I decided to try another vision, still trying it out:
Asset denial logi with Systems hacking, Demolitions and AR.
AR for the times if kitten hits the fan, 2 hacking modules to speed up taking over things and demolitions to destroy assets that need to be. |

They seemed to have changed or remove these. The new skills are Shield Boost Systems, which gives +3% to dropsuit and vehicle shield recharge rate and unlocks ability to use Shield Booster Modules which are high-powered vehicle modules. Shield Control, which gives +5% per level to dropsuit and vehicle shields. Shield Boost systems requires Combat Engineering level 2 in order to learn and Shield Control Requires Shield Boost Systems level 4. Shield Enhancements which unlocks the use of shield enhancers like extenders and rechargers as well as gives a 3% reduction to the CPU that the shield enhancement modules use. Shield Enhancements requires Shield Boost Systems level 3 |

Thanks to everyone who has contributed to this, especially (obviously) the creator. It's provided some great insight into the specifics of different builds and strategies, much appreciated. I've been rocking as a Logi for a while now and I love it. I played as a heavy for a long time, and as much fun as it was to often be the top scoring in K/D (but not always) for the team, I got so much more satisfaction being the #1 on the team with something like a 0/4 than a 17/1. Within the last 2 or 3 days I've received emails from 5 different people commending me on the Logi work I was providing. I don't include this information as a form boasting, rather, I offer it as first, a testament to how many good people play Dust, and second, as a reason why Logi is so important. We ended up winning most of those battles and it felt so good to know that I made other people's gaming experience that much better.
I'm a Logi, I'm here to help. |

As many others before have said, and no doubt will say after I post this, I would like to thank you for taking the time for posting up this guide. Didn't realize all the mistakes I was making until I read this (such as using an smg as my main gun or running around with only an injector). I have improved greatly since reading this and even my squad mates are loving what I can do now. So once again thank you, and should we meet in a random game I'll gladly haul your ass out of the fire any day. |

Thank you for your patience. I have updated my guide. I have tried to gear it to your first setup as a logi and then where to go once you get the basics down. I have changed the weapon preferences (logi's should not use lasers - even though they are fun - unless just holding a base or on clear open terrain). Added some explanation to the skills and tried to make the WALL of TEXT a little more friendly.
Please comment if you feel I should make further changes. |

Any of us, (Edit, okay, not any of us... a few of us... a very small few of the old vets... maybe) could have written it but you actually did. I know there are other posts from Cross on core skills and a lot of stuff from Free Healing focusing on support and I would humbly include even myself on field tactics though I think we all can agree Maken Tosch is king of that game, but just for getting started and even for the most advanced support logis, this is the code and we should never forget it, especially when, like myself, some logis start getting too cocky on the field and frontlining ourselves for kills.
As always, thumbs up RedBleach.

My fits are very similar to the oneGÇÖs mentioned in this guide except for one item. I recently started running a Cardiac Regulator on my low slot alongside an Armor Repper. I have to sprint a lot to keep up with my squad. By the time they move out again, I am often rebuilding a depleted stamina bar & will be in a constant struggle to keep up. LogiGÇÖs in lower tier suits are very slow.
It is tempting to run an armor plate but that will just decrease mobility even more. A Cardiac Regulator will not make me run any faster but will allow me to regen stamina at a much faster rate.
My survivability has increased quite a bit because I now have the stamina recovery to stay with the squad, reposition to cover faster, cross the long stretch from the MCC back to the action w/o being picked off by snipers (as much), & be able to jump over objects/rails that would not be possible w/depleted stamina. I can also move more efficiently from group to group to drop nanohives, rez, & repair.
Unless I am chosen to run CPU/PG intensive equipment like Mass Drivers or Drop Uplinks, I would be hard pressed to run without a Cardiac Regulator ever again. Survival & effectiveness in the field is greatly enhanced by increased mobility in my opinion.
Great guide. |

nice infos.
But what makes me wonder, the default logic suit has a high module damage multiplier for a SECONDARY weapon, just the suit only has a LIGHT weapon slot, depsite the fact it carries a SMG on default, which would be able to be used as a secondary weapon...on other suits with a secondary slot.
Since the stats do not show the effect on the weapon damage, just the multiplier, i do not know if it has any effects on the weapon or not.
I would say the default module is a total waste, not complaining about the 'penalty, CPU and PG wise, but unsure if i really understood the damage multiplier of light and seconday weapons. |

A very good note, thank you - I'll try it out. I would suggest that you also/instead get to the next level of logi suits, the Type II has the sprinting speed similar to that of a scout. I put a regulator on him and there was no place he couldn't get to quickly. I'll be building a speed hacker with it. |

Good for you, get a better suit and use the expanded slots to help you excel in that arena and be the LogiRambo. You might even tweak it with a cardiac regulator like the above post suggested to give yourself more mobility. Good luck, and keep to the code. |

I just wanted to post a thank you for the many comments here. More over Im also more aware of the battle field and oft end up with 10 or so kills for half the lives I give. |

If that is the case I would say that it is a mistake and should be corrected, I cannot verify this at the moment. A secondary weapon mod, or "sidearm" damage mod would be ineffective. The single weapon slot is a light weapon slot that can fit light weapons or sidearms. BUT the damage mod only affects the given slot. For example, placing a Light weapon damage mod in a high slot and a light weapon, say an AR, the damage mod would be effective. Same goes for a Light weapon damage mod with an SMG in the light weapon slot. It is the slot that is affected.
A sidearm or heavy damage mod equipped and an AR or SMG in the Light weapon slot would be, to my knowledge, unaffected by such modules. Match the modules to the placement of the weapons. For a suit like the Heavy this is very important to remember, as well as those people who run sidearms in both their light weapon and sidearm slots. They must be specific with their modules and what they would like to be affected. |

As far as I've ever known, the weapon damage modifier affects the related weapon type, not the slot type. Heavy weapons affected by Heavy weapon damage modifiers. Light weapons affected by Light weapon damage modifiers.
i.e. An SMG will fit in a H (heavy) or L (light) weapon slot, but being an S (sidearm) weapon, it's output is affected by the Sidearm modifier.
This is why all suits have modifiers for all 3 weapon types, not just the slot types available to that suit. A Logi suit has modifiers for H, L, and S, but only a slot for L. If it were affected by the slot type it should, logically, only have an L damage modifier. |

Unless CCP has changed this within the last 4 weeks then I can confirm the above. Damage mods apply based on weapon type not slot type.

Considering the base fiiting of the logi, secondary damge mod plus SMG in the light weapon slot, this would make sense.
I guess i have to try out with an assault suit, putting SMG in both weapons slots, light and secondary, but just having a secondary damage modifiier. If both weapons have same efficiency, than it only applies to weapon TYPE not slot.
Kinda stupid since we actually have no weapon types, atleast there is nothing mentioned in the weapons discription of each gun. |

No worries mate and thanks for the confirmation Cross.
I'm about as messed up about the Profile/Scan data as the actual information itself is. I had to rewrite the Scan Precision info like four times and it's STILL not totally right... Not gonna worry about it until CCP gets it and all modules and equipment related working properly though which is still a ways off.
Glad we can all be constructive about this stuff though. Good to work with the both of you and increase my own understanding of things.

Had to add this from Vyzion Eyri, it fits with the selfless role of the logibro:
I will spend whatever costs necessary to ensure blueberries know they are never alone in the fight to overcome to pubstompers.
There is no battlefield I will not walk, no mountain I will not scale, no LAV I will not stand in front of, if it means the blueberries realise that one day, one glorious day, they will be that man. That selfless logibro who gave up 500k in one game to prove to them that protobears may be tough, but it is the spirit that lasts.
I will fight to the bitter end to pick up that fallen comrade, even if it means sacrificing myself by placing my shields between the body and the sniper I know is watching, hoping for a free kill, knowing that his rebirth will begin with the death of his saviour.
I will sink to the bottom of my wallet to ensure that blueberries will never cry for ammo, never hurt for armour, never sigh for bleeding out.
I will work until the enemies see my selfless acts of purity as true logibroness, and refuse to kill me.
Sometimes, it is the simple fact that a hero can be anyone, even a man doing something as simple as placing a nanohive on a blueberry and telling him his killing streak wasn't over, that keeps me going.
But why do we fall?
