I was in game and noticing some .... ummm... interesting names LOL. Some were good and some make me want to just find the kid and smack him upside the head for the name being so stupid LOL :P. But anyway, I was curious on how you got your name. If you feel like telling please do so, I will go first.


Mine is my actual nickname in real life and when I play games online I use TabbieKat if I can grab it before it is taken.

When I was creating my character I didn't know the name you entered at the end would be your display name; I figured it would use your PSN handle and that the name would only show up in your profile for RP purposes or something. I'm new to the EVE universe and seeing all these names like "Amarr" and "Caldari" I just tried to come up with something that seemed to fit. It feels a little silly using this name, but after the mil SP bonus(which is an even bigger deal to me because I've just started playing) I'm reluctant to start a new character just for the name.

Well my name is from one of the best characters in the Metal Gear Solid Series besides everyones Fav Solid Snake.Solidus Snake was the 3rd and best brother(in my opinion) of the Series wielding a P90 and 2 swords and of course the nice eye patch .
And i put the Z instead of and S just to give it my own little flavor , style , swag however you want to put it

The Devs had stated that the NPC corp that a player is sorted to is based on their region, so mine would be the Amarrian Imperial Guard.

In the universe of EVE, the Amarr enslaved (and still enslave a large portion of) the Minmatar. Therefore, why not a Minmatar slave conditioned and engineered (not to mention hooked on Vitoc) to be a obediant weapon against the enemies of the Amarr? (takes off roleplayer wizard hat)

ps. 'Vitoc' is one of those things that shows just why the Amarr are one of the 'villainous' factions of EVE: its a virus like toxin that never leaves your system, and kills you in excruiating agony unless you get a hit of the antidote on a regular basis. every clone has the virus before deployment, just in case he ever got out of control - and gives a reason to complete the mission because that is the only time, win or lose, when he gets the antidote.

My PSN is CptKrby and I am a baseball fan who lives in Florida. Don't worry, I won't into the super long story for my PSN.

I figured that "CptKirby" would be a bit odd because of the thought I might get the title say "Private Cptkirby" or "Lt. CptKirby".

I wanted to keep "Kirby" as my last name so that part was easy. Since "Marlin" is a real first name and I am a Marlins fan (BTW their uniform looks like a ****** rainbow, I hate it), I thought it would fit.

Allow me to explain further.

I am BattleCry1791 on any game I play. I don't change it up. When I joined the PS3/PSN back in the day, there was nothing I wanted to use that didn't already exist.

For example, I used to go by Mackey or sometimes Stonewall back when PS2 IDs were game specific.

PSN is overloaded with Screen names. You can't make ANYTHING without a number or a symbol. Like XxBattleCryxX or II_BattleCry_II etc etc because all the simple forms of names on the PSN are taken.

Oh you have no idea. Lately I've been playing a lot of Mass Effect 3 on PSN and I was marveling how many names contain numbers, etc...eventually, this issue will come to head.

For the record I think I got my PS3 two or so years after they came out, the newer users logging on have it exponentially worse.

I've used MidnightWyvern ever since making an account on an Ace Combat series forum after playing Ace Combat 04. The name is a reference to the black paint scheme you can unlock for the game's secret aircraft, the X-02 Wyvern. When it came time to make a name for my Dust character, I knew they were going to put us in the same name database as EVE, so I'd need a new name, and I went with Mobius. I pretty much still have my PS2 just so I can play those games.

LOL you too well I have been using my name ever since i started playing MMO's with EQ1 back in 2000. For some reason someone had my name... weird, but Skoren has been my name for a long time now.

Same here, I guess somebody in EVE (or Dust) took leukoplast, so I used an old forum trick to give the appearance of the same name, as I replaced the lowercase L with an uppercase i.

Depending on the font type used, it works pretty well with few occurrences of it showing up as an obvious uppercase i. (hovering over my name and looking at the link here in the forums shows the obvious uppercase i)

Ocelot was better than Solidus,and probably the best character in the whole series.

I use the same Dust ID and my PSN name.I got it from my best friends mother who calls me her third son,just switched up the spelling to make it look cooler.

I used a name generator set for Japanese-sounding names for inspiration went from there. Japan is one of the influences for the Caldari, plus I'm learning the language so it seems fitting.

I didn't want it to sound too much like an actual Japanese name though.

I love to make characters for every game I play and actually like, I mostly tend to draw them, make a bio or profile and share it with my friends, Enkidu Camuel is a female merc and I still need work on her details, but that name came out of from my RP sessions with my friends, I'm pretty good making names out of nowhere... so after reading several stories about EVE and some of the names of the characters, I was looking for something original and interesting, that's how Enkidu Camuel was born (for those who knows some lore, Enkidu is the name of the companion of Gilgamesh, it also sounds good as a female name... even that Enkidu was a guy XD)
