Yep I've said it, in this build, vehicles are overpowered. Why? because their meant to be. What do you think is going to happen when you have an relatively open battlefield, devoid of many enclosed spaces, and no interior combat? this goes for the Camping drop ships, the Tank spawning, etc. And I think anyone would easily see that the point mainly of this build is to test the vehicles. why else would they make tanks and drop ships militia, Remove any narrow areas restricting vehicle manoeuvrability, and any interior combat? Do you really think the devs didn't think this through? I just want to be clear, I'm not complaining about the overpowered vehicles, after all, that's why there heavy armour. I'm not hear complaining about drop ships camping on roofs, (though I do think they should take more damage when the crash straight into me going 100 miles an hour, one thinks that would just be basic physics!) or one hit kills from the Cannons (seriously most foolish complaint ever. What did you think that thing was shooting, a water gun?). Will I curse when I get killed by a tank I didn't see, yes. Will I mean it, no. Do I sometimes say the games stupid when I get killed by a forge gun, yes. Am I right, no. There's a reason for everything in the game, open areas are for vehicular combat, heavies are for Anti vehicle combat and static defence, ergo they are meant to be heavily armoured and if anything the lower tiers need a boost. In closing, I'd like to say, just have a little faith in the devs, they, as it's been said before, know what there doing, and just take a look at the map, I think you'll see as I do, that it was probably made solely for the purpose for vehicle testing, and remember the basics of warfare, for every defence, there's an offensive, and for ever offensive there's a counter attack. Now I'd ask you all to play nice if your planning on posting responses, but I guess there's little chance of that. |

just so u know the milita vheicles are not goin to go away and there not over powered there just under priced when the game is fully relesed and the market is connected to eve thel find there true price and a epic tank can also be a epic loss after all when u die as a solder its 25k isk when a tank dies it can be up to 300k so when its fully relesed u can exspect it to be the same with power if any think forge guns will probly be nered by about 10% cause no tank should have to run from 1 person with a gun epechily when i have max sheld skills and max turret skills and tank skills |

Militia vehicles (any type) are by no means overpowered, they can be taken down fairly easily with anti-vech grenades and swarm launcher or just blast them with forge gun and see what happens.
It's the top tier tanks with impenetrable super shields that are. Luckily they are still pretty rare. |

Militia vehicles may not be going away entirely, but they're going to have more of a cost involved by release.

They'll Probably go if people complain about them enough, and to be honest, it doesn't make sense for them to be there, I mean how many militias have tanks?

I typically get 10-15 kills each match with my tank. I die only when the other team actually works together and EACH TANK cost 300k (could be more but I do try to keep the cost somewhat reasonable.
I earn less than 1 tank cost per match and I haven't ever had a surplus of 10 tanks saved up due to my losses. I have almost a 4-1 k-d ratio.
I pay the price to use my tank and I'd say I am one of the better tank users in beta right now.
I do think the missile turrets are a bit overpowered with splash damage, as they barely have to aim to get a kill, I prefer my blaster as it takes more skill on my part and eats other vehicles for lunch.
My biggest enemy are group swarms and remote explosives. Although a highly skilled forge gunner hurts like hell.
I do think that the lock range of swarms is a bit too long, as they can currently sit on top of the damn CC and spam missles with no way of shooting them back. Either lock range needs nerfed or flight time of the swarms, damage is spot on.
If you hate my tank so much, make a suit with remote explosives, AV grenades and swarms/forge. You will kill me solo if you are in the right position. You die, you maybe lose 15k, I die, I lose 300k. |

I never said I hate tanks, in fact, I support them, as they make teamwork more of an imperative. I'd disagree with lowering the Swarm launchers range and speed though, they should make the loading time longer though. |

My super-upgraded awesome tank still gets dead from vipers spamming missiles from above (with zero way to effectively retaliate), or by people with upgraded (non militia) swarm launchers plus forge guns and grenades.
My tank costs 250k. I get one killed every 2-3 matches, and I'm by no means a poor driver. I have poured basically all my (5M) SP into the tank. I expect to be doing better than people who haven't so specialized, and I expect to be doing better than people who have a smaller investment in their hardware.
So, from the top again: 1) People kill my tank every 2-3 games or so. Sometimes I get 5 games in a row without dead, sometimes I die twice in a row in the same game and give up spawning the tank. a) a single forge gunner can kill my 250k tank (often because I can't find them to kill them back) b) a single viper with a good pilot and gunners can render my tank ineffective or kill it c) non militia launchers are far more effective at killing tanks. 2) High SP, High cost tanks should take a team of people to bring down because: a) they took a lot of SP to train and there should be some payout for that b) they take a lot of isk to field and there should be some payout for that

Maybe the militia vehicles won't go but the free militia vehicles will.
Most of the play issues that are all over the forums these days can be blamed directly on them. If you're paying for your dropship then you're not going to go bowling with it. Not everyone is going to spawn them and use them to camp on top of a tower. Not every sniper will have their own personal dropship at their disposal.
Free vehicles are also skewing their relative strength. If tanks were rarer people would notice more when they die. I went poor fielding vehicles that were taken down by forge guns in just a few hits (that, and by dropships turrets camped on the towers).
If they want to test out vehicles, bring the costs down, don't give them away for free with no skill requirements. |

I agree with point two, but I think that should depend more on fitting? |

I agree with point two, but I think that should depend more on fitting?

Tanks are "OP" cause theres no real teamwork with the pub matches. A high tier'd tank will pwn faces but if 2-3 people actually brings out the swarm launchers and take it out, it would deter that person from spawning another tank.
Wait until a group system is in place and people will say Corps are "OP" lol |

Stop complaining about forge guns. It only makes sense that they do serious damage to tanks.They're mining tools used to break up the materials that tanks are essentially made of, and they have been further "militarized" and adapted to do even more damage.
Tanks need infantry support, other wise why even have infantry? Why not just make this a game about tanks. The balance is intended to revolve around a small balanced 8-man squads made up of one of each specialization theoretically being able to handle any threat.- and that would involve one forge gun, not two.

hurm actually how i see it thank's will end up getting either a Boost or a tech II tank will come out. considering once you can actually group up and do corp vs corp battles and not this random pug stuff, tank's will not live long. they might be used more as a diversion than actually ruling the battlefield. basicly just use them to make them switch to AV fits as your ground troops flank and take objectives. without group it's sure to say how the remote repairs and shields will effect this considering the short range and the extra isk cost risk ratio. but yes tank's may seem op in pug games.
on a side note i do find the militia free vech very amusing. was standing at objective A and it was raining LAV's LOL apparently someone was on top of one of the towers calling in Lav's and driving them off the tower to go sailing in the air crashing down onto A. did it all match, guess that's why they named the militia one Impact. saw atleast 20 of these things come flying down. |

For one, a paragraph can be one sentence long. A paragraph is a topic--ONE topic... He goes from --- Vehicles are overpowered, Than he said vehicles are overpowered because it is a tank(DUH, he just answered his own question.
His topic is consistant like that ... Has not one real key-idea. He throws in parts about the developers doing something. An then goes back to talking about how he is wrong...
Now what I said, made pure sense... And my advice to him... Be direct don't just insight his feelings inside his question -- As like how you are doing. You, questioning my ability to post than diddling back to the post.
One topic, one consistent rationalization. Is all I'm asking for.
I still read it a few more times... I'm not sure if he is wrong about tanks needing to be overpowered or if he thinks they are overpowered... I'm not sure if he thinks the developers are testing vehicles or If he thinks the developers are messing with him. Then he was angry cause he was running and got shot?? WTF is he even talking about?
The post is skewed and jargon... Anyone that understands him, must be a close buddy.

Xiree this Thread was made for a build before your time. This was the E3 build and we had BPO Millitia Vehicles (Tank, Dropships) no need to try and troll a long dead thread. I declare this a NECROTHREAD because the entire reason for the OP was resolved when Replication was released. |

Seems only a very few had the understanding to what he was even saying(Reffering original poster). So don't worry about it Kay high... I was just trying to comprehend the post the guy made.
As that one troll was starting to imply that my post was questionable... I didn't sweat it -- Been bunch of people insisting grammar problems today. I'm just having to teach about grammar wandering off topic. Its not the first time, I had to teach grammar lessons. Usually I just laugh at them and ignore it -- Since this is a closed forums, I thought I would go ahead and correct those, who assume they know grammar.
Not to be modest of course... I don't really try fr grammar unless its just needed. Formality is boring and crude... Especially when a few try to be rude with it -- Even when its funny cause they talk post in pure innacurate jargon. I try to keep it simple .. jst to encourage anyone to reply.
