I really dont get it at all. I mean Im a sniper I could have thought our position was sniping and reconnaissance on the battle field. So y are you getting mad at Snipers because their good at what they do. That like getting mad at a Heavy because their always in the front lines and never on the cliffs sniping or not leading the rush into battle, and thats redonkuluss y because thats what the suits are made for. Also we are very helpful in battle such as being able to spot large group of ppl that others might not see of being able to tell the location of tanks, LAV's and dropships. providing cover and assistants. I just don get it |

It's simple really. 1 good sniper is all the team needs. And if he's good, he's bearly shooting. He's in constant communication with the leaders and forever feeding them info. He only shoots in self defence or to take out a high priority target who's giving the ground team hell. In reality, snipers on ops shoot about once per engagement IF they're lucky. What you want to play as is NOT a sniper. You want to play as what the military calls a designated marksman. http://en.wikipedia.org/wiki/Designated_marksman
People see DMs and instantly think he's a sniper. He's not. He extends the operational and operative range of the squad he is attached to. Snipers are attached to platoons in pairs. Therefore there 2 snipers for around every 40 men.
People also get annoyed because out of 14 players per team, 9 on each will be 'snipers' who are complete and utter dead weight to the team, who never cap or protect objectives, who never actually seem to lower their scope and do nothing but look at their own K\D. They also don't fit in to a shooter based around teamwork.
I personally thing the class needs a RADICAL redesign, or left as is but limited to 2 per team per game. Because right now, having snipers on your own team almost gurantees you've lost. Especially if there is more than 3. |

From what I've seen, the majority of people's problems are with sniping being too easy, and with there being too many snipers.
It's not about the good snipers being good at being snipers. It's about the game making BAD snipers a viable method of earning money with minimal personal risk. You can be a bad sniper and still get a good K/D, and because you're not dying much (if at all), you're seeing almost all the post-battle income as pure profit.
Good snipers are fine. But the game makes things too easy for BAD snipers as well. |

Well for one there is no way that a team on any of these maps need just one sniper. Y because it is impossible for just one sniper to view the entire battle field angle wise. So just having one would be very stressful for that person. 3 would seem like more of a minimum for these maps. Also just because you have more snipers on your team doesnt mean that you've lost. If they can all work together then you have a much better chance at winning. |

There are too many redlining snipers earning too much WP/ISK for doing too little to help the team. On the other hand, once the maps go full scale 2 snipers probably isn't enough, and indeed there will be a need for DM's since they can cover/clear fast amounts of territory.
But there are probably around 50 gazillion active threads on the matter already....

Good snipers are fine. But the game makes things too easy for BAD snipers as well. Amen, brother. This is why CCP Wolfman is currently retooling sniper weapons such that the shooter will have to account for projectile travel time and bullet drop when shooting, such that a certain skill level is necessary to use these weapons.
In my opinion, the primary issue with snipers is the extremely low skill ceiling to becoming one. If you're as good as some of the ones we all know from the killfeed, you can have people hanging around the edges of the map trying to stay alive. However, as Garrett said, you can also be a lousy shot, and still come out on top in income because you're hiding away where no one can see you, getting a single kill each match and raking in the rewards. I see this change that is being worked on as we speak as a way to raise the skill ceiling far above what it is now, and reward the better shooters while removing the easy route from those without sufficient skill.
There will always be casual gamers, and CCP is doing their part to ensure that those people are on the field with us where they belong, not being useless redline snipers for personal profit. |

It's because snipers in general are totally worthless. Now, there are a few very good snipers. But certainly 2 on any team is enough. The reason I really hate snipers is because they feel they are the only players who should never change class. "But I'm a sniper" is not a valid reason to go cap objectives using a pistol. "I'm rubbish and will honestly get in your way" is a legitimate excuse. You see where I'm going. Basically, if there's 8 snipers on a team, they'll just keep sniping. They won't change class, call a tank or any of that jazz. They JUST snipe.
There are a very few good/awesome snipers in the game. These snipers are more important than grunt assault players like myself. I could be easily replaced in my team. I couldn't replace our snipers. |

So it's a light weapon the sniper rifle. So upgrading things like light weapon reload speed ect will make it faster if that's the case. Many thanks for your info. I've been playing this for months now, and I'm trying out the sniper as a last resort. The assault class are just tank fodder, the pilot doesn't seem to do anything. The heavy is so slow. So I've gone for the sniper so I don't have to be that involved in the slaughter.

Most people are upset about the snipers who never leave the red zone and hardly ever die because there is no risk involved in this. To me, this is the real problem with snipers. Whether a bad sniper is in a corp or not, and whether a casual player is in a corp or not, the current sniping mechanics along with how the weapons are balanced still make them a SAFER way to earn ISK and SP than any other strategy at present. Casual players WILL see that, in comparison with ANY other strategy available to them, sniping is practically risk-free, and in NPC contracts, you'll see lots of bad snipers, unless things change.
As mentioned, current plans should see change happening to the sniping mechanics, so we'll just have to wait and see how that turns out. |

First I want to say it feels like your not asking why but trying to defend being a sniper. Its not so much the sniper its that the class is always jammed into Fps games but doesnt really fit. Dust maps are not designed to have snipers , you cant have snipers in a map that is just a open field with no real cover. Yes there is a random rock here and there but not enough to really be called cover.
Second in Fps games snipers dont recon as much as they think they do we have radars, minimaps, jets, helicopters, radar plane scans, and other stuff like that. really what information are you really giving that we dont already know.
Third when you get out of game modes such as death match or team death match. The way to win is more about movement then kill counts. Plus snipers dont follow squad leader orders , if i tell you to take C and your on the hill at A. Of course I think your useless and suck.
As for dust problem with snipers , its that no one can shoot back at you. Im not talking about the tip of my hat I have no clue where this guy even is distance shots. Im talking about I can see your whole body without a scope but cant shoot at you snipers.
What I would like to see one Fps type game attempt is when you choose a sniper class. A randomly player target from the enemy team is chosen for you to kill. Points are only rewarded for killing that target. Then if you kill your target a new random target is chosen. |

Personally, it's that some scrub up in the mountains is capable of making a nice profit off of seven or eight kills while bringing minimal risk to himself while I, as a heavy, need to put my ass on the line in nearly every engagement.
I'm up in the fight pretty much all the time unless I'm forge-gunning, but then I'm taking out vehicles and just giving the enemy a hard time while still making myself an easier target than the snipers are because that weapon lights up like a Christmas tree and requires a long charge up time to fire, and if you're forced into an infantry engagement then you better hit with your first shot or you're going down.
TL:DR, Sniping is very easy, and very low-risk when compared to most other options. |

Countersnipers go on the frontlines- just bring up your scrambler pistol operation and sidearm sharpshooter. Then you'll notice you're not only effective with picking off targets outside of the range of ARs, but also that other snipers (which are being useless) are VERY easy targets for you. |

NPC contracts are still contracts. And they're the system under which we're currently playing, for the most part. You might want to note the use of the word "contract" in the phrase "NPC contract" - just driving that point home, since you seem not to have seen it earlier. NPC CONTRACT. |

Agreed, mostly. Sitting up on a hill somewhere overwatching an objective or chokepoint gets boring as hell though. I've had moderate success with a ground level tac sniper rifle/ firefly kit. My skills are already heavy on dropsuit command and sensor dampening, with added hacking skills and a running speed mod, he darts around from cover to cover hacking and pot-shotting. The kit runs approx 18k, is paper thin, and a whole lot more fun than parking up on a hill. Sometimes it works absolutely horribly, sometimes I can top the WP board on hacks and team spawns alone. Every once in a while I get the treat of sneaking up on a NULL cannon guard and unloading the SMG right between the shoulderblades. Not bad for what started as a comedy gimmick fit.

That if you get all your hacking and running skills up yea maybe. But out suit will be very weak against gun fire so i dont see how much mayhem we could cause. But for the most part this scout suit is not meant for frontline action now maybe if we had some cloaking and better sneak attacks and such then sure but no. A sniper rifle is meant to be used for long range. |

Sniping is very, very easy in this game.
thats why I don't do it. I should just snipe in the starter fit until I get enough isk to buy my heavy suit skill book (started a new character).
Sniping is what I usually do in these types of games. Sniping is what I did in Planetside practically the whole 2 years I played it. But in this game, it is too easy, and you can't swing a stick without hitting some Kitten in a scout suit with a sniper rifle.
so I decided to do something else. |

Ok, so I've upgraded my scout suit to the level 2 suit, it really hasn't made a difference. I can still be killed with one shoot. I've upgraded my weapon skill till level 5, my sniper recoil to level 4 and my sniper proficiency to level 2 as well. Doing this has taken me ages since the last reset. And after pouring all my isk and sp into, so far there's no real difference. It still takes two shoots to take somebody out, and you can still be 1 shoot killed. After doing another ton of sp and isk on the light weapon upgrades, there is still no difference.
The only difference between the stock sniper and the super sniper I'm trying to create is around 10 HP, and 3 extra bullets in the magazine. I'm going to keep trying though, maybe sooner or later, the sniper class won't be so rubbish. The logistics are even better than the snipers and there rubbish too. The sp cap gets reset every Wednesday, and it's only Sunday now and I'm already being capped. Grrrrr

Because right now, having snipers on your own team almost gurantees you've lost. Especially if there is more than 3. I can overwatch on Manu Peaks by myself, you just have to know where to park. Try again. Basically Amarrkis, snipers in this game are a detriment to the team. Can you tell me with a straight face that 9 snipers on the hills on Manus Peak will do ANYTHING to take at least 2/3 of the objectives that is needed to win? Nope, they are just going to sit there and wonder why suddenly the other team has 3 points and they are being pushed back into their spawn. |

TL;DR
This. And it isn't that most players hate snipers. Its that at the lower levels sniping is way too easy. Assault classes take at least an investment of just over 1million SP to unlock the Duvolle. The heavy class is extremely thankless at lower levels...it takes a large investment of SP to be truly effective. On the other hand, you can pick up the food stamp brand sniper fit and own from your campground somewhere on top of a building or in the mountains on Manus Peak.
EDIT: Just saying. I don't personally hate on people playing the game whichever way they choose |

Please go back and read my post about the difference between a Designated Marksman and a Sniper. Let me make this clear: You are NOT a sniper. There is NO sniper class in this game! It is INCORRECTLY named and you're actually playing as a Designated Marksman. You're job is to extend the operational (Read: Lethal) range of your squad. You are supposed to be on the front line, right next to your squad leader hitting priority targets and suppressing others so the actual killers of your unit (HMGs and AR) can get close enough to cause the real damage.
A sniper, that is, a true sniper... is more of a scout. He rarely fires his gun and spends 99% of his time on a radio. A marksman however is with the squad, giving them nearly double the lethal range and covering the rest of the squad with accurate fire. If you lone wolf, you're doing it COMPLETELY wrong. |

What you are takling about as a Designated Marksman, within this game, is the suit with a tactical assault rifle and Light Weapon Sharpshooter/Proficiency trained. Whether you agree with the semantics or not, there is a sniper class in this game. It uses sniper rifles, sniper rifle skills to train, and relies on not being seen or shot to work. If it looks like a duck, quacks like a duck.. it's probably a duck.
Many people that actually play the sniper class beyond the starter fits would agree that a useful sniper does provide forward intel, but also operates *mostly* independently of a squad on the ground. Contrary to whatever recruitment video you may have seen, a sniper/spotter unit does actually operate usually as an independent lone wolf team, and is definitely not emitting radio signals 99% of the time. In any case, this ain't the Marine Corps or the Navy SEALs.

Let me start with this: I snipe with this character and I run an AR but my alt is a designated marksman (yes, I run with squads) AND I'm in the top 75 of KDR with over 1000 kills. Just want to give my qualifications before I make a point.
Vallud is on the money. Completely agree with his analysis. Your job is to take out long range targets so your squad can do its job, namely cap objectives. If you're in the hills, intel should be your main priority.
Half of a team "sniping" means a loss. We can all agree on that. People don't hate snipers, they hate 1) the ease of sniping, the 2) relative low risk, and 3) the disregard some snipers have for winning.
There's a thread on here about the economics of sniping (titled "what's going on" or something) and it's quite good. Anyone interested in the problems with sniping should check it out. But basically, he argues that there's no reward for winning, and that promotes sniping. I agree, but that's not the only problem. Ease of use is, like a lot have mentioned, a problem as well.
I, personally, can't wait until travel time and bullet drop are implemented for all the sniper rifles. That will be a wonderful day, because you will see a drop in snipers (although there will always be people who sit in the mountains for fear of dying). But I've been using the experimental rifle almost exclusively lately, and it's sooooo much more fun than the others. When you drop someone on the run with a headshot it's infinitely more gratifying. It actually takes some skill. Try it out. It's good times. |

The ONLY argument you can level against me is that it doesn't matter because "everyone HERE will be in a corp anyway"
That sounds like the new players who pick the game up post-release don't matter at all to you. The people who are just going to play casually, and not join a corp don't matter to you. Sniper mechanisms currently discourage the DM playstyle. That role is played best by the tactical AR. If you want to see more of that playstyle among snipers, then snipers would actually need a significant buff |

I giggle when I hit a sniper with my forge gun and he disintegrates right there in his sniper perch.

You can change either the sniper mechanics or the game's reward system so that non-contributing redline snipers don't get as well rewarded, or have a harder time achieving anything without some measure of risk. |

Mobius Wyvern wrote:Garrett Blacknova wrote:From what I've seen, the majority of people's problems are with sniping being too easy, and with there being too many snipers.
No he isnt stop lieing. They just need to ove the redline back on that map on that mountain side...thats all.HE is not retooling anything. |

Someone else said something similar above, but...
There are generally two kinds of snipers.
One who sits in a 'remote' far off place that the enemy generally won't look or shoot at them, and has a very narrow FoV of the battlefield, and just pops off shots with varying degress of success at the few people they see during the match.
One who travels with their team but hanging back somewhat, covering them as they capture objectives making sure no one sneaks up on their squad while they do their thing. I have only seen two or three snipers actually do this in almost 8 months of playing Dust. I have cried a small tear of joy each time I see it.
The first is an example of a horrible style of gameplay in an objective based game mode. In a deathmatch it is slightly more acceptable, but still less effective than the second method in nearly every scenario. In other games where KDR is far more important than the win, the first is an effective and excellent way to pad your stats. However, in Dust gaining the win as a team is far more important than KDR. When people are handing out contracts, people will not care what your mercs' KDR is, they will only care about how often you win. They won't care if you can get 40 kills a match sniping if your team still loses!
Now, people who adopt the first style as their own might say "Yeah, but those 40 kills a match let my team move forward and capture stuff because dudes are dead and not able to shoot them!" or some such nonsense. But really : A far out place generally can only cover one area decently. Can you honestly use that line, if your cliff is overlooking C, but your team is getting slaughtered by the enemy at A (which you do not have a clear shot to) and none of your team is even trying to take C?
Seriously. Cliff snipers, find yourself a squad. Learn to move with them in ways that cover them. You don't need to be on the front line, but if you're staying in one spot for the majority of the match, you're just robbing yourself of kills and a win. I can promise you that once you get yourself a squad (even if they are just random nubs) or if you just move around covering your team as they take each objective, your kill count will rise drastically. You will die a bit more often but your KDR will still remain well over positive. It might even go up because you're putting yourself constantly in a position that puts more enemies inside your scope!
And corps : If you find a cliff sniper, take him under your wing. Teach him to cover your squads properly and watch your corps' overall effectiveness skyrocket! |

DMR needs to be out in game. Been asking about it since June build.
Secondly CCP should make it so that you cannot get kills if you're behind the redline.
1 sniper is enough per team. Most players that switch to sniper load outs suck at sniping. That and if you're on the losing team, bet half the team is gonna switch to a sniper load out. If that's the case those useless scrub snipers should just leave game. Waste of space players. |

Countersnipers go on the frontlines- just bring up your scrambler pistol operation and sidearm sharpshooter. Then you'll notice you're not only effective with picking off targets outside of the range of ARs, but also that other snipers (which are being useless) are VERY easy targets for you. My prefered playing style. Quote from a random game: "We have enemy snipers under the MCC. BANG! One down. BANG! Two down..."

Quote:Secondly CCP should make it so that you cannot get kills if you're behind the redline. This right here. This would solve 1/2 of my problem with snipers, and 100% of my problems with the HAV's and Dropships.
Also, how many games have you seen WON by a team of 9-12 snipers with 1-4 gust in the feild caping objectives - and I don't mean a better KDR than the other team, I mean the enemy MCC has been destroyed WON?
All you wannabe snipers out there - GTFO the red zone, really, your angles from there only cover a small portion of the map, Plug in your Mic and provide callouts when the team you claim to be "supporting" is being flanked or when the enemy is making a hard push for an objective.
I've gotten to play with ONE good sniper so far in dust, and sadly I didn't catch his name. He covered one objective, preventing it from being captured (awesome line of fire) while providing callouts for enemy vehicles being deployed (from our perspective, not his), while also marking objectives and calling down warbarge strikes like a madman. When all this was over, he was sill only 14 and 2, but he was being a sniper, not a team - screwing KDR *****. If your team is losing while you hide behind the redline, drop your **** and grab your socks and actually help your team WIN. If all you do is sit and rack up kills, you aren't a "sniper" your a KDR *****.
PS, if you can't tell, I enjoy playing with a sniper on my squad (preferably leading it if he's good with squad commands and strikes), while I think KDR whores with sniper rifles should be kicked in the nuts hard enough to make sure they never breed - especially the ones on my team. |

I don't get mad at snipers who actually do what they are supposed to. The fact is, 99% of snipers either don't know what they are doing or know what they are doing but are ineffective.
If you are a getting one or two kills a game, you aren't doing enough. Simply 'spotting' groups of enemies isn't that helpful. Good snipers will get more than 10 kills a round, cover objectives/spawns, and help capture objectives. Every round. |

Ok again no that didnt because you just now changed what you were referring to from the gun to the character style so no. So close minded what part of what I said doesn't make any sense *sigh* I just like *sigh* explained it in my last post but watever. I saaaaaaaaaaaaaaiiiiiiiiiiiiiid that at first you where talking about the sniper rifle which is not made for close combat. Then you started to talk about the scout suit which in terms of specs is also not built for the front lines. |

lol First off I never mentioned the scout suit and all I said was a sniper rifle is essentially a weapon with a low RoF and high damage output and in alot of situations actually does a good job when used on the frontline, makes perfect sense to me. Maybe if you tried it more often instead of camping in a high place you will begin to understand. |

I don't think the problem is 100% snipers (good or bad). Maybe the problem is that they can snipe you from their redzone, and that's kinda dificult for teams who have not snipers in their team (it's kinda the same with tanks sniping from their redzone). Yes, you can climb the mountain and kill them but if they are not close enough from the "general zone" you will get suicide. I think the principal problem is the redzone. The rest it's just normal. If you're a regular player, you know where they are. You just need 1 sniper to take them down and they won't back to those places. Get a good suit and they will need 3 or 4 shoots to kill you. Move between mountais or buldings and you won't even feel snipers.

I've half read this post, and if I'm honest I'd love to run around with a machine gun, but u say snipers are hard to play against, it's also very hard to play against a team of 4 communicating with headsets to take you down. It's almost impossible to fight back on your own. I'm not making excuses for snipers, but sometimes after being taken out 2 or 3 times by a group, it feels good to snipe a couple! :)
Just remember, we don't all have headsets, We're just playing for fun, it's a game.
And there aren't many maps so we all pretty much know the sniper points, so keep eyes peeled and stay safe out there :)
Ps not after an argument, and I personally defo take onboard he switch weapons and just have a go at something other an sniping |

Manus Peak.
Enemy snipers behind the redline, camped out on the hills.
We had ONE sniper taking them on. In a Heavy Suit.
I was camped out behind a nearby rock with my Repair Tool. When he took a bit of damage, he ran over to me, and I patched the holes. By the time he was full repaired, his shields were usually past half strength again as well, so he just stepped back out and faced down all the sniper fire.
Enemy changed tactics and brought a tank. Sniper kept sniping. I broke out a Swarm Launcher.
Surprisingly, with more than half the enemy team sitting in their spawn doing absolutely nothing, our team won. Funny how that works out sometimes. |

Well, i have 350+ on Shiled and Armor and that's why they need. And with the first shoot you can see where that came from and you just get cover, it's not that hard if a sniper try to take you down alone. Maybe it's annoying if you're in the middle of a "battle" with 50% health and he takes you. But i don't see them like a big problem. Like i said, for me, the redzone is a bigger problem, for snipers, for tanks, for dropships (having a bigger redzone) flying to everywhere, getting full hp and coming back. |

Bzzt. Wrong. Sniper Rifles are not meant for long range. Any gun can do long range (A standard rifle can hit targets at 500 meters, 300 accurately). The point of a sniper rifle is to hit targets between 3 and 600 meters ACCURATELY . That's the key difference. It's not made for range, it's made for precision. The range is a by-product of that.
Please for the love of all that is holy, stop with the over romanized idea of a sniper being a lone wolf killer hiding in the long grass. It does not exist and the fact it's perpetuated HURTS team based FPS games! |

Wow, one can use any weapon how they want. If people can snipe on the front line then, go for it. If you want to skill up your scrambler pistol to do long range, go for it. You wanna bring a knife to a gun fight, go for it. Why put limitations on things? |

Well, when i see a match inbalanced and i will get kill so many times, sometimes i use my redzone to snipe people. I have not problem with a safe zone, i think it's necessary. But i think, the difference between my redzone and the enemy redzone is too big. Maybe if an Assault Suit, or Logistic Suit can go to the enemy redzone, kill the sniper and come back in less than 15 seconds will be better for the gameplay. Because in this way, people get forced to use snipers. I know, if you have a little of all in your team is better. But i don't think that anyone wants to gets forced to play with something that he/she don't want to or don't like. FPS SNIPER -A member of a FPS team who uses a Rifle usually equiped with a Telescopic sight and picks off targets. They come in 2 varieties Newbs and Pro. Newbs tend to use it and shoot anyone and then brag about being 1337 and say i sniped 59 people on Halo today. A pro sniper waits for that 1 shot, be it a Mger who has hassled the time or a enemy sniper. He doesnt galavant after kills he is there to make sure his team survive. Like a true sniper he doesnt brag, or claim to be uber 1337, he just does his job and carries on.
Team leader: take out that mg Newb: I aint gonna do that when i could pick off these 5 easy targets Pro: ill do it
SNIPER -a remarkably skilled marksman in real life, or in a video game 1)in the video game scenario, he/she is usually considered "cheap", a "noob", or a coward (s)he usually pisses off those of the other team by sniping them from halfway across the map from a very covert location. although (s)he is a threat from far away, one can strafe back and forth to avoid being shot while closing in on his/her location, and if the player gets to close enough to the sniper, the sniper is rendered virtually useless because "unscoped" shots are particularly hard to pull off 2)a sniper may also **** off his teammates, too, by shooting the person the player is sneaking up on, therefore making the sniper a "kill stealer"
*player suddenly drops dead, no visible killer in sight*
Player: god**** snipers! |

LOL i know, i mean, if i want to play all the match, with a heavy suit, you must give me the chance to kill an assault, logistic or sniper suit. You must give them differents advantage to the suits, but you need to do anything with any suit, maybe faster and better with one than other, but anything with anyone |

Well your no fun like I said before, close minded *sigh* I guess you just want to keep this going huh fine then LIKE I SAID BEFORE OK STAY WITH ME. The Sniper Rifle is MEANT for long distance OK YOU STILL WITH ME it in no way WAS MEANT for SHORT RANGE/ FRONT LINES but some how you dont seem to understand that Bzzt. ANNNT WRONG, SORRY, U ARE THE WEAKEST LINK GOODBYE!!! Yes it is meant for precision but it is mean for precision over LONG RANGE or there wouldn't be a scope that has great power than a assault rifle. Tho yes you can use one closer, The sniper rifle that is in the game (which i should have stated early) is not meant for such a thing. |

You wanna bring a knife to a gun fight, go for it. Why put limitations on things? If your talking to be indirectly and I said IF. Then i never said that one could not use the weapon that way. I said that the rifle that is in the game is not built for it. But I said by all means for him to go a revolutionize the way ppl use that sniper rifle. |

Seriously, no. Not every soldier on the battlefield should have a fair fight against every other soldier on the battlefield. An army NEEDS varied members or it won't be viable. You need vehicles or AV guys to take down the enemy's vehicles. You need Logistics/Support people equipped with Nanohives. Snipers are great at long range, but vulnerable in close, and vulnerable to counter-sniping.
If you, personally, aren't prepared to change your role to fit the situation, bring along someone who WILL. Or bring friends who fill different roles from your own. Don't expect to run ANY job solo and handle EVERYTHING the game throws at you all the time. |

Going a little off point here... You've never fired a gun, have you? It has a scope so it's precise. Telescopic sights exist for Designated Marksmen to do their job easier (Extend accurate, lethal engagement range of their squad, remember when I said that part?)... gun's are not easy to aim, nothing like a video game, son.
If we're talking about the game, well then it's still a redundant, useless tool that can have it's role filled more efficiently by someone in Assault Gear using the Tac Rifle with Sharpshooter 5. A sniper does 1 thing in this game... And it does it poorly. A good sniper is better, but he's still gimping himself by a weapon with limited and difficult application.
Anyone else get the feeling they're talking to a wall? Dude, seriously, defend the play style all you want, it don't change the fact it's from a long gone and long dead genre of FPS gaming. It has no place in modern shooters, it contributes nothing. |

Like i said, of course it's better if you have all in your team, and I never said fair fight against every other soldier. I just said, a possibility. |

Sorry for the english. See you Everyone and this redzone stuff has anyone ever thought for one moment(not saying you dont) that each team can not see the red line that separates their team from the other teams safe zone. So while i see a nice safe zone that I've found to snipe from. Someone else see's a sneaky sniper thats scared to come down and play because they are doing what their suit and weapon are built for. has anyone every thought of that? I really like your name by the way PS: Temari beat him bad. If i have a team with 0 snipers and i want to kill one who is in the top of some building in his redzone? Give me options, make the game flexible. supply depots LOL i know, i mean, if i want to play all the match, with a heavy suit, you must give me the chance to kill an assault, logistic or sniper suit. This is why ppl create corps so that they can have an assortment of players to take onto battle( not to say that you didnt know that.) But i do think that each class should have at least 5 special things that only that suit can accomplish. |

Like i said, of course it's better if you have all in your team, and I never said fair fight against every other soldier. I just said, a possibility. If an enemy sniper is as far back into the redzone as they can possibly get without suiciding themselves, a guy with Sidearm Sharpshooter to level 5 will still be able to hit with his SMG. Not consistently, and not for much damage, but they WILL be able to hit. If he's NOT that far behind the redline (they usually aren't), you don't have to push as hard to get your SMG to hit them. HMGs can hit effectively as well. Laser Rifles are pretty effective counter-sniper weapons, especially when the sniper is running a Scout suit. Assault Rifles can also fill the job in most cases. The Tactical AR is a particularly effective counter-sniper weapon.
Tanks are another viable tool for taking out snipers.
What exactly is the loadout you're struggling with? Unless you have a Shotgun, in which case, it goes without saying why the sniper is winning, there IS a chance. Sometimes not MUCH of a chance, but there's still a chance that you can land the kill. |

Maybe if you tried it more often instead of camping in a high place you will begin to understand. my fault you said sniper in your second post, most of the time when someone says sniper they kinda mine the whole thing suit and all. I get that but again that just not how i want to use the weapon
what y wouldn't I. the ppl who make this game put there time into making use entertainment. Tho yes im sure it would bring smiles to their faces im still not just gonna blow their interpretation of the weapon they created off. |

Ok, i understand you, now tell me something, if snipers in the top of some mountain or bulding in their redzone are paper, where are the scissors to take them down? You need another paper for win against a paper, that's kinda funny and weird haha |

No I have not but im sure it would be fun to Yes I remember when you said that but lets see if you remember this/ I said that THIS RIFLE IN THE GAAAAAAAAAME or should i say the SCOPE is built for long range now maybe a different sniper rifle would be better for closer distance but not this one. Also were here to live out a fantasy/ future this isnt real life, "father"
Um i dont think we're talking I believe that we are typing but ooooook. Also this is a horrible view in my opinion. Just because some ppl you a certain thing for a different reason doesn't mean i use it for that same reason. I help out my I contribute. So when you can see what on the other side of the battle filed with your scrabbler you come and tell me. A;so a horrible view if you where to make games a class that has been deeply rooted in to shooting games of all sort and to just throw it away. Now thats not to say that you cant put this class but also something with a a spin of it sure but just yea. |
