At least you would be agreeing with the 168 tank-crews who died at the hands of Feldwebel Kurt Knispel - the top scoring ace for the German 12th Panzer Division/503rd Heavy Panzer Battalion.
Yanno - because tanks actually do kill people and generally survive a pretty hefty amount of fire.
While we're on the subject, another German ace commander, Michael Whittmann, was killed - not directly by enemy fire - but by his own tank's ammunition exploding inside the tank itself.
Considering the time and effort one has to put into HAVs, as well as the associated skills to fit weaponry/armor/shields/etc, it's entirely plausible that they should be vastly superior fighting weapons. Honestly, look in the mirror and ask yourself, does my Gauss Rifle honestly have the capabilities to inflict physical harm on a TANK made of science fiction materials that I will never see in my lifetime?
I can't wait to see the "Orbital Strikes are OP" threads on August 21st. Seriously, if you think slow moving war machines are over-powered just wait until giant light posts are being fired down from the heavens because Squad Alpha of the enemy team were granted one for being objective-based.
Really. I'm not entirely sure how this is even an issue - what did you EXPECT to occur from a knife fight with a 60-ton weapon of (major) destruction? |

when you can put up 80-100 kills with little effort or when your teams getting redlined and you can just roll around the map doing whatever you want I beg to differ. When you can spec into godly tanks faster than you can get proto dropsuits I beg to differ. When your SP gain almost doubles when in a tank vs on the ground i beg to differ. |

Oh this is gorgeous - really? This is your comeback? You're stating that First Person Shooter games are entirely encompassing allowing the new player to win, and that players who have invested time, effort and finance into the game are not allowed to get back what they invested.
What happened to the days when Challenge was considered something to aim for? What happened to learning, adapting and overcoming opposition to be rewarded with a greater high and sense of achievement? Sounds more like you've just gotten too spoiled on the spoon-fed servings that the FPS genre has been watered down to, where everything is perfectly balanced so that no-one has a real advantage over another player - and thusly will never truly be considered what Dust 514 mercs really are:

+1 After being killed to many times by tanks, i trained for proto swarm launchers and started to hunt them. I think tanks are pretty balanced atm. |

Thank you. You're probably one of the ones I have to actually put some effort into killing because you're not running up on the tank shooting at it with an Assault Rifle and throwing Militia Locus Grenades at it.

I've spent thousands of hours across multiple MMORPG's I've held leader board positions at the age of 12 in PVP's. Don't tell me I'm not accustomed to it. I know how your ****** MMORPG's work. I know the ins and the outs. I know why you like to play them. I understand. but it all became clear to me when I started playing FPS'. YOU'RE WRONG. The games you like to play take nothing other than better equipment to win, which guess what, thanks to micro transactions in EVE/dust means NOTHING. I was always the poor player, whatever I had I made and worked for, while all you could just skip to the best gear because you had "points" or in this case "AUR". Your game means nothing to win at. you win what? spending more time or money on the game then being able to beat down on people who haven't spent as much? why would I want to play something like that? I want to play a game where skill determines all. not how long or how much money you're willing to put into the game.

Tanks aren't OP. Marauders are OP. someone justify wtf you need a 1.5damage mod on a super tank? What exactly are you needing that firepower for except other tanks? Only thing in the game with that kinda damage... Or ehp.... It's mostly going to depend on map design. |

As far as running - try using Cover instead of traversing an open field. As far as free-to-pay models, don't know what to tell you mate. Free game, pay for additional bonuses, suppose you should just leave and find another game as you said you were going to do instead of arguing your point senselessly on an internet forum thread that will inevitably be overlooked or removed for an equally stupid argument.

I don't have a problem with all these vehicles as I have my assault or AV fit to chose from. I do however realise why many do. This is supposed, we were told, to be a MMOFPS.... well it's neither. Most games I play now are just plain no fun and boring. I know CCP want to cater for eve players too, which is also rather silly as obviously 90% of them have no clue what an FPS is. I just hope it gets better next build because I do want this game to work, but it should be obvious by the numbers playing as it stands, it is not..... I'm sure when grouping comes things will get much better, and I have fingers crossed. This game should absolutely NOT be all about vehicles, which it is now. I'm ok to give CCP a chance, but I'm not holding my breath. |

I decide to try and gank a battleship in null sec. He kills me with ease. That is how I see your argument.
Now let's try something different. I am a starter ship in a corp flying in null sec. I don't expect to kill anything larger than me or more time invested players, but I can still be useful. My corp uses blasters, a short range weapon and the enemy is very far out. I can be used to fly out to where the enemy is located and, without attempting to kill anything, and have my whole fleet warp to me, allowing them to come into range of the enemy. That is called being useful.
Not everything in this game is killing related. This can be put into Dust terms if it had to. |

Perfect Dark, Battlefield 2, Call of Duty (majority of them), Battlefield 3, Medal of Honor, Combat Arms, etc. etc. etc. I've played all of them. Know something interesting is that the only one to have vehicles in that entire line up is the Battlefield series.
Some Dust 514 developers are formerly Dice developers.
Seriously - these vehicles are operating no better than the tanks in the Battlefield series, and the argument here is that they aren't "over-powered" they are just performing as intended and players are reaping the rewards of ill-prepared adversaries who refuse/cannot change to an Anti-Vehicular set up which can counter them. They are getting higher skill point ratios because they are not often defeated when only a handful of the entire player-base is using AV weaponry - the rest are still blatantly attempting to go head-to-head with a tank using an Assault Rifle or Militia gear. |

I know how your ****** MMORPG's work. I know the ins and the outs. I know why you like to play them. I understand. but it all became clear to me when I started playing FPS'. YOU'RE WRONG. The games you like to play take nothing other than better equipment to win, which guess what, thanks to micro transactions in EVE/dust means NOTHING. I was always the poor player, whatever I had I made and worked for, while all you could just skip to the best gear because you had "points" or in this case "AUR". Your game means nothing to win at. you win what? spending more time or money on the game then being able to beat down on people who haven't spent as much? why would I want to play something like that? I want to play a game where skill determines all. not how long or how much money you're willing to put into the game. Let's say I start a new account in eve and fly around in my starter ship. I decide to try and gank a battleship in null sec. He kills me with ease. That is how I see your argument. Now let's try something different. I am a starter ship in a corp flying in null sec. I don't expect to kill anything larger than me or more time invested players, but I can still be useful. My corp uses blasters, a short range weapon and the enemy is very far out. I can be used to fly out to where the enemy is located and, without attempting to kill anything, and have my whole fleet warp to me, allowing them to come into range of the enemy. That is called being useful. Not everything in this game is killing related. This can be put into Dust terms if it had to.
