Tebow, go to our recruitment thread if you play NC, you will find us very attractive, D.F.I.
The stuff you can do with one "thinking" squad is amazing.
Yes mate.
It is pure gold when the right kind of people use it and you guys are the right people. It's amazing how quickly people flake as well, like where the fk are they going to go lol. Have you noticed people doing this when you are persistent and they just up and leave.
I'd also say Tebow you probably should make an alt on NC and roll with Cyrax defo. It's not TR but everyone ends up with an alt in each faction anyway and from what i am seeing from the beta, there's trash, the few decent outfits (annd im being kind there as i only see 1) and then decent players who are swimming with the trash so to speak lol.
As cyrax said, he's used some of what i have said and it's golden. That doesn't even mean my tactics are golden as such, it means his guys have the right attitude to execute that sht successfully so right off the bat i'd say join him to get some proper play.
I can't fking wait for the ps4 version. I love the pc version but it is try hard or die mode constantly as i and anyone else who wants every advantage barring hacks is running crazy dpi and macros lol. There's just no chilling at all and even the casual play is fking hardcore lol.
I am really looking forward to the much more relaxed speed where we cant all spin on a pin head quicker than your screen even renders lol.

Dude, some of our best times are when we pile into Clyff's "Magic Battle Bus", blockade armour maxed, combat chassis maxed, better and upgraded turrets, and go grief enemy armour!!!
I won't outline the actual tactics employed, but there is always a "BIG" surprise waiting inside the bus, hehehe. We do so many things with that bus other than deployment, the enemy must sometimes say "wtf are they doing" and boom they're dead.
One of the greatest things about PS2 is you can be as creative as you want in finding ways to capture bases or just straight up kill and blow stuff up. It's how you use that creativity to help the outcome of a battle that defines the true "thinking" squads from the COD style squads.
Can't wait to see you and your guys TK and roll together,

thanks for the invite i will definately consider joining you on NC .. i'm not trying to be the leader just play my part of a machine that's more than driving sunds to base for the next zerg.. i also get out of the gal and help cap unless there's enemy aircraft i switch to top turret. we were doing a dust style rotation the other night, fly in drop a few 60mm, and fly out of range of AA, rinse, repeat, with ppl spawning in to hotdrop over contested base, all random. there was just enough resistance for us to handle and i got 5 kills from air braking and the ESF would crash into us destroying him. my gunners shot down just as many but other flights haven't been so lucky but that hour i got like almost 100 certs from transport assist, vehicle kill assists, and some caps you can park the Gal on top of and get defense points without exiting and the bulldogger is focused on the enemy spawn room giving us more kills.. definately have plans to unlock the 105mm on the lib also i should have focused my certs there first... i have the bulldog and passive rep but still need AB and 105mm |

I'm still really interested in the game but there is not information out there on our out of region players can enter the beta. I just hope they aren't planning to region lock the game.

Found out I won't be able to participate until the SCEE beta rolls around some **** like that. it is fun but also know that it is not as fun as it should be with all the crashes and low server pop is only at 25% so you're not missing a whole lot yet. there are some epic fights but i would say those equal about 2 hours of the 6 hours the server is up for.. the rest of the time it's been like a normal 16 vs 16 game or late at night before server maintenance it's mostly an hour of soft capping unoppsed bases and exploits like your infantry being OHKed by what's essentially a heavy wielding an AA weapon is annoying AF.. also guided air to air missles with broken decoys and on board fire supression not working sucks.. also the in game comms do not work with any consistency and it's pretty blueberried out right now. |

Yes mate 100%.
It's potentially about 150 people who will be coming with me but given the nature of ps2, i'd imagine it will whittle down to about 30 people because as you know, sometimes you have to die over and over and over to do something and a lot of the people in my clan are purely console and cod/bf at that as well. So i don't know how they'll handle not having any end game scoreboard but either wayy it wil be great.
I am the only person other than one other who has played ps2 so the will have a long way to go but it's going to be great.

No not at all mate, i highly doubt they will.
Japanese players come on eu servers and they are no problem really. It's not like your average game where the can abuse that sht, it works really well.
Also hit detection is client side so when i shoot someone, i tell the servers i hit them rather than the usual way it works where we ask the servers with everyy hit, the server querys and says no they weren't there.
I hate that sht in BF4, it's really bad there.
It should be fine mate.

the meta is freaking awesome to watch play out, and watching the different outfits battle it out among the zerg is awesome, I cant wait to get in my ESF why is it so far away :(

So... Who's recruiting?
AU player, happy enough to join a US server or whatever. (I play Dust on American server). Have been messing around on the PC version to get some practice in before the game launches. And have been listening to old episodes of "under the radar".
Planning on going Lib/Gal/ESF pilot. Still can't get the hang of the reverse maneuver yet though. So will likely cert them in that order.
As such will be mostly interested in running with organised squads, though I'be heard a 2 person lib can do some cool solo flights.
Don't really care what faction. Just want to fly with folks who are gonna be around to squad up, so a large (100+) clan is preferable.

There's two kinds of play in ps2.
Casual zerg play between bases and everything inbetween.
Outfit play where it is highly organised, people have role play discipline and everyone watches eachothers backs.
Just make sure you join a decentt outfit.
The outfit i am in on pc had one of our bi weekly organised sessions yesterday and i racked up 76 kills as HA in an hour which is really good considering how we are always going into the highest population fights and spearheading pretty much everything game changing for TR on our server.
One thing i cannot stand is HA players who cower. The HA is the main soldier, the class that gets **** done and through tenacity, will drive his/her fellow comrades around him forwards.
Then outfit night ended and our inner goons came out. I prefer the old drop a tank mine and then blow up about 10 friendlies trick. Or another is to randomly shoot a player with a burst or two from my pistol and then quickly turn around so the don't know who is doing it. Sometimes they kill someone thinking it was them and then it starts a fight lol.
High speed sky whale tank teabagging anyone?

I have four characters. 1 NC, 2 TR, 1 VS. Just trying them all out, they all have Pro's and Con's.
NC is fun, great guns with solid stopping power. Although a shotgun as the MAX AI weapon, WTF?
TR is good fun as well, I like their MAX the best. In particular with rockets.
VS is actually the best overall - if you actually want Science Fiction solders of the future. MagLev floating tanks, huge freaking lasers, particle accelerators that punch holes in enemy armor, lasers for weapons and pulse rifles that fire actual pulses. The best suppressive fire weapon, so far, is the Lasher 2 - wow, fun to use. Big blobs of plasma causing decent damage to shields and armor. Keep your head down or die.
Any clan/guild/group that can field 32 or more will do fine as they will have a lot of random collections against them.
The only negative to the game for me is flying. I love watching a fighter flip upside down flying backwards while still shooting, but when I fly I am just a flying bullet magnet. Hopefully that will improve when I can use a controller on the PS4.
My PS3 now PS4 friends are TR last I checked. I'm just biding my time on the PC until I can join them.
My favorite tank is a Lightning. Just sayin.

Goon Brigade on pc has no relation at all to Eves Goon swarm thank you.
Incorrect. There is a zergfit called DIG and they try to spam about 150 of their scum and it doesn't go well for them unless it's past prrime time and there's barely anyone on. NC also has ORBS which is another trashy zergfit and they do the same and also do badly. Those two zergfits have to actually team up on the sly against us (thats about 300 against 50) to actually beat us properly because they just zerg like orks.
VS is the easiest to use overall. Their weapons fuunction really well right off the bat and their max goes into berserk mode and wrecks in cqc. NC have serious potential as their weapons do loads of damage but across all servers they are plagued by lack of decent teamwork on pc.
TR suffers because we get the most newbs and then when people get the hang of the game, they tend to move to vs for the most part as it is just easier so it's hard for TR to keep dedicated players. Because of the nature of TR's arsenal, they rely heavily on decent coordination. Regardless of what people, say TR is defo harder to use UNLESS the combat is happening within 10 metres where the high rof and p!ss poor accuracy actually matters.
Also you're going to have a crap time flying solo in general as the game is not balanced around solo play. Try to find an outfit that has a decent amout of pilots or you're just going to be food for dual burster maxes and other pro pilots who dedicate themselves to killing newb pilots.

And another one goes TR, I'll be waiting, hehehe...
It should balance out when the game goes live.
More enemies is more people to kill anyway so it's good really. Just get the godsaw out, line up at head height and 2/3 shot people in droves lol.

Planetside normally evens out tbh. No idea why or how but the "4th" empire moves about a lot so one side never really dominates for very long. It's one of few games where casuals and hardcores enhance the experience for each other.
Not that either camp would ever agree on that. But casuals give us the huge battles and hardcores get **** done =ƒÿå.

Word on the street is they are along with how the resource system works tbh a redeploy to warp gate only would fix the problem. As everyone would buddle into gals and vercs and pull EDF to avoid the words worse foot slog =ƒÿå.
Also bring back ANT runs I used to love doing those in hot zones racing around with fighters and tanks chasing you.
Or just a nice 10 mintue drive and slowly driving into the chaos driving around like a rally driver blasting your horn Hoping to God you got to the ntu before the base went neutral =ƒÿå

I never played ps1 but it does look like it was great.

it was a lot more tactical than planetside 2.
for example my two main roles was forword scout, where i fly ahead of main group and scout out the base to report numbers and defence set ups and which entrance was least guarded. and the 2nd was laser designator for artillery bombardments, and that role got my blood pumping so much, having to get behind lines and dec AMS BFRS or anything else that looked important, and then watch another player use my signal to rain death down.
lastly after about a month of work i got my BFR robot and my role changed to get into big robot and smash face :P
but my first ever newb role in the outfit, was hacking control points and thats where i think planetside 2 went a little wrong :P you could stall a huge attack by just killing the only guy who hack the base if the outfit was poorly setup :P.
or racing though the inside of the base among all the chaos to get to the CN hack it, only to defend it.
uuugg i could go on for hours.
Like my outfit once did special operation runs where gen smash an empires tech plant and then hold generator as long as possible. while doing this as a hacker i would have to race around and hack control nodes while runners did ammo runs or legging it to lockers where you could stash stuff in the event terms got powered down or broken, leading me to once stuffing my locker full of ammo at base we owned.
racing across the map in mozzie bailing out over a gen hold, fighting past an outfit trying to retake the genroom, dropping off the first set of ammo our maxes need, then fighting back out the room, stuffing my face with ammo and then running back and forth a few times.
i can tell you i was never so happy to see another outfits Gals fly overhead and drop of reinforcements as apparently the battle had caught up to the tech plant :P

Sounds quality. I can't believe i never played it nor understand how they went so wrong lol. Goon Brigade has quite a few ex ps1 players so it makes sense how they know their sht. That and the Arma series which are so milsim that it can be a complete drag lol.

yea it definitely had some soul ripped from planetside 1 with the removal of ANT and how the nanites used to work was pretty hardcore. i can understand why they did 2 like they have because it's the trend with all gaming to streamline at the sacrifice of the heart of the game in favor of more accessible action.
also in planetside 1 there weren't really classes it was more like dust with an inventory like ultima online where you fit things into a backpack. the inventory system created more flexible and customized character choices. like iirc you could fit an entire weapon into your backpack while carrying a main and a sidearm, if you wanted to switch weps you just packed one into backpack at the sacrifice of space for extra ammo or grenades or you could have a medkit and rep tool packed.
i've been kinda bummed with the beta population lately the most you get is like 50 vs 50 for maybe an hour the rest of the time it's like 12 vs 12.. it's getting kinda boring because the main thing it has going for it is massive battle that doesn't last long because no one is really playing the objective just zerging and going 1.0 KDR, if no one is capping or defending the base flips in like 3 minutes then it's several minutes of downtime in the battle because they move to the next base to fight there for another 3 minutes with about 5 minutes of lull in between each. |

I loved UO.
I had so many bags inside bags that stuff just ended up lost lol. I was a murdering bastard that rode a beetle with a pitchfork and had my attacks macroed to nuke regardless of setup.

really happy with the valkryrie right now, the VLG missile OHK on troops, unlocked the mobile spawn point, gunner r4ped a bunch of infantry before server maintenance. was being repped internally by 2 engineers, the upgraded air frame was also keeping us alive- bugging out just in time. hope they fix my fire suppresion soon.. i'm curious what a fully speced out valk can do, but oh that Liberator..
it's not every day a squad is impressed by valkryrie, i had good support tho both on ground and air, the planets were aligned for that flight, only server maintenance could bring us down. |
