I feel like the Re-Stocking tool needs to be set back to the way it was where you restocked up to a certain number you desired, not this new way. It causes me to have to restock manually to account for multiple modules of the same type on my suit. |

Although when they introduce new vehicle types that may change. They've nerfed marauders pretty bad. Took away their 1.5x damage and raised the price to 1.2 million. They also lowered their CPU/PG. I roll in a Soma and do better financially and KDR wise. Wow they have been swinging that nerf bat pretty hard haven't they. All we needed was more.options and the marauders would have been no problem anyway. I mean webs and seeking AV grenades with a forge or swarm support would have done the trick.
I am very disappointed by this. |

Hm. I have a lot of thoughts on the new build already. Some good, and some bad of course. So I'll start with the aesthetics, and superficial -- I really enjoy the new color pallets. It may just be me, but the colors seem different. infact the textures do too. They seem gritty, or pasty. Maybe a tad bit of both. I've noticed a lot appearence changes too though. From vehicle textures, to dropsuits. Like removing of the eyes on the Amarr heavy dropsuits. Which makes them look fiercer, and more intimadating. The scouts seem to pop, by which I mean they seem more abriviated, and defined. Not darker, and subdued. The assaults saw the minimalist of changes. Instead of a subdued faded blue, it's blackened, and more accented. The logistics do not look like glow sticks, but again they seem to just feel more there in persons. Infact I would say so for all dropsuits. The vehicles especially Caldari tanks they seem more detailed, and the new pallet of colors, and lighting seem to only display this. Now the MQ (Merc Quarters) is something to talk about. I'm loving the new MQ in which I received. However I have no idea if it is of Gallente origin, or Amarr. There is a lot of gloss though. Golden/brass gloss to be exact. Looks neat either way. Also a number of the weapon textures have been modified or changed as well. The shotgun now glows from the heat/power source which is a nice touch. I'm still getting used to the new build though.
Onto other subjects though. Lets talk about the hud (Head Up Display) and and UI (User Interface). I'm in love with the new hud, and defining objectives, and subjectives. Such as turrets, CRU (Clone Reanimation Unit), and other varying battlefield objects, and enemy support (as well). With that said though I feel it's a lot like a mixture of MAG, and Battlefield combined. Somewhere in the middle I suppose. Is this a bad thing? No, not really, and again I love it. It's very eye opening, and catching. However with the changing of the way skirmish is played (and subject now) I have to admit it can be a bit jarring. Infact I'd say the players abaility to both understand the game and play it properly has increased in difficulty somewhat. Especially for newer players. Not a bad thing, but depending on the direction CCP has chosen. Maybe. Though I find the new skirmish a lot more fun, if albeit more chaotic.
Now some of the more neutral areas. Price hikes, and SEC's. I find the price hikes for this build to be both a good and bad thing. While I am aggravated that my SMG which somehow seems useless at the moment in this build is now fifty thousand plus ISK, I find it to be balancing, and rewarding all at the same time. While I have not too much to complain I can be sure that a lot of players who are operators of vehicles or players whom rely say too much on proto gear are going absolutly batty (in a bad way) over the price hikes. I find it to be a good thing. It makes the sense of risk & reward feel that much more potent and apparent. It also helps to ensure that all forms of gear for any length of Dust514's life span will be not only useful, but absolult necessary. BPO's if kept regulated and subdued will be meaningful, and both militia and standard tech leveled equipment will become necessities if not detriment to all players good or bad. It may also prove that fostering of corporations or EVE Online relationships will become more meaningful too if done correctly. All-in-all this could be one the best things to happen to Dust514 in this build thus far -- pending patches, and updates. Server seperations though. I enjoy the new SEC seperation, but I find having to scroll down through what must be thirty servers to be a hassle. I feel we now need more then ever more filter options then just mercenary, and corporation battles. Also I must admit I am NOT in favor in single servers. Once a server is full it is full. Which is a bit annoying. Both because, of the que and because, I find having so many servers at the moment with no way to filter any of it to be detrimental, and a turn-off.
What I am unsure of though is the hit detection. Maybe I am rusty not having played Dust514 in a full week or so, but the hit detection seems off, or did CCP nerf some weapons? Even as a scout (granted low armor on my end) I found myself dying more frequently, but I found that the SMG seemed gimped?.. If I was standing directly ontop of you it felt like I was not hitting my openent at all. I'm just unsure. I do not want to start calling foul, or cry wolf, but it was annoying. I am hoping it was just the aggravating hit detection coupled with server stress lag from the new build. Another after thought I have been mulling over is the deadzone on the dualshock3 controller. Was it modified, or tweeked? It feels larger then in the last build, and I saw nothing stating such in the patch notes. Granted I could have missed it. The deadzone feels larger though, and has anyone noticed "motion blur" in this build? Again maybe it's just me. I have more to test before apointing my thoughts properly to the right forum sections.
Overall I find the new build acceptable, but given the in-game character animations and if I am correct tweeks? I feel that while the aesthetical, and cosmetic changes to be a move foward (especially to both HUD and UI); that (some) in-game mechanic changes are not a move foward or for the best of Dust514 and that of course is my opinion.
Amendment:
AV (Anti-vehicle) grenades. Is anyone else aware that it states they now only do a hundred and forty (140.0) damage? Is that an error on CCP's part, or a change done on purpose in reliance with the new seek & attach feature they added to AV grenades? Disturbing to say the least.
Edit:
I hope by the weekend that the server stress will dissapate, and I also hope to refine my opinions with more play time. |

Hm. I have never played or tested the logistics suit, but if that is true in which they have a built-in "hacker" amplifier like the modules available for purchase I would not be angry to see that be true. Infact I feel it would very well help to promote the logistics, and those whom play as one. So long as it was not some twenty-five percent advantage. A build ten percent would not be bad (which I would hope would "not" stack against the others for a penalty.) |

Overall im liking it
The Neocom - Same as always with a few additions, still a bit sluggish
Instant battle - It does work but dont back out straight away, for me i have done that and then it freezes and i cant do anything so i have to restart. You will be put into games which have already started
Battle finder - So many maps and servers now along with lobbies for match making, i have yet to test it out but im unsure if it works by SP or by gear but if its the latter then a high SP guy can make a milita/beginner fit and dominate brand new guys. TBH we need the wipe so we can see how it works
Skills - We have more skills for the weapons, mainly just for reload/ammo capacity/optimal range and CPU reducing
Marketplace - Everything is so expensive, full proto assault suit now runs me close to 300k and it only used to be 70k before, with the new prices ppl will not be running around in frull proto anymore and may just stop at advanced or even T2 and save SP for other things, overall a few things added by overall nothing really changed. MAG themed dropsuits have been added before i forget, Valor is scout, SEVER is logistics and Raven is assault
Settings - Push to Talk (PTT) is an option so you can turn it off, also you can tighten the deadzone i think and turn off auto aim, tbh auto aim needs to be removed
Onto the chat boxes and grouping
We have Notifications/Local/corp/team and create a 4man group, now when you bring it up it will tell you if you have PTT enabled or not, also you will have the voice bubble in the middle on the left hand edge. You can enable voice on all tabs by clicking on your name and selecting 'activate voice' this really bugged me last night because i thought no one had comms in matches when actually it was me not realising i changed it or the game did, could be a handy feature but not sure if it requires the UVT at all (i will ignore the UVT argument because we have another thread for that)
Notifications are used for when you get a squad invite, also i bet they will be used for when you get a corp invite or maybe when the leadership sends out a message to everyone like a bulletin board or i hope so. The squad invite themselves seem to take a while and be a bit long route so to speak but you can get 4 ppl in and comms do work quite well, problem is last night the 3ppl in the group could join a game but it left me in the CQ everytime even after i had left and rejoined and after that i didnt try it again, i will try it again sometime but i hope its more of a patch hicup |

Gameplay + features
More revamping in general and it does seem better for it overall
The speed has been turned up but atm it felt like hit detection was still off a fair bit, had the odd scout still be invincible and lag and frame rate drops frequently appear, not as bad and pre E3 build but not as stable as the E3 build but atm i do think that it maybe down to the patch and that it does need tweeking and stabalising.
HUD has been tweeked, enemys have orange bars now, stats show up when shooting ppl and vise versa saying what suits they have and what ther shield and armor are, shield and armor are no longer precentages they are the actual figures (i prefered percentages tbh) we have grenade indicators, hacking now has a pad and takes much longer than before, seems that logi can now see ppl when they are down yet to be revived tho even tho i hit square but it has no indication if it works
Tanks and suits are sharper and come in varying styles, my surya now is white which is nice. Also i noticed the big turrets are still easy to destroy 3 hits from my blaster but the clone bay/supply depots have been made alot stronger, shield goes quickly but trying to kill the armor takes some time and its not worth it tbh, just hack it
Dropships - Damn hard to fly again, change it back to E3 build tbh
Maps are great and have changed alot, the pre E3 build map has changed so much and been expanded quite a bit with more of everything in general, the skirmish map which seems to vary from 3 to 5 points is very big but looks the part and we also have the biomass map which has changed a bit, also its a temperate planet so we have a bit of green. Overall really big, alot more sharper, more routes to take in general
Spawning - In Ambush still broke, i spawned yday in 1 match at least 5 times in front of 5 enemies meaning i was ****** from the get go, in skirmish not sure how it is because you can spawn at home base but expect a run or at a point if you have capped them, i noticed tho at spawning at C on the pre E3 build map you still spawn in the cupboard. It still needs work it seems. Spawn time at the start of the game is 10sec but then it seems to change to 3secs which really does get ppl back in the battle quite quickly
Gamemodes - Skirmish has a new mode, both sides have an MCC and all the points/clone bays/supply depots and turrets are neutral except for home base, basically catch as many points and hold them for aslong as possible so you can destroy the enemy MCC, the number of points vary between 3-5 i saw
Weapon changes - RE are fixed, the Creodon Breach has dropped a full 10pts of DPS and the Duvolle now seem to cause more DPS than the breach at a faster ROF, so now the Breach is slow and weak it seems which makes it pointless, you either have low and fast ROF to help increase its damage or slow ROF and high DPS, will have to see how it plays out
KB+M havnt tested and prob wont, reports say its ****
After matches it seems i get paid more, also i recieve less SP no longer do i seem to get 200k+ SP, the salvage is a nice idea collect enough of it and you can fit up free loadouts. Would be nice if i could sell stuff back to the markeplace to raise some ISK for stuff i dont use
TBH all i can think off atm, overall i like it but i hope that a few bugs are down to the patch and servers which hopefully can be tweeked so its more stable come the weekend |

empty servers and a huge waiting time, meh why am i lohgging in remind me CCP ? to test not wait around ?
shiney stuff is cool to many servers all mixed up together = bad outlay/structuring waiting time extended for matches and that stupid 12 man match count sucks like a toothless vampire.
will i log in more often, to be frank and honest i very much doubt it. 4,000 servers, get real CCP sorry if it hurts this would make me log in a lot less. i want to shoot shizzle, not stand around trawling servers to find a match in play.
when i say in play i mean people shooting stuff, not standing in the war room doing the war room shuffle, or some cheesey line dance for 20 mins. to many servers not enough people , you failed sorry to say.
CSM any of you guys here ? whats your thoughts on this pay to chat rubbish ?
Merc quarters :
your sofa is not to scale, my char looks like a giant with an arze so big it would never fit in the sofa. am unable to take a seat on said sofa ? why ccp. i want to rest my legs.
MQ looks like it has been made smaller, its to small, it needs more vastness more openness. not an enclosed closet type feeling. minmatar ( i think) MQ has some weird heat shimmer GFX glitch looks damn ugly. i would screen capture it but there is no choice for that in dust so you just have to take my word on that.
this is before i have even had a chance to play a game. that waiting list, yeah i left the battle shizzle that wait i aint doing it. game said in play ( thats a lie and needs rewording) game was NOT in PLAY game was in waiting list mode, if a server is waiting for players it should state that, not say game is in PLAY !!! |

Looks nice. Very nice. Like the new merc quarters and changes to the kiosks in the lobby of the battle barge. No more candy orange yellow glow there which is a very good thing. Everything looks a lot more like I expected the EVE Universe to look. The suits look better in the war barge lobby, the heavy definitely looks metal. Still get that weird twitch when parts of the character model will shift for no apparent reason. But CCP have accomplished what they needed to with the graphics, for this build.
I believe in your graphics. If they keep up the good work in that department, graphics will be golden on full release.
Fights feel more tactical (i.e. sluggish) until one of those wascally wabbits in a scout suit pops up outta nowhereGǪ But at the same time shooting (infantry, assault rifle) feels more connected.
Aiming with AR feels better. As in, where I aim, there I shoot. I might still suck at aiming, but I don't feel like I am fighting to aim as much or stirring cold molasses with a stick. Seems like Duvolle (sp?) is the new CreodronGǪ But I did get a chance to try out some of the leftover rifles I had from last build and looks like some that are better when scoping in, or at range, not just hip fire, will be more useful.
Finding a battle became increasingly difficult. Instant battle stopped working and "honor battle" battle finder was hit or miss. After two of those battles realized that there were no enforced restrictions and decided, "Heck, Ima use whatever, just like everyone else."
I am glad that there are work arounds to finding battles, sure, I might go so far as to tie a turnip to my head, but that was really the most frustrating thing. Just not being able to get into a battle.
And even with the variety of maps, the battle modes so far have all been less interesting or plausible than the 2 stage skirmish mode from 2 builds ago. |

Agree with some of this.
Aim assist is off by default, I tried it out and after a few months of having it on, it felt odd to have it off. Took 4-5 games for my brain to start figuring out what the issue was.
I love the way everything looks now, from the warroom to your own quarters to the planets and maps.
Hit detection may not be off as much as our shots are off, also a scout suit and a player that can strafe and jump around is nearly impossible to hit and feels like I'm sluggish when firing against them, but play any other suit and its fine IMO.
Played 4 hours last night, not one crash. But I got on later and had the latest build, heard there was issues with the earlier builds.
If you can't hear anyone speak, you might have the settings turned off, or in the wrong chat channel.
Don't forget this is phase 1 of 3 this week for this update. Give it time and oh yeah.. ITS BETA!!

Haven't played for a week or two and tried it today. It really felt like a different game, dropships being one of my main vehicles before was quite something now, not to mention the cost, time will tell how they develop from here.
Shooting felt different too, some shots that looked like they hit didn't register any damage at all but who knows..
The graphical update was quite impressive, felt more high tech now which is a good thing.
I felt a little bleh playing my usual adv armour proto forge character with not many vehicles around but then I tried a militia scout sniper suit with charge rifle and weeeeh, I know what to respec after wipe now :) . |

This was my taste of the new build last night as well.
I got half a game then crashed back to quarters. Joined up in a Battle Finder game and after 5 minutes of waiting to fill[people kept quiting], l gave up. Liked the way it was before, just threw you in or the was a countdown of under 2 minutes for the battle to start.
As to the time l did get in that first battle, it looked good...but the gameplay felt stiff.
Will do some more testing tonight. |

Some of the biggest problems I have noticed recently within this new build is not so much having to do with the update, or the changes, but the "players" themselves. Sounds funny right? It is not I assure you. Granted I feel some of the worst problems post update happen to be some of simplest and dumbest choices made by CCP involving the servers themselves, and lack of proper filters, and security filters that actually function. The players I find though are degenerating back into their most basic of bad habbits. I've noticed for one reason or another that people have almost become afraid of confrontation, and seem to stay back at the fringers of the sides of the map, towers, or back of the map and snipe while they camp.
I know people are still complaining about the scout, and I can understand the frustration. However it is misplaced blame. Which leads me to some of the other problems at hand beyond the simple player problem, and bad habits, or even the server mess. Some of these problems happen to include server side stress, and lag. We all know the update a rather hefty update that was over two gigs in data. This can cause stress and lag. More so then what was already aparent. Hopefully by weekend this will lessen. However there are few more "mechanical" issues. Such as the deadzone, and motion blur which are adding to the misplaced anger. The scout granted is slim, small, and already rather annoying. I feel though paired with these underlying issues at the moment a number of people are misplacing their anger.
As for all of that? I think some people at the moment are over reacting. We need to really find what are the problems. Such as the AV (Anti-vehicle) grenades -- were they suppose to be nerfed down to a wimpy one hundred and forty (140.0) damage? Simply because, CCP gave added a limited radius "search & attach" features. I do not believe the AV grenade was suppose to be nerfed in damage. The issue of the new flux grenades not functioning properly. I have heard a small number of people actually mention both here on the forums and in-game not working, and simply becoming what someone said as another small rock within' the terrain. Vexing to be sure.
Among other known issues are those that were stated would be "rare" occurances, and unfortunetly as seen last night a rather large number of players alone from the community were experiencing such issues with installing the update, logging onto the game servers, and having stability issues with crashes in-game, and disconnects in-game. Those are some serious issues that will not only hinder people from playing this game, but turn players away from playing the game.
Now do not get me wrong. I still have a lot of postive notes to add to this game as I have already in a few previous posting. Nonetheless these some of the more overlooked issues that are vexing the people, and other issues which few seem unwanting to bring to attention. Atleast in a civil, and ration tone of voice.
Mulling over my thoughts though I think something that while is being adressed and should mention is the confusing UVT (Universal Voice Transmitter) which allows (I believe) players (Dusters) down here in Dus514 talk and communicate live with players (Capsuleers) from up above in EVE Online to talk with one another. However CCP is charging players in a rather odd way. Instead of finding a feesible small payment option players have to "purchase" augments using AUR in the forms of every day to every week. Which is harmful and costly to themselves and the players here in Dust514 and even mroe so for those players whom play Dust514 and are already paying for an EVE Online account. Granted that it was revealed that part of every EVE Online Capsuleers subscription was to pay for the third party company whom CCP contracted to handle the voice chat options. However the problem here is the lack of attention to those players divided and playing both EVE games and those of us here playing Dust514 and no proper communication. This is something which should have been talked about. CCP should have talked with us, and allowed us time to go over this all. As this is something I find will turn players off from playing, and walks the fine line of pay-to-win play which CCP promised would not be the case. While I feel that this is not the case, I find I can understand why and how players would think so. Iron Wolf Saber, has spoken up about this in a civil tone and thread already, but I felt it needed more proper adressing. Atleast from a slightly different stand point.
My personal thoughts? I can understand the need to charge a small preemium to use the third party contracted chat used by CCP. However they need to consider not charging using the current set-up for this preemium VC (Voice Chat) option, and find a way to create a minamilistic charge that fits the bill and does not use AUR. They also need to consider not charging players whom play both EVE Online -- whom are already paying that chat bill -- and also playing down here in Dust514. Because, that is going to be really harmful, and turn off players from coming to this game, and staying.
Anyway these are some of my concerns regarding the current update, and some of the most crucial and aparent problems needing to be adressed. Hoping to find other problems as I play, but they need to be real problems. Not something made up, or exaggerated. |

I have noticed your problems with players sitting back more. The reason I believe is you can't afford to die. My suit is assault type 2 with a duvolle AR, nanohives and armour repairer. The rest of that suit is militia which in total cost's me around 80k a time. I played a ambush match (not by choice) went 16-3 and had only made enough ISK to cover me for my losses and one more suit. The next game it was either sit back and snipe with a cheap scout suit or risk losing money. |
