I know the issue but it cant be helped yet. WP in the match is aswell a factor off ISK gain and nobody will use a dropship if you get very low payouts like 50.000ISK. While on the other hand a fully loaded dropship can cost you easy between 300-400 grand each. And investing so much ISK just for transport is not acceptable. It would be so easy to give the pilot WP for spawns or drops outs from his dropship. Basically pilot= WP when some 1 from your team spawns on you. And the thing with logis using a repair tool, well i see only 1 guy every 10 matches doing it. And i dont think these guys are happy that they aint getting WP for doing so. |

They need to do this to balance the game, the infantry cried about nerfing AV when it spawned Tank-a-thon 2012 last build. Did the vehicle women cry about the nerf on AV then? Nope.
The game is cyclical and they are doing their best to balance stuff out. There is always going to be someone pouting on the forums about their class getting nerfed, happens in every MMO. Do I really need to throw out the "Adapt or Die" motto?
Be happy... at least every vehicle user out there can stock up on 100s of different vehicles to spam Pub games with, considering they aren't going to wipe the characters for the next build. |

Off course pilots need rewards, and this is the point that they need to fix...
Put other turrets or rebuff missiles one is kitten !!! It's for noobeasymoder to play a FPS only with turrets ... They have a support value, not an OP one !!! And DS are not gunship (sure that we'll see you in a fighter if they show up....)
We're maybe on the good way to play a real FPS shooter, and I think this is where you're so mad , or maybe it's because now your gunners need to skill in hybrid passiv turrets, and you need it too ...
Well, you talked about adaptation, now it's your turn, but I'm sure that you'll find the next cheat, don't have a wore on it |

You read what you want to read.
Nowhere did I say that the logi's using the repair tool are happy about getting no WP. CCP is looking to add some things for the dropship pilot to be able to get WP, but just because that's not in yet doesn't mean that the dropship shouldn't function as a dropship.
Also, when we get bigger maps and transport of any kind is valuable, you can bet people will want dropships to transport people.

The most basic reason that dropships are not being used for transport is that the game isn't set up for them to do so.
Dropships are the public transprot of DUST. Think taxi or bus.
Now take a look at our maps. Do you see any maps that you can't hike with a few moments?
If you do want to run somewhere fast and you are in your heavy suit you still wouldn't call for a taxi or wait at the bus stop for a ride. No, you would call in your own ride. Starter LAV's are free, so why would you put in a call and wait for someone to pick you up? Maybe in pre-planed attak in a corporate match, but the average blueberry can't spell teamwork, much less be bothered to be on coms.
Those of us who love to fly would still do so despite paltry rewards, but we can't make people ride with us. Even if CCP gave me 50 WP for every spawn and a share of WP after dropoff it still wouldn't help me out. They would have to provide some incentive to people to call for a ride. Absent that, it's not going to be used.
Ask yourself, "When's the last time I thought about hitching a dropship ride?" |

Missile turrets were OP. They needed a nerf, and blasters and railguns a light buff.
They went too far with the first and did none of the second. So now we have three useless kinds of turrets, and the game is poorer for it.
No problem though, they probably will get it right next time. |

I can't speak on the Blaster/Railgun turrets before the missile nerf, since I never saw them used, but i've seen them used today with great effect. The turrets are starting to fill into roles and people are coming up to help with the objective more often. I love it.

Not really im skilled into tanks aswell. Silly regnum thinks that i put all my SP on a single horse how foolish. Actually i can handle quite good the stabilized large blaster. And nope im not calling in any dropships cause i wont get any SP and WP by doing that. And just lol its never me who goes 50+. But i will when i get pilot controlled turrets which are strapped on a gunship. Im mainly sad that my beloved LAV's have lost it function completely. R.I.P. Saga. |

I like ALL the Missile nerfs except the splash radius reduction.
If they did everything exactly as it is now, but bumped the splash radius of all missiles back to where they were, or at least close to that point, I'd be happy with the performance of my tanks. |

As the victim of many rocket (let's be honest, they're not really missiles) attacks, I do have to say that out of the three things done, only the splash damage was redefined well. There should be a some dispersion but, if the forums are any indication, not quite as much as they've implemented. The range and splash radius should have been left alone. And they really should fix the throw caused by even the slightest vehicle movement. |

Missiles obviously still aren't that bad.
For a while, my methana (with a prototype blaster, best damage mod on the market, and good gunner) got all the infantry into hiding.
Than along came an LAV with a missile launcher, and it kept me on the run for the rest of the battle. |

LARGE Missile Turrets are broken. And bumping their blast radius back up would almost entirely fix them, imo. |

The missiles have been way over nerfed not only has the blast radius been shrunk if you are caught in it you would see your pet gerbil could survive it making this a direct hit weapon and a close range one at that because the missile disappears into thin air after 200 meters. This is such an unfair nerf to players who spect into drop ships and missile turrets millions of sp were talking here. so how do we fix this nerf into more of a compromise. Increase the range by at least 100 meters because 200 is a pathetic insult my paintball gun shoots further, but keep the same tiny blast radius this gives enemy units a chance to get to cover as well as av guys to get a few more shots off before getting to cover but if you are just standing there or running out in the open and i put a rocket less than 2 meters away IT SHOULD do a lethal amount of damage especially to militia fittings. I feel this is a good compromise STAND THERE and you take rockets RUN and you will probably live so PLEASE CCP give us back our blast damage and keep the tiny radius taking away both is rendering the turret useless. They sit there and laugh at you through a storm of missiles. This sound like call of duty mischief.
I realize getting 64/0 matches is absurd but those were the ones where nobody was trying to shoot us down, it only takes 1 or 2 prototype forge blasts or swarm rockets. not only is it done as a gunship how the bloody hell are you going to land in a hot zone without a proper area of affect weapon because its like good luck hitting someone with a blaster or a railgun. Im not whining about dropships im saying the missile turret got a double nerf PLUS you can only kill those guys with your small gunnlogi turrets because you are less than 50 meters from them. the drop ship is an air vehicle that fits turrets who say we cant attack with them. like i said before it only takes a few forge blasts to get us, probably about the a third of what a tank can take. We get one shotted by tanks we can almost never stop because of swarms. If your blue dots cant pull it together to take down a flying bus then they deserve to die. A gunship would have something more evil than the small missile turret. i cant wait till you little cod pricks start complaining about artillery turrets and jets.

The dropship is a flying bus that you happen to be able to fit missile turretts on. its ccp that let us stack damage mods and spec into a built in 35% mod with the use of 1.6 million sp ANYONE with a breach forge can shoot us down, tanks blow us up swarms catch us off guard. I dont see the unfair advantage here that led to the complete uselessness of the small missile turret. |

Stop whining over your DROPSHIP no longer being effective as a GUNSHIP. not only is it done as a gunship how the bloody hell are you going to land in a hot zone without a proper area of affect weapon because its like good luck hitting someone with a blaster or a railgun. Im not whining about dropships im saying the missile turret got a double nerf PLUS you can only kill those guys with your small gunnlogi turrets because you are less than 50 meters from them. the drop ship is an air vehicle that fits turrets who say we cant attack with them. like i said before it only takes a few forge blasts to get us, probably about the a third of what a tank can take. We get one shotted by tanks we can almost never stop because of swarms. If your blue dots cant pull it together to take down a flying bus then they deserve to die. A gunship would have something more evil than the small missile turret. i cant wait till you little cod pricks start complaining about artillery turrets and jets. Teamwork and the right stuff takes care of any vehicle. CCP you give them the right stuff they just complain because they cant use teamwork. GIVE US THE MISSILE BLAST DAMAGE BACK!!!
