And since he said he won't be here to make another riddle,
The first monkey is not the son of the second monkey, but the second monkey is the father of the first monkey. What is the first monkey to the second monkey? |

Correct! A tree.

Garrek is most likely right. Meanwhile, let me give you a puzzle, which is a series of questions.
(Note: by actions I mean the basic actions you would do; for instance, "Pick up a stone" and "Throw a stone" would be two separate subsequent actions.)
1. How many actions does it take to put a giraffe into a fridge? List the actions.
2. How many actions does it take to put a hippopotamus into the same fridge? List the actions.
3. The giraffe and the hippo race to the river. Who is going to come first? Why? |

Strange questions to say the least.
I'm going to skip the first two and go to the third.
The hippo will win because it lives on the river, so it is already there. |

But the giraffe has a long neck that it can extend, so if the two were running on equal footing, the giraffe would win. |

I'll take a quick hack at #3.
The first one to get to the river depends on several different factors, like if I feel like hippo steak or giraffe steak, and how long the local sewage system takes to get to a river. |

This riddle is supposed to be answered in the order it is given, otherwise there are, as you mentioned, too many factors to account for in the third question. Sorry if it wasn't clear. |

3. The giraffe and the hippo race to the river. Who is going to come first? Why? 1) 3. Open the fridge, put the giraffe in, then close the fridge. 2) 4. Open the fridge, remove the giraffe, put the hippo in , then close the door 3) giraffe. Because the hippo is trapped within the fridge, and hence, cannot move |

That is correct.
