Haha in one of the recent maps where A is always underground in the valley like setup, I saw a sentinel I believe jump over a building or at least as high as a clone reanimation unit, scared the crap outta me haha. I though the had a jetpack or something.
And yeah I cant find the recon suit and also with all the extra equipment, buying militia or even standard equipment seems pointless as the starter fits have every single equipment you may need.
I think CCP should change starter fits from BPOs to maybe 100 a month or something. It should be allotted and claimed.
Also arent we supposed to have both Shield and Armor AV?

I have some very, very mixed feelings about the sniper rifle weapon due to how it 'encourages' people to (not) play and the behaviours they (don't) learn with instant access to it. As a dedicated scout since forever, I was looking forward to seeing how the recon loadout plays. Although the changes should primarily be to make the game more accessible to new players, the people that play now will still have these new starter fittings when they become vets. Also, veteran players are the most likely to come on here and post feedback about the new loadouts. Finally, Istill hope you will reconsider the change to oms and reverse this decision. The oms game mode has been marginalized far too long and iI believe the right direction to take is not to reduce the amount of player owned OMS, but increase it. Instead of removing vehicles, I'd rather see small and/or large turret bases available for players to buy and fit up

Scouts who fit lots of myofibs should be able to jump onto a box, and then onto a roof top. Everyone shouldn't be free to ignore stairs and ladders. Jump height is way over the top, literally. Wait, yes, literally.
Will the assault scrambler rifle's damage buff be shown in the weapon stats? The currently look as though they don't reflect the damage buff.

I disagree that we need PS4 or PC to get the best out of this game. Uncharted is awesome and it was on PS3 , even Warhawk( I prefer third person shooters) didnt even have any hit detection issues and ran rather smoothly with no frame rate issues. I think its a bit mm small minded for lack of a better word to assume bigger is better or brand new is better. Just as windows 7 runs better on older laptops than Windows vista, or rather most games ran better on xp than on vista

I hope the back pedaling speed penalty makes a huge difference. I can understand not being able to hit a fleeing count but having one dance in front of me and my bullets it but deal no damage really sucked. I was forced to skill into the Mass Driver

I will go through each section as listed in the Dev Blog and give a rating from 1 to 10.
Starter Loadouts This was much needed, blueberry scrubs will finally be able to do useful things. This will greatly help NEW players (notice the emphasis). The Shield AV fit is awesome, especially with the damage increase and being able to have some AI capability as well. THANK YOU so much for putting Anti Vehicle grenades on the Anti Vehicle starter fit, it makes sense now. Also glad to see a beta suit back in action and I will be testing it out.
HOWEVER: This change should apply to all players, not just newberries. Everyone should be equal. I use militia starter fits every now and then for the LOLS, and I want to use these new loadouts on my main character, and not my academy alt.
Rating: 8/10 Apply the changes to all players, then I will change it to a 10.
Basic Medium Frames NO. NO. Oh, and NO. Why? Basic suits should never ever be viable, I don't care what anyone says. Basic suits are a means to an end, and the end are the specialized dropsuits. Basic suits should never be viable because they aren't even made to be used in battle, only the specialized suits. Of course there are a few exceptions to the rule.

Movement Awesome changes here, been waiting for this for a long time. I already love my APEX tiger scout, and now it's going to get more love. This might make more people use nova knives/shotguns/melee.

Game Modes and Maps The PC change is good, but the Research Facility forces a little bit more teamwork than the Communications Outpost. However there is the lag problem so this change was definitely needed. But when you fix the lag, remember to bring this map back into PC.
Now the negative stuff. Don't take Vehicles out of OMS. The installations do the same amount of damage to an enemy team as a vehicle does, it is just stationary. Vehicles force people to use teamwork and use AV. With the new AV vamp, it would be wrong to take the vehicles out of OMS, as we now have a more efficient way to deal with them.
Rating: 7/10
Handheld Weapons Love the HMG change, good job on making the AHMG viable. Some people in PC will have to change their strategies now, which is always good as it mixes the battles up. I also felt as though the LAV did a little too good of a job and carrying HMG wielding heavies. And now their counter is AHMG wielding heavies.
The Assault Scrambler has been UP for a long time, and now it is finally viable. I was tearing things up on my APEX Dragon vX.1 before, and now it's really going to tear things up.
Plasma Cannons needed a serious vamp, and now we got it. Thank you CCP!
Rating: 10/10
Equipment Deployable Equipment with an increase to 3 carried is awesome, and now I won't run out of Nanos as often.
Cloak fields needed at little bit of a decrease, as I was only able to fit a cloak when I got level 4 scout.
Dropsuit Modules will be interesting. A lot of bunny hoppers now, gonna make snipers hate hate and hate, but it will make people figure out new ways to counter this new method, which will be fun.

Turrets Thank you so much for the small blaster change, I can do better with an Incubus now, and I suspect more people will find the Incubus viable.
The missile turret change is nice, and I like it, it gives me more time to escape from them, and also makes it so that I don't waste an entire clip because of a speeding LAV. The increased heat up build on Railguns is probably needed, as I found my Tank being blown up too many times because of one shot from the heat up. The Large blaster turrets are gonna be amazing, I already do incredibly well with AV with the blaster turret, and now I'm really going to have fun, however, this might make the community call for nerfing threads, as the increased damage per shot is really going to hurt infantry.

New Vehicle Modules Shield Regulators - Greatly needed, I hated waiting such a long time for my shields to come back. Active heat sink - Awesome stuff, will counter the heat build up on both blasters and railguns, and will probably be seen on most railgun fittings. Active Dispersion Stabilizers - You're really trying the make the blaster AV viable I see. But think about how this will affect infantry, I personally think it will be balanced as AV, but as AI it will be over powered. Current Vehicle Modules - Thank you for making armor hardening a little more viable. Rating: 9/10
Light Assault Vehicles A much needed change to be sure, but this is what I would have done. I would have decreased the normal LAVs health to 75%, but keep scanning range the same. Then I would've brought back Scout LAVs with 50% health and increased scanning capabilities. This would make it so that all vehicles have specialized options.
Heavy Attack Vehicles Awesome changes here, proto HAVs are really going to rock and they are going to be very hard to kill. However, I do agree that if they cost 700000 isk, they should probably be beast. Thank you for finally forcing teamwork in HAVs by adding a small turret requirements.

Bpo small turrets make my old 3/2 fittings invalid let alone using all the 5/2. I can hardly fit out a shield tank now. I can't speak for armour based ones but I can say that while everyone is tank spamming I will be hanging mine up for the moment. I know it's a pain ring to balance these things without making them op so I'm not mad but I do hope you work on this. |

It's the point of progression, just use the STD small turrets on the PRO, and use higher tier gear for everything else.

Good thinking there, Scouts were already over-equipped with more options and abilities than any other class. Sentinels are almost completely helpless against Scouts as it is. Now if they are lucky enough to see them coming(invisible to the naked eye AND sensors), can`t even start firing until they are close enough to jump like bunnies, run circles around their slow ass and one-shot them in the head with OP shotguns! As for a lack of equipment in Academy matches... well DUH! How many hours of playing in Academy did it take for you geniuses to realize new players couldn`t AFFORD the PG AND CPU necessary to use them? I bet it took the better part of 2 years to figure that mystery out. I don`t want to go on a rant forever, but there is one thing I want to mention, and that is the lie we were told regarding the BPO item from the 5M Clone Challenge. We were led to believe it would be something ``useful to MOST players`` and that is a lie. I am not likely to trade my Complex Damage Modifier for a 3% decreased effect . You know where you can put that Militia crap? I started an alt, and tried to fit it on a starter... no deal. High CPU renders it useless to even a new player. You guys sucking on paint fumes over there in Iceland? Anyone with the ability to use a damage modifier would go for a basic to begin with anyway, so ...you guys are clueless. No excuses for this nonsense CCP, and I would also like to point out that range nerfing sniper rifles was anti-progressive, you took away the whole point of what a sniper does. Every change you have ever made to ``balance`` this game has been a disaster. You guys suck. |
