From the few matches i was able to play this morning, It became quite clear that the attackers simply cannot lose.
Right now, this map (the us one) Is like playing on bio mass, or communication when the attackers are able to instantly destroy the two outposts. There simply is not enough fire power on the map that can stop the MCC. You can hold the attackers off, and keep them trapped in their spawn. But you still wont be able to destroy the MCC.
The only way i can see the defenders gaining a remote chance of winning would be by having half of their team drop down tanks ,and focus on the MCC for the entire match. Which is another problem.
The map is far too small. it also lacks the cover needed for infantry to escape from tanks. Once a tank sees you, you're screwed, you can't get away because there are no small areas for infantry to hide in.
Hit detection is still a problem.
Hit registration is still too slow.
Grenades are still silent killers.
Spawns are still glitched
I also found a major glitch. if you create a character, go into a game, reset your game so go back at the start screen, then delete your character, the game will back up to the start menu. But this time, the start button wont show up, so you're stuck there until you restart your game again. once you play the game again, it'll throw you into that loading screen, but for some reason the spawn option shows up as if you're in a game! If you press X, the game just tells you that you don't have access to the beta. Which means I you have to restart you game once more. After I did that, the game was fine. But my character wasn't deleted.
it seems that once you create a character, you can't get rid of him. |

I second the "defenders can't win" sentiment. It's still loads of fun, but you can always count on a loss even when you hold the line. |

This really needs to be looked at, CCP. When I'm put on the defending side, I just feel like quitting because i know 100% that my team simply cannot win. |

I win matches while defending quite a bit, so I don't know what you're on about. There is also plenty of cover with the cargo containers spread around, and all you need is one corner to escape a tank. Hit detection is still a bit off though, and sometimes grenades not having an animation when they explode is a bit annoying. |

I was able to play quite a few games this morning.....If your team works together and doesn't run around running and gunning like most FPS games you win....I have won games on both sides. |

It is possible for the defenders to win. In previous testing there had been a similar feeling of one side being completely unable to win however that changed fairly quickly and matches were anyone's game, with people figuring out ways to have one side win (scout suit rushes) and people setting up counters, then counters to those counters..etc. |

My very first game was on defense and we won. It seemed like I may have lucked out, I don't think I won any other defenses since.
I think the problem is the new influx of players that are fresh enough to not know what to do all that well. I think the militia vehicles are adding to some of the issues, if you have a few vets actually know how to call em in on one team and knowing how to pilot them, it can definitely hurt the other team.
It feels like the attacking team has a really strong advantage right now, but I think the new people just need to learn things and then it'll balance out a little more. I've had plenty of defending matches where I'm screaming with my mic off wondering why I'm the only person within a 200m radius trying to reclaim an objective, while everyone else is just standing around at the default spawns instead of spawning at the objective we do have.

I've found it easier to defend than attack personally.
I'm finding the hit detection a bit off still BUT that could be my low SP now and lack of skills that are making me shoot around the target rather than at the target. |

I was also having issues with winning whilst defending, and was thinking it was another bug, but I have just finished a defender match in which we won. I say we, cause it was one of the few matches Ive been in today with any team play/ coordination.

Defenders CAN win...I,ve been able to play 2 games so far...both on the defenders' side. The first one I was getting used to the game and we lost. The second one started really bad and then I decided to try a different tactic. I called in a dropship and hoped that people would do a bit of teamwork and spawn on it....guess what...moments later I was flying around the defend points with 2 gunners in the ship and helping the team with air-to-ground fire.
And we won. |

I have won 2 or 3 defender matches. One was won with very good team work and swarm cannons that kept all the defenders unable to use any vehicles cause we could practically blow them up as they hit the ground.
Another win was with the greatly overpowered cannons that are placed all over the map. I basically two shot everyone on the other team with the missile emplacement
There is no point in using vehicles when the other team has a few good men in the Large installations. Just don't bother the vehicle won't survive for more than 15 seconds.
I hope they add more linear maps because this one just sends people all over the place. |

I agree with you on the hit registration and markers being delayed, also on the grenades being silent.. a couple of times ive actually waited to hear the sound of it going off, or even landing near me, before i know it im dead.
The spawns arnt fantastic but ive had no real problem with them, only once or twice but that was bad judgement on my part of where i chose to spawn, just study the map better before you decide to pick a spawn and you should drop clear of enemies.
In regards to the lack of cover, that's true but remember, this map is only one of probably hundreds at launch.. we are only in beta stages here.
The MCC can be destroyed, i've often been a defender and won today, the key is teamwork. As corny as it sounds if your team divides between all 3 posts and holds strong, you can maintain control but the MCC practically almost reaches the dock as it gets destroyed. Although you are correct as it does take pretty much all of your teams efforts to divide and conquer, and there is the problem of run & guns who don't care for objectives they just want kills..
The main artillery should be given more fire-power so that the combat is more urgent and dynamic, that gives defenders a much better chance.

I'm sorry OP, but I have seen defenders win and lose based only on how they fought. If they fought well, they won. If they fought like crap, they lost. If both defenders and attackers fought well, it's 50/50.
Also...
1. I have not had a single spawn glitch since I played the new build on Tuesday and since yesterday and today. 2. There is plenty of cover even against tanks in the new map. What are you talking about? 3. Hit detection/registration is not a problem for me. In fact, it has improved a lot. Learn to aim ahead of your moving targets. 4. Well, grenades are still hard to see, but that's the whole point of a grenade. To surprise you. |

I've been in battles where the defenders won, and of course where they lost. The key seems to be teamwork. If the defenders early on gain the control points, and keep them most of the time, they win.
The key is for your forces to cooperate and keep the control points secured, and not roam around looking for solo kills. |

the map sucks dev if we beta testers are saying it suck in mass like we are then why you do fall back on saying its how were playing the game ? dont you think if your on def your job is not to atk but to def and if its to ez for the atker to take the points on the map and out flank the def team dont that make a sh!t map ???? like the one that we were all just playing ? |
