

An endless battle ? No Thank You.
What is the reason for the battle? Who is sponsoring it? Who is providing the biomass? If you cannot say who would place the contract for the battle, and why, then it doesn't really fit in I think.
If, instead, it was a larger Ambush with a higher clone-count and extended time-limit, then it could make sense. |

If the games don't end, we would need to get the isk and sp in game, instead of when we leave. In a long battle like this we'd use and lose more than we can replace if not paid correctly.
Example: you start the game with 30 suits. You end up using all of them. You restock 30 more from the respawn. You're doing pretty good in the game, buy you die ever so often and use another 30. Then you get to a point where you can't afford to restock.
If you continually get money as you play you won't have that problem. |

+1 love the idea of large scale battles, Biger maps with like multiple facitities, with installations and control points.
Would be even sweeter if a match could be setup, were your corp could choose a map, the size the amount of players 8v8 16v16 and so on, then fill the rest in as needed with randoms under mercenary-battle finder, you can pick your side. This would be awesome for corporation training nothing would have to be purchased because its for trianing only no isk wp, sp, no gear lost just holligrams basically. And has been asked for b4 but not at this level.
Some of my ideas.
Maybe ability to make your own defences as defender u pick were the instalations are placed, resupplies, bunkers, sniper towers etc. Move the MCC's to different spawn points, different game modes......
Like escort - (defenders defend a very slow moving tank/train,etc from point A to B), The attackers must destroy it b4 it makes it to B.
Capture the flag - steal a nullcannon computer chip from enemy base and return it to your base to gather points, game ends after 10 or whatever chips are returned. etc.
Conquer - (Defenders Corp) Picks a map, make there defences and have unlimited time to buy and place equipment and defences. Then a 5 to 10 minute timer b4 the battle begins to buy more installations, resupply, place HAV's, Lav's, Explosives, proximity mines, Bunkers, sniper towers, etc...and then place them all around a facility with a special item (like a fighter plane) in a Hanger/Bunker that the enemy must destroy. The Hanger/Bunker would have huge amount of HP and would be attackable by all weapons, rails, blasters, grenades, etc. (Attackers Corp) As the battle begins with the timer they have time to place installation's, vehicles and other equipment and there mission would be to destroy the hanger and then the fighter plane inside it to win, and if they dont they loose. I see this being cool because if the defenders just sit and do nothing the attackers can rail the Hanger/bunker to death over time so the defenders would have to mount a counter attack against the tank's/Dropships/Lav's Drones etc. And the Attackers would have to make sure to have some defences as well. Could be setup with or without a timer, and the option to allow mercenaries or not. There should be a installation cap for each team/a little less for the attacking corp but more cap room for vehicles. These would be epic vehicle battles from air and ground.
This would give corporations/alliences more CB games to play with different modes to learn strategies. |

Yeah but my idea it corp based for training or isk basically like CB's now on crak. I can see epic battles insued and usefull for training corp members or newberries. |

Nope. Better than copy Planetside 2. (I understand tech limitations so this will be when Dust ends on PS3) Open worlds with PVE content such as pirates on planets (go into their base and expect installations, tanks and numerous soldiers), cities which have differing strengths of concord. go to null sec and the cities would be owned by pirates (maybe player pirate corps), go to high sec and their would be very few pirate strongholds with most being weak overall. travel from planet to planet (with a fee). Maybe even have your ship boarded by pirates for pve content (more chance of this the lower the security system you go through). |

I'll bank on DUST being like that around 2018-2020, simply because it took EVE Online about the same length of time to build the insane depth it has now. I'd comment on a specific feature, but I don't know exactly when certain pieces (POCOs, mining, etc.) of the puzzle got added. Could help to get an old bittervet in here to confirm just how long EVE took to become what it is today. |

A 2 hour match that I cant leave profitably until the end to get SP and ISK would be the most amount of time I would be comfortable with. Because I only play in 2 hour increments. If the match was longer but I could cash in my SP and ISK at a much shorter time interval say every hour or 45 minutes then I would be fine with that set up. I liked the near impenetrable shield idea that covers the redzone to stop spawn camping.
The game mode could have a feature called a 'threat level' that limits the amount of power each player would have in a match. It would serve to equalise player chances of killing another and help prevent pub stomping because no one would have full proto gear but could have only militia gear which is way below the set 'threat level' of the match. This idea is from a very old computer game called 'Heavy Gear 2'. Please search this games 'threat level' feature for its multiplayer for context to further understand what i am suggesting.
The feature could work similar to this: Every infantry weapon and suit and infantry module is set a number by CCP according to how threatening it makes a player become. Advance and Prototype versions recieve larger threat numbers than standard and militia gear accordingly. All the numbers of threat levels related to you are added up when a loadout is made. Any loadout used in the match can not exceed a certain threat level (threat level is total amount of threat points you have in total within a loadout).
This feature could be applyed to vehicles. |
