Since we are bound to see a flood of Eve players coming into the beta that have a PS3, has CCP made any changes to the NDA restriction? Let's remember that this will be a lot of people for CCP to manage should any of them decide to post anything about the beta to the public.
I just want this to be made clear to avoid any problems. |

Pretty valid point. Between the Merc Pack for PS3-only players, and opening it up indefinitely for ALL EVE subscribers, this beta becomes, for all intents and purposes, an open beta. There's not much point in an NDA once the switch is flipped for EVE subscribers. |

@Geirskoegul
That is exactly my point and that needs to be addressed. It would be very disheartening to see new players who never heard of Eve Online, never been reminded of the NDA involved, and then see then post videos on YouTube only to be permabanned because they didn't know what they were getting into.
So the question still remains:
Does the NDA restriction still stand, CCP?
EDIT:
Let's also not forget the fact that not all beta users visit the forums. |

I know that already. What I'm trying to figure out is whether the NDA has been relaxed or lifted somewhat because of the flood of new players coming in. Also, not all of the 400,000 Eve subscribers have a PS3. So you can expect to see probably more than half of those codes being handed over to non-Eve players who may be more than willing post things about the beta to the public (be it intentionally or out of ignorance of the NDA). |

I was replying to the post above mine, should have quoted, apologies. If the patch does everything that the article says, and does it well, then there shouldn't be that big of an issue of things get leaked. I for one cannot wait to play a different map. |

PS: There is also the fact that the new build (the precursor build coming on the 21st) will be directly linked and active on the Eve Online Singularity test server which is accessed by all of the 400,000 players who might take the time to get in on the beta action.
That said, is the NDA relaxed now or will it be relaxed on the 21st? Or will it be permanent until fully complete and launched? |

Why on earth do you think there will be a flood of EvE players? The disdain they've already shown the PS3 community sums it up. EvElitist idiots that is. I can't see a flood of anyone showing up. At release people will be playing borderlands and black ops on ps3. I would of joined the pessimists club, but I doubt they'd let me. |

People would still have to accept the NDA to take part in the Beta and the NDA's still in place at this time. |

Upon further reflection. The next build will be on SISI. According to the article in the sticky, ppl will be able to chat/mail between the games. Might as well void the NDA since DUSTers can chat with non-NDAed EVErs. |

Thank you for answering the first question.
Now, what about the Aug 21st build? Will the NDA still be in effect at that time or will it be relaxed due to the direct link to the Singularity Test server? |

I'm not flaming. I'm asking why you think a group of people who's attitude in general roughly "LoL ps3. Shoulda been on PC. Ps3 players are retards who can't read." are going to play Dust? It's a serious question. Jeez everyone thinks I just burn people. I'm interested in if there is any info on EvE forums about how many people have ps3's. That's be something you could quantify. Edit @Destrider Yeah, the ps3 FPS elitist are just as bad, but most have already left. This is simply about the number of EvE players with PS3 and an interest in playing Dust. |

The NDA would be in effect until an announcement is made saying that it's being lifted. I don't have a date to offer for when that may be, though. |

For the record the singularity server is the EvE test server which while I do not know for certain but I would expect it to be covered under NDA since that is where they test unreleased build of EvE. Tranquility is the live EvE server. |

I think NDA may still be in place after next build unless they're satisfied that people can start press blogging about it. Basically if you dont want to show it entirely to the world yet you dont want it out of NDA, like the current build is definetly NDA worthy as it will do nothing but generate bad press. |

Many games have public test servers. Now with that said, on Aug 21, DUST will be joined to the PUBLIC EVE test server which has no NDA - here's a link to Singularity's forums: https://forums.eveonline.com/default.aspx?g=topics&f=271
But that doesn't mean the test server might see an NDA added to it. Nor does it mean the NDA for DUST is lifted since they are 2 separate games, just "linked" together for some functionality. For the "Matrix Online" beta testers, we were still under an NDA for 3 months AFTER (yes 3 MONTHS AFTER) the game officially released. Not saying CCP will do that, but it is possible. |

Thank I was not sure since I have never done anything on that server. However I will go on to say that the population of that server is likely very limited since most people would rather play the actual game than a possibly broken future build. |

The restricted ones are Chaos and Duality (which are either dev/BH-only, or are normally dev/BH-only but allow others during special events).
If it's on SISI, it's as good as public, as anyone with an active account at the time of the last database mirror can access it (that is, you were active when they mirrored, but have since let your subscription expire, you can STILL access it). |

I imagine that they will perform another reset on Sisi shortly before the 21st.

You can't really see anything on sisi.
All the sensitive information would be related to how the game feels and plays, not the production price of certain weapons of vehicles, which really can't change much anyway. |

2) They're opening the Dust beta itself, on PS3, to anyone with an active EVE subscription (read: 100% of the people that are able to access SISI, if they have a PS3 or buy one)
That's the reason for what we're saying. There's no good reason to keep the NDA once that goes live, because it effectively becomes an open beta at that point. All you need is to either A) play EVE and own a PS3, or B) own a PS3 and buy the merc pack, and you have full access.
For all intents and purposes, it becomes an open beta at that point, and there's no logic to an NDA on an open beta, because anyone that wants to see can gain access. |
