Personally I'm "meh" about it, I do like how I can use militia gear and compete with people in proto gear now instead of having to get really lucky or outnumber them. Proto suits a few builds ago got ridiculous, wearing a full proto suit basically promised you a 5.0+ KDR even if you weren't good at all. Now I can compete in my noobie gear ^.^ I too have been training mostly into passive skills, weaponry at the moment. Only at 1.3 mil though, need to play more. On the other hand... that means tanks are going to be able to squish people in proto gear just as easy as everyone else, well, almost as easily anyway. Strange to see them gimp all the suits but leave tanks the same, then gimp AV equipment at the same time. Clearly not favoring the foot soldiers this build, but I'll still remain one of them xD ... Maybe the 5.0 KDR (greatly exaggerated) is why i like it everyone who plays has the opportunity to be good by playing a long long time or by being great at shooters. It also teaches teamwork first since u will die with lower health suits compared to proto if u dont travel in groups. idk why they ever changed it i see the whole game being ruined in one nerf thats why im praying they change it back this should not play like other shooters After further speculation I actually like the change somewhat, I think it's still weak sauce because vehicles are going to be able to easily kill people with expensive fits but w/e, hopefully more people group up and use teamwork.. been seeing a lot of it lately which is promising. More teamwork from randoms than I would expect. I'm fine with the way they are now, from my experience in playing the last couple of hours (hardly got to play this build so far). The opinions between us clearly are different though. I think that to be good at a shooter you have to learn from your mistakes, get better at aiming, predicting enemy movements, flanking, sticking with the team. Basically being and doing good should rely more on your own skill than the game holding your hand because you have enough SP to afford super suits. I'm really enjoying infantry engagements more than I ever did in the previous builds. If that's your opinion then that's OK, I'm just letting the developers know which one I prefer. Giving feedback. Because of prototype suits I feel a lot of the gunfights devolved into strafing contests, less about skill and tactics and more about moving your left analog stick in random movements and counteracting it with your right analog stick. Not very skill based or involving much strategy IMO. Now that people die faster more thought is put into things, at least for me and it seems to be paying off. Loving the change now. Note that that's just from infantry vs infantry point of view for now, I haven't had the chance to train into AV stuff yet.
if they keep it this way i dont see myself wanting to buy proto armor seems like a huge waste cause id die just as quick guns get better but armor sucks just as much? makes no sense
and the high end battles would still be bring in the Gods Of Shooters so that would even itself out and i doubt low skilled people could compete but i only argue because i seen older builds if i didnt i would have said make it like MW3 and thats something i dont want now |

You know what the problem is when it comes to infantry and vehicles. The problem is you decide to get into it's r@p3 radius, and think it's A-okay to just stand that close while shooting at it. I'm not trying to argue whether or not vehicles (HAV - Heavy Attack Vehicles especially) are over powered or not. No, I just find that when it comes to players and vehicles; players more often then not decide that is the best time to go, John Rambo, and take the vehicle head on. The point of the forge gun, and swarm launcher is the ability to stand a distance away, and still make those kill shots. I'm just sayin' if you think about it taking a vehicle head on is going to get you killed. Heavy or not. Take a proper position with cover and advantage and then take your shot. |

I agree, which is why everyone complained. The FG had it's range nerfed, and the SL missiles end up hitting random little hills and bumps in the road, when shot from longer distances. Half the time, you're forced to be within the tank's "r@p3 radius". Once the FG returns to its prior range, and SL is fixed, You'll prob see less tank dominance...even w/o having to nerf the tanks. |

Skilling up to prototype assault suits makes no sense now, prototype suits are not worth the sp or the isk they cost. Trust me your talking to a guy with 100 prototype suits right now. |

I like the changes. Would prefer that dropsuit shields are only increase by SP. And too late now but, I think CCP should change form paying/ slkilling up dropsuits to buying/ skilling up modules (low, high, equipment etc.) to a standard dropsuti.
How much SP you put in to the type of module skills etc allows you to use what type of modules and how many. So you could have 2 highs 3 lows , 3 highs 1 low etc if you wanted etc. And its the modules that cost money. increasing the number increases the cost of the dropsuit. |

CcP sseeems to be killing off any general feeling of advancement. At least give the suits even more slots at proto level to make up for the nerfs that way we can customize our characters more. |
