The pitcher, catcher, and infielders except Allen, Harry, and Andy, are shorter than Sam. Paul, Andy, and the shortstop lost $50 each at the racetrack. Paul, Harry, Bill, and the catcher took a trouncing from the second baseman at pool. Sam is involved in a divorce suit. The catcher and the third baseman each have two children. Ed, Paul, Jerry, the right fielder, and the center fielder are bachelors. The others are married. The shortstop, the third baseman, and Bill each cleaned up $100 betting on the fight. One of the outfielders is either Mike or Andy. Jerry is taller than Bill. Mike is shorter than Bill. Each of them is heavier than the third baseman.
Using these facts, determine the names of the men playing the various positions on the baseball team.
Hmm, not sure if you're getting this from a forum I used to frequent (I used to really like puzzle/ riddle sites ) or just happens to be a more (relatively) common riddle nowdays, either way, I don't completely remember but from what I do remember, and re-readig this, lets see...
Andy Dislikes Catcher Ed's sister engaged 2nd Base C. Field > R. Field Harry & 3rd Base same Building Paul + Allen won $20 from pitcher (@Pinochle) Ed + Outfielders play poker. Pitcher's wife = 3rd baseman's sister. Pitcher + Catcher + Infielders < Sam, except Allen, Harry, Andy. Paul + Andy + Shortstop lost $50 at racetrack Paul + Harry + Bill + catcher took trouncing from 2nd base at pool Sam in divorse suit. Cather and 3rd base 2 children each. Ed + Paul + Jerry + R. Fielder + C. Field Bachelors rest married. Shortstop + 3rd Base + Bill got $100 betting One Outfielder either Mike or Andy Jerry > Bill > Mike, all heavier than 3rd Base
So from the ones I do remember and from this, I THINK it should be:
Catcher: Allen Pitcher: Harry Shortstop: Ed C. Field: Bill R. Field: Mike L. Field: Sam 1st Base: Paul 2nd Base: Jerry 3rd Base: Andy
Correct? (Probably not. xD)
Haha, I still remember back then this puzzle gave everyone in the thread a headache, took forever for one of us to get it right, it can be a real pain indeed. |

Here's a new riddle of the day:
Two convicts are locked in a cell. There is an unbarred window high up in the cell. No matter if they stand on the bed or one on top of the other they canGÇÖt reach the window to escape. They then decide to tunnel out. However, they give up with the tunneling because it will take too long. Finally one of the convicts figures out how to escape from the cell. What is his plan? |

They stand on the Bed and on their shoulders, at the same time!
Or they turn the bed up the long way and stand on top of each others shoulders.
