Why do you assume I'm an eve player by my statement? And just because this doesn't work like the game you have apparentley are god in, doesn't mean its broken. Yes this is beta, there are things that need fixed, I won't deny that. When its stated that this is a finished product and things are still the same, then make your complaint. But don't assume and state that people are noobs or whatever just because you feel entitled because of your experience in a different game. |

i've played with you many times in game, you get unimpressive kills for a sniper which is the most useless thing to be in a FPS. why would anyone want a team that is a guy short? a snipers role is to kill, it isn't to take objectives, it's to camp and this is how they poorly designed snipers to be. it makes me sad
in MAG you could go toe to toe with the best AR players, but here.... lol i'll wait till the full version comes |

fact: eve players have no major fps experience fact: the MAG community has played against each other so much, weeding out the bad players from the good, making them quit the game, leaving nothing but the best players doing clan battles for years. MAG players have great experience to offer DUST devs. Some of these MAG vets that are in the beta have astronomically high skill and gun game
my plee to devs: if you are going to support all these vehicles... it will drive the FPS community away. i really hope there'll be a infantry mode - no vehicles allowed. similar to sabotage in MAG to allow the FPS players to shine. Also competition, allowing us to be social, being in clans/corps allowing us to battle whom ever and letting us schedule these battles, letting us have the tools to do this is the longevity the game needs to be extremely successful. this is what MAG did not have - clan support
again, as for sniping make it easy and just get rid of it lol it's a mess right now |

You're right, I don't get many kills. I never stated I was a pro sniper. But I won't sit back and let someone say I'm a useless player. If I have to prove myself as an elite player to play with you, that's your problem. I'm here to enjoy playing and finding bugs, glitches and balance issues. And you can't sit there and make a blanket statement that all EVE players have no other experience in gaming. I do play EVE, but I am NOT ignorant if other types of games.
I'm not a military expert by any means. But I do know that a sniper is not a front line combatant. If you think that's how it should be played, by all means, play that game. Do not come on here and say that sniping is broken and a joke based on your experience in a specific game. From my limited FPS game play, sniping here falls in line with them. Yes there is a distance issue due to the drawing/rendering issues, but from what I understand, that will probably be addressed in the next build. As far as clip and damage, seems pretty average to me. I have a proto rifle and effienciency at 2 and can do pretty decent damage and can OHK many times. Well geared heavies do take the damage, but that's their intended role.
I do believe that the GM"s and Dev's do a pretty good job on giving feedback. Do we want more? Sure, we all do. I would like a taste of what's coming in the next build, hint hint . Pretty please!! But all in all, everything seems to be going well for early on in the beta process. For those that say that we are doing CCP's job, their is only so much internal testing can do. The more players testing, the more data they can gather. Why don't we have everything that the game will have to offer? How much information would be gained on the militia gear if we all had proto gear available? Why do we have to test it over so much time before we get more? I would rather have too much data pulled than not enough, then tons of complaints at launch as to why everything is so unbalanced.
But to those that think things aren't working right, please, make a constructive post, rather than saying "it's broken and will DUST will fail" or "it doesn't work like game A or game B and it's all a joke". State what you see wrong and what could be done to make it better, constructively.
Are there bug and glitches? Yes. Are there balance issues? Yes. Will everything be to everyones satisfaction? No. There is no game, or ever will be a game, that suits everyones desires. Even games that have done well, still have people that don't think things are balanced or have particular issues they don't like. We are all here on a volunteer basis. Help, don't slam CCP or other players because you see fit.
Ok, I'm done with my rant for now. Just waiting now till Thursday when I can die some more. |

You all are not familiar with the issue of ... SPIES... are you? Limited detection of allies is actually a benefit on this front, and when EVE is connected to DUST.... THERE WILL BE SPIES.
Now.. what am I saying here? One spy can effectively rat out your entire team if he/she can see EVERY ally on the field at once, then relay the information to your opponent.
You want to snipe? your "ally" just told the enemy snipers you're sitting on a particular building. Suddenly you're hit by a "lucky snipe" or a "random grenade".
If you want to be penalized for playing Sniper, go ahead Spies will love you for suggesting all allies be shown. |

Surprised by the amount of hate this thread is getting.
-A vehicle only version of some modes wouldn't be a bad thing, as long as its in High Security space. Variety is good. -Hit detection does need to be fixed. -Some people have a bug that make aim assist way too high, but that will be fixed, CCP knows about it. I assume there will be an option to just turn it off also on release, it just seems like something they wouldn't forget. -I don't use sniper rifles, so I'm not commenting on your assessment of them. -Never encountered a crosshair glitch, but glitches should be fixed. -Gaps where you get stuck should be fixed as well. -There are comm glitches and other problems that need to be adressed. -Corps and alliances are definitely coming, I assume groups are as well. -Swap speed, grenade throwing, these things are slow. I prefer if they were just made faster instead of them milking us for more skill points so so the speed can become tolerable. -I want the clutter option, I should ALWAYS see the chevrons for allies. It is annoying shooting someone from range only to realize they are an ally. It doesn't make sense why such a system would be limited by such short range when people have communication systems that transcend the speed of light. -A respec would be useful for trying new things. The idea of giving up something to gain something else of equal value (+ penalty) isn't a bad idea to me. I read a comment saying that everyone would respec and become tank drivers, but I find that kind of silly; why would that be better than specializing to be a tank driver to begin with? -I'm pretty sure there is already a vehicle limit on the battlefield. -Neutral on friendly fire, but I think it will be added. -Never been squished through the map by a dropship, but that sounds like a problem. -I don't know if Dust 514 can handle 100vs100, though they did say they will maybe raise player cap past 48. -Diferent ammo types would be cool.

I agree on the friendly chevrons. I have been bombarded by a viper thinking I was an enemy. Especially if friendly fire does come into play. If those chevrons aren't there, I have a bad feeling there will be lots of team kills.
On the respec, I think there should be respecs available. EVE has the ability to remap their attributes once a year to change how fast certain skills are trained.
Different ammo would be cool. EMP ammo to help drop shields with little damage to armor, while explosive ammo to help with armor and little damage to shields. Coordinate with teammates and you could take down proto tanks a bit easier. Along with different ammo, have damage specific hardeners. |

I've play Eve, Mag and many other games I was one of the top Puzzle Quest players . Dust does not have snipers it has scouts, your job isn't to camp spawns its to be overwatch and cover nodes. The good scouts know this and are the ones that tend to one shot me when I'm covering or taking a node.
High scoring scouts and scouts that are team players are not the samething. Just like the pilots that just go for tank kills and watch as the other team holds 3 nodes sigh.
You can 1 shot most suits and the ones you can't are going to go for cover as soon as you ping them. I don't know what else you would want from the scout suit and sniper rifles that are not already commented on by the devs that they going to be fix or added like spawns ect.

Very good point. Thank you for bringing that out. I will be getting a mic, soon hopefully, and this is how I do prefer to play, sit in a high point and oversee what is going on in the field, take out enemy's that I can that are hacking points. I did this type of playstyle in other games, even though I didn't have a mic, I could call out enemys sighted with call commands. Would love that ability here since many don't have mics. Not sure how that could be incorporated as it would take another button to bring up the menu for callouts.
I like the support class, piloting, sniping, resupplying, etc. I suck at assault. I'm average at best with AV. Just recently learned that the swarm launcher can be equipped on an assault suit. Guess I need to pay attention a bit better on weapon fits. But I always go back to the "sniping" role and trying to help the team as much as possible, therefore, low kills, plus my aim isn't all that great sometimes. Meds have a tendency to slow me down a bit. |

As for the "night-times is a MAG sniper god" discussion, I'm absolutely amazing at aerial combat in War for Cybertron, but I can't pilot a Hawk to save myself in Warhawk or Starhawk. Being good at a specific role in one game doesn't necessarily mean that same role will suit you in the next. |

Yeah I always play support so I love when people stick to their jobs and not just be all about the kills. Scouts have a lot of cool things going for them they are the hardest to spot, they are the fastest and one day they going to be able to use stealth mods. I've always found it odd to have snipers in games like MAG and Chromehounds to focus solely on kills and not help cover control points or scout out for the teams heavy hitters.
Last night I was calling for air support from our drop ships as a Logi and it was very cool when you see a drop ship come over the node to give fire support in theory a scout would be better at spotting vehicles then me. |

No, it's not a completely different game. At their core, both games are FPS with RPG elements in a military setting. They rely on team and squad tactics and need a dynamic group to complete their objectives. A good sniper from any game would still be a good sniper in this, since again at it's core the mechanics, tactics, and skill sets are the same. Their knowledge gained from that would be quite useful in developing and refining similar results.
E-famous is a good term and the fact that someone else knows your name because you were amazing at something mean you ARE famous by definition. An easy example is look at Youtube celebrities.
Also, I just liked that he said "Canadian too". |

Unless CCP decides to boost the flight speed on the Swarm missiles, then they will be totally ineffectual against fighters. Swarms are just slightly faster than drop ships at present and fighters, due to their role, will be necessarily faster. And when Fighters get afterburners or MWD (if they do add those), they will be capable of flying circles around the Swarms until they simply run out of range.

Reminds me alot of the mag forums, people using a loadout they like then going ape **** about it on the forums then complaining its useless which it isnt I found defending snipers denying a whole section of the map from advancing. The only way to get past it were vehicles but no one could cap an objective since they would instantly get shot before the hack was done. |
