Boosters in general should move away from being time based and more on straight instead to earnable LP/SP. No time limit, earn it at your leisure. I would be SO more inclined to buy active boosters.

You realise you only get noticeable red mist on your screen when you die, right?
Perhaps I should applaud you for coming out of the red line, even if you are getting instantly mowed down.
Btw, do you honestly believe that not being able to field many teams is a good thing? I'd hoped the Caldari were progressing past that attitude, but it seems some of you are still in the dark ages. I pity Middas if you're the type he has to try and herd.

Last time [before event] when i've played Cal fw, gallente q sync squads were beaten to the ground every time. They were collecting cans deep inside their redline.
That being said. When gal q sync, they're just scrubs. When Cal q sync, they play like in PC.

That seems like a far to sensible a thing to do and I would be more inclined to use boosters if it was the case. Not everyone can spend 10 hours plus a day on Dust every day.

Absolutely. I almost never pop my actives (and hence, don't need to acquire more - they've really only been used for MCCs) due to how time-inefficient they are, with enormous blocks of boosted time thrown away due to things like, you know, sleeping and working, followed by the pressure to grind WP as hard as possible to maximize their output in the time remaining, instead of just having fun and reaping the rewards organically.
Reality is the original Rorschach.
Verily! So much for all that.

Call them Battle Boosters, or Participation Boosters? and sell them in packs of 10 battles, 50 battles, 100 battles or something along those lines.
No need to change active or passive as those can cater for those players who can spend how ever many hours a day logged in. |

Not if you keep active boosters and make it more worthwhile to stick with active if you can put the hours in
For example.
A 7 day booster cost 5,000 AUR
In those 7 days you could play 50 matches if you have the time.
The theoretical new boosters could be 10,000 AUR for a pack of 50 Battles.
Active giving a saving advantage to those who can put the hours in. So people who currently use active will continue to use active.
Whereas the new pack of 50 battles caters to those who can only play a few matches a night and may never even buy boosters whatsoever as they cant put the time in. |

In this case the active boosters will have to be reduced a lot ^^ I really like the idea of booster per battle, I was about to propose it when I saw Rattati's message^^
Fix the game before trying to add anything else.
(Hint: hit detection, lags, glitches,.. you've got some work :) )

Personally, I'd only ever use passives, (in fact, they are the only ones that I ever used, outside of my two alts who gained free actives) because I'm tired of protostomps/extremely variable battle quality and can't plan my time for the game.
But battle boosters would appeal to me much more than current active boosters. |

Bad: "Well, it is the weekend. I bought a booster for X Aurum and despite being able to play 60 games, I only got rewarded for 30 games. If it was a 3 day booster, I would have gotten my money worth!"
Bad: "I played poorly that match or got in late. I only got 6,000 SP when I normally pull 12,000+ so I missed out on 6,000 SP. If it wasn't based on a number of wins, it wouldn't affect me at all." I know I would be angry if I joined a match that had 20 seconds left and it used my booster because I couldn't leave in time.

Time based boosters have the disadvantage of being utterly wasted if real life hits you. That can be anywhere up to 75 bucks a month if you triple stack everything.
And the problem with number of battles is...
You have a bad ambush and get skullstomped. Youearn a kill and an assist. At EoM you get no SP. one battle wasted.
You lose a facwar. Instead of a potential 1000 LP You start with 300. One battle wasted.
You spawn in to a match with the MCC at half armor. At most you're going to pull a base of 2k SP. God forbid you spawn in just before it pops. Battle wasted.
Realistically setting boosters for earned SP/LP rather than time or battle number is the best way for players to feel that they are getting their money's worth overall.
Because if you're expending uses on bad matches ( there's too many reasons this can be out of your control) then it's going to leave a sour taste in people's mouths.

I held off from suggesting it, as I thought I'd get flamed with "well you already have that, just use the instant boost at the end of a match". yeah true... but it doesn't *feel* the same.

Why not have both? time based and battle count based that way we can make are own minds up. you can always review later to see if you want to get rid of one or not. its all aurum sales at the end of the day.
Also if you are going to go down the route of battle count based then I'd recommend putting limits in similar to the number of WP/SP payout you have on pub matches.

I had this exact thought just the other day. Active boosters are not passive boosters so why should they run out passively (when not playing)? It would be better if they only ran down whilst you are logged in.

Then how about Boosters with x amount of charges?! So you can use them after a good match and you would be able to decide to use it only if the match was worth using it... Just my idea.... Like 1 booster with 30 charges...and you could use one charge per match of your choice, which would result that you could use it on matches were you performed well (and not got stomped to the ground)... |

Well then we wouldn't need instant Boosters anymore and CCP could remove the ****** missions which requires to use them in the same move. So this would be a win for everybody :3 |
